The Triwizarding Games

When Professor Snow, Principal of Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, announces the return of the Triwizarding tournament after 100 years with some slight adjustments, the students all hope for their chance to fame, however, with only a 50% survival rate to the losing teams is there more to this than meets the eye?

(so I know the cross over competition is over but it just gave me so many idea and so I thought I would write one anyway)

1. The Announcement

"Students of Hogwarts" boomed the principal of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Snow,"it is my pleasure to reintroduce to you the Triwizarding Tournament!" he paused, eyes gleaming in anticipation. "Now as many of you may know this was a tradition that we have competed in throughout history however have not followed for the last 100 years due to an unfortunate incident regarding the rise of he-who-must-not-be-named in which a student was killed." he paused and looked at the hundred of young eyes that stared up at him. He loved the look of fear in some of the younger students eyes who had never before heard that last fact. "...but" he continued slowly drawing out the 't' to build suspense, " Myself and the other principals have decided to change traditions. From now on the ' Triwizarding Games', as they now will be referred to as, will always result in a students death... Well various students deaths. The games will provide various situations and playing fields in which 2 students from both Hogwarts and our sistering schools will fight to the death." he paused once more to take in that fear he so loved and was pleased that it how now reached the eyes of some of the seniors. "now, whilst that all sounds a little depressing " he added cheerily, "only one student per team need die. As soon as one student is slayed that particular round will be over and that team disqualified until only one team remains. Now you might ask yourself why would anyone compete in such a competition when the dangers are so high but...competitors will have a 50% chance of life and the winner will receive 1000 gold dragons and endless fame and glory. So the choice is up to you. Those interested in entering may put their name on a list outside my office and the lucky 2 Hogwarts competitors will be drawn in exactly 2 weeks time, when our competitors arrive." with that he resumed his seat at the teachers table in the in the grand hall and bellowed " To the new students welcome and to the old ones welcome back, may the feast begin!"
