Strange Attractor

Innocent seventeen year old Marley Anderson moves in with her Aunt Molly for the summer. Her world is quickly turned upside down when her walk in the woods turns into something much more. Marley, not only runs into the largest and strongest pack of werewolves in America, she also happens to run into the alpha, who is determined to make Marley his and only his.

4. Four

"You know my aunt?" Well this was unexpected. I suddenly felt uncomfortable again. Beau was only twenty-four, not too much older than my aunt. Were they something? I probably would sound completely stupid if I said this out loud and I definitely wasn't going to.

Beau and I walked up to the front door and I was still waiting for his response. He didn't answer right away, which only made my assumption even worse. He cleared his throat and for the first time since meeting him, he looked nervous. "We've hung out..maybe a few times."

That stung.

And now I feel weird and I just wanted to go inside, preferably not face my aunt, and stay in my room. I just nodded, clearing my throat and started to walk up the steps of the porch but before I could get my foot on the first step, Beau had grabbed my wrist and tugged me back, so I turned around to face him. "When will I see you again?" I shrugged and he was frustrated with my answer, but I didn't care right then.

I shrugged again and I looked up at him, "soon."

I shrugged his hand off of my wrist and then walked up the porch and into the house. I let out a sigh as I closed the door and leaned back against and closed my eyes. What the hell.

All these emotions came swarming back to me, like last night. Mostly confused. I was so confused and this was so weird. I was brought out my thoughts when I heard my aunt call my name.

"I'm right here!" I started to follow the sound of her voice, walking into the kitchen. Looking at my aunt I could see why Beau could'v been interested in her. She was young but mature and pretty. She was very pretty with her long dark hair and bright green eyes.

"Hey, where were you? I checked up on you earlier and you weren't in your room."

I shrugged sitting down at the counter, looking at her, grabbing an apple out of the fruit ball. "I couldn't sleep, got up and took a walk around town."

She nodded and hurriedly grabbed her coat and put it on, looking at me, "I have to go to work, call me if you need me."

I nodded, not saying anything as she walked out of the house.  Molly worked at a small boutique in town about ten minutes away. It was a cute one and I've been there before and it sits right next to a little cafe.

I wonder if they still talked, I thought.

It bugged me to know end knowing that Beau and Molly had a thing but I couldn't figure out why. It's not like I can be mad and it's certainly not like we are dating. I barely knew. He basically kidnapped me and yet her I am having this crazy amount of jealousy.

I got up and walked out of the kitchen. I didn't know what to do. I can't go for a walk, then another insanely hot guy would just claim as his. Walks are not good for me know a days.

I grabbed my jacket and decided to go into town. They had little shops and maybe I'd stop in and see Molly but I decided to do that after I got a quick bite to eat. I was starving and I didn't even realize with all my thinking.

Molly lived basically in town so it didn't take me long to walk down into it. I headed straight for the place that made the best waffles in the world. I remember coming here when I was younger and visiting Molly and she'd take me here all the time and I'd get the same thing no matter what time of the day. A stack of waffles and a strawberry milkshake.

It looked the same when I got there, I walked in and was immediately engulfed in the smell of coffee and fried foods. I seated myself at a booth and didn't bother to pick up the menu seeing as how I already knew what I wanted.

About five minutes later, I heard someone clearing their throat and I looked up to a see a boy about my age holding a pen and pad. He was cute and he stood about six feet tall with brown hair and green eyes. He did look a bit familiar but I couldn't figure out from where and he his name did sound familiar. "Good evening, welcome to Pete's, what can I get you?"

I gave him my order of waffles and the milkshake but before he went off he just stood there and looked like he wanted to say something to me. "Do I know you? You just look so familiar and the waffles and milkshake order just makes me seem to make you even more familiar. I'm sorry if that sounds weird." He laughed nervously and I looked him over one more time. Maybe I do know him and I just can't remember from where. "Is your name Marley? I'm Parker, if you're the person I think you are."

And then it clicked, I remembered him! He looked so different but that makes sense seeing as how last time I saw him we were both about seven years old. I smiled big and then looked up at him. "Yes, I remember now. I thought you looked familiar too, but I couldn't tell, how have you been?" Parker looked so relieved after I recognized him, he sat down across from me in the booth and smiled.

Parker and I sat and talked for what seems like hours. We eventually exchanged numbers and I told him to give me a call anytime he was free and wanted to catch up more. After I left the diner, I got my waffled and milkshake to go because most of the time spent there was talking to Parker.

I felt in a better mood, catching up with a childhood friend kept my mind off Beau.

Even though I missed him and it bugged me. And I didn't even get his number, how am I supposed to text him or call him or see him.

I stopped myself after realizing how I sounded. I shouldn't be thinking like this. I shouldn't be worried about him or what he's doing. When Beau explained mates, he said he felt a pull towards me. That his feelings were already set and that there'd be nothing that could break those feelings. He said it was unusual for a werewolf to have a human mate but it's not impossible and that made me think. Does this mean that the pull he feels, I'll feel too? Because I feel like I already started to feel it or it's just the thought planted into my head that makes me think about him so much. I couldn't tell.

I spent the rest of the day at home reading and playing on my phone. It was dark and eight at night before I already knew it. I went downstairs and into the living room where Molly was watching tv, I sat down on the chair across from her and before I knew I was saying words that I wish never came out because I was dreading the answer. "Hey Molly, do you know a guy named Beau." Molly stopped eating her ice cream and turned towards me with a confused look on her face. "Big guy? Curly hair and green, eyes?" I nodded, "Yeah I know him, we date. Why do you ask?" That was all I needed to hear. I cleared my throat and tried to hold back tears that were threatening to spill. Her saying that made my chest hurt and made me realize that he lied. They didn't just hung out, they were together. And I felt put into an awkward position that would most likely result into me getting my feelings hurt. Did Molly know what he was? Did he tell her? Did he spew her that fake mate crap and that's how they ended up together? That's why he got so nervous. He wasn't nervous to run into a girl he used to talk to, he was nervous of running into his current girlfriend with her very gullible niece.

"No reason, I just ran into him today while I was walking around town. He said I looked like you and told me to tell you hi."

Molly nodded, completely oblivious to my actually real feelings. She didn't even pay attention to my lie about running into him and him saying I looked like her because Molly and I looked nothing alike. She smiled at me and got out her phone from her pocket. "I actually was meaning to call him back, he's real cute. You'd like him, maybe I'll have you guys meet. Actually l'll invite him over for dinner tomorrow night, how's that sound?"

I wanted to yell no. I wanted to tell her about what happened and what he said and I wanted to tell her that I wanted to go home. But I couldn't and I didn't. I just nodded and smiled weakly and stood up. "I think that's a good idea. I'm pretty tired, I think I'm going to go to bed."

She just nodded and started typing away on her phone, probably sending a text to Beau and I ran up the stairs and closed my door and threw myself into my bed and started to cry. I never wanted to see Beau again but I had to tomorrow and I was dreading tomorrow and I tried everything to get my mind off of it before I eventually cried myself to sleep.

This is a crappy chapter, I'll probably go back and edit it a little.

Well here it is!

I made a huge twist making Beau and Molly currently date and Parker will definitely play a big part in this story. I just wanted to get him in quick and put this chapter up, I'll include him in more chapters and the next chapter will be the dinner with all three of him and it will involve a lot of sucking up and convincing on Beau's part. Well I hope you enjoyed it!

As always leaving comments and likes. (:
