6. Tourists and Tour Guides

"Hey," I said shyly. Aqua and her "friend" looked up from their obviously deep conversation. "Here comes our princess." Father stuck his head out of the kitchen. Despite myself I laughed. "Good morning sleepyhead!" Aqua grinned at me. "Sheesh, why is it that you two are always teaming upon me?"  I shook my head. Aqua grinned even wider.

"Hi, I'm Charles, and this is my brother Conner." The gray tom introduced himself and his littermate. Conner didn't even seem to notice he was being introduced. He couldn't take his eyes off Aqua. I nodded. "I'm Fire," I said. My voice was uncontrollably soft. "We know that," Charles smirked at me. "Everyone knows who you are." He said.

I was a little surprised. I may be princess, but I wasn't all that popular.

Conner finally dragged his eyes off Aqua. "Let's go," He urged. "I want to see everything!" I laughed. "Okay, okay. You're right though. We should get going." I sprinted out the door. Aqua, Conner, and Charles followed me.

I led them through the village, pointing out our greatest sights.

As Aqua and I led the toms from the Training Yard, I nearly crashed into Oliver. The sight of him took my breath away. For a moment I was torn between Oliver and Charles. Then I shook those thoughts away. Now wasn't the time to think about that. "Uh, hi, Ollie." I picked myself up. Aqua gestured with her tail. "Conner, Charles this is Oliver Cavern. Oliver, this is Conner and Charles Sky." So that was their last name, Sky. Charles and Conner nodded. Oliver smiled at them. "Hi, you must be new around here." He said, warmly.

"We must be," Charles observed Oliver  with a thoughtful look. I could tell he was trying to figure out what to think of Oliver. Ollie, on the other hand, always thought the best of cats. He tipped his head to one side. "Have you seen Eventer Pond?" He asked after a moment. "We were just going there." Aqua answered. "Come on, you can join us." I invited Oliver. "Let's see what good a tour guide you are."  I teased him. Oliver stuck his tongue out at me. I giggled and took the lead again.

Oliver soon caught up with me. "They seem pretty nice," He murmured. "You think everyone is nice, Oliver." I smiled at him. I was in a very good mood today. It's strange how a cat can totally change your day with just one look.
