Stay Still

**THIS STORY MAY BE TRIGGERING TO: DRUG ABUSE / SELF HARM / EATING DISORDERS!**
I remember when I was still alive.
When I was normal.
When I was good enough.
But that was awhile ago. Now I’m just this thing. This monster. Who know’s how far I’ll go, but then again, no one even cares.

Tiffany is a fifteen year old girl obsessed with her weight. All she thinks about is the last thing she ate and how soon she will purge it all up.
She knows she has a problem, but denies it all.

Soon her older brother Brad gets discharged out of rehab. He enters her into a new world she's been dying to experience.

15. Shut Up, Tiff

“Mom, keep it down! I don’t want to be sent to a mental hospital!” I hushed.

“Miss Tiffany,

Tiffany,

Tiffany.

You’re bulimic, self harmer, anorexic, and now a druggie. What the fuck else am I going to have to put up with you?!” she yelled quietly.

I laughed because, no one I have ever met is as jacked up as Brad,

and because of it she can never compare me to him like most parents do with their children.

“Mom, look I’m sorry.” I lied.

I really didn’t care if I was alive or dead.

“Tiff, I’ve been so frightened that you were going to die.

So scared that you were going to just disappear because you’re so thin.

And these last 28 hours, I’ve been more terrified than I’ve ever been in my life.”

I felt tears coming.

Did she really just say that?

Does she really care?

Shut up, Tiff.

Shut up.

“Oh.” is all I could utter at the moment.

Oh?

That’s all you got?

You’re such a  little son of a b-

my thoughts got interrupted by a machine beeping.

“Every time you’re heart rate speeds up randomly it does that.” my mom pointed out.

I smirked a little.

I’m a little crooked you know.

I wish I wasn’t.

But I am.

Here on this hospital bed.

“Mom, I want help.” I said out of complete silence.

She started crying, got up from her chair accross the room and hugged me tight.

I haven’t gotten a hug from her in years.

“Baby, you’re going to get help. And you’re going to get better.” she kissed my cheek.

“Wait a second, what about Brad?”

she frowned and looked down.

“Where he belongs”
