18. Who are You?

Harry's P.O.V

"W-what?" I asked surprised, she looked so confused, "Who are you?" she asked again, "Excuse me," I said as I felt tears  brim my eyes. I called for a nurse and shortly after I was talking to her doctor outside of the door. "It seems she suffered some head trauma during the accident causing memory loss, it may or may not be permanent it all just depends on how she heals. You could help her by maybe trying to jog her memory? I'm terribly sorry, she'll have to stay  here for a while, while we run some more tests," he said with a weak smile before walking off. I sighed wiping the tears from my eyes before re-entering the room. She laid there watching me as I took a seat next to her, her green eyes looked so dead, her curls turned into loose waves. She was still so beautiful but she looked so hurt, and to be honest I was kind of happy she didn't remember anything. She wouldn't have remembered how I hurt her, I sighed reaching for her hand only for her to pull back making me sigh again. "Hello Gabrielle, I'm Harry. Your boyfriend. You were in an accident, a horrible accident and you lost your memory." I managed. "S-so your my boyfriend?" she clarified, and I nodded, "At least your cute," she joked trying to make me feel better as a tear slipped from my eye. "It's okay," she said taking my hand, "I'm sure I'll remember you eventually," she smiled down at me. A few days passed as I talked to Gabrielle about everything that had happened since we met, sometimes she'd finish a sentence for me giving me hope. She could finally walk again and they removed all of the tubes connected to her so she was free to walk around, but they still had to keep her. On the fifth day she let me hold her, it was amazing feeling her body pressed up against mine, I felt at home even if we were laying on an uncomfortable hospital bed. It was raining and she had me open the window, I remember waking up in the middle of the night to her watching me, she leaned up towards me. " I may not remember you, but I do know  you care for me, and I once cared for you just as much. And I promise I will try, I will try with every fiber of my being to remember you, Harry." she whispered. I smiled as I held her weak body in my hands, stroking her hair as the rain fell down outside. I never wanted that night to end, I never wanted us to end. I didn't want her to remember what I did for a living or Anna, or how I hurt her. I didn't want her to remember any of it. Tonight I get to take her home, she said she was excited to see my house again and that maybe it might trigger some memories. She had just finished packing a bag when the doctor came in with her discharge papers. She signed them and we were off to my house, the car ride there was silent, she just sat the admiring everything outside. The trees, people, buildings, as if they were all so foreign to her. It was raining as I grabbed her bag from the trunk, she looked amazed at my house just as she was the first time I brought her here for that tutoring session. I walked ahead of her until I got to the door, I turned to see her standing in the rain one arm aligned with he shoulder like the second time she came over, she turned to me. "Don't you just love the rain?" she giggled, I took a second to watch her before I spoke, "Yes, now come inside before you catch a cold," she laughed. "Your going to have to catch me first," she smiled before she began to run. I smiled at her childishness before setting her bag down and running after her, the rain hit me causing my clothes to stick together but I didn't care. as I got closer. She giggled when I wrestled her to the ground, her wet hair fanning on the grass, "Got you," I laughed, "Well, now that you have me what are you going to do with me?" she smirked, with hesitation I leaned down and kissed her softly until her hands tangled in my hair deepening the kiss.

Gabrielle's P.O.V

It was like everything flooded back to me when his lips were on mine, I remembered everything, every last detail. Every emotion hit me like a ton of bricks, when he pulled away he frowned at my facial expression. "Harry, I-I remember." I whispered. "Remember what?" he asked, "Everything." I whispered.  "E-everything?" he stuttered  I watched the rain hit his pale face as his green eyes filled with fear, "Don't worry, none of it matters anymore, you staying by my side for all of those days. Helping me, protecting me, showed me you still care, you still love me." He sat up, "I didn't protect you, you got hurt because of me," he scoffed, "No- I didn't get hurt because of you, it wasn't your fault I got in the accident," I reassured him. The rain began to pour harder on us as we sat in the now muddy grass, "But it was," he said sighing frustrated. "It was all of my fault," he said again tears falling, and he sat there and he told me everything. From what he did, to who he worked for, to everything Hunter said even the things he said about me which really creep ed me out, to hunter being the reason I flipped my car. I was angry but then I could feel myself soften up, he was trapped. Harry couldn't stop fighting and selling or he'd just get hurt.
