Nikki is just your average 16 year old. That's what it seems, but if you were to look closer you would see that so many things in her life go wrong. She is actually a very sweet girl, but because of her appearances people assume she is a bad girl. So she has to play that role, but she is tired of it. Tired of being someone she's not. Tired of her father abusing her. Tired of life itself. She faces challenges, like every person. But the question is, will she over come them?

5. Chapter 4

I threw my bag down on the couch and walked to the kitchen. Slowly, I searched the fridge for something to eat. Bottles of beer, half a gallon of milk, more beer, some old lettuce, and a stick of butter. Nice, I slam the door and walk to my room. Flinging my door open and flopping down on my bed.

I probably laid there for half an hour before I felt my phone vibrate,

<TO: NIKKI<3><FROM: KEITH> Hey, my mom has to wrk l8 2nite. I dont hve any food and cant rlly drive, mind picking me up some food???

Typical Keith, he was actually very responsible when he was drunk. I replied telling him I would go get some Chinese and be at his house in half an hour.

I quietly walked to my dad's room to find him snoring loudly, passed out on his bed. I went to his dresser and grabbed his cars keys, also grabbing a sticky note and left him a message,

             Hey Daddy,

I went to get some Chinese food and I'm bringing some to Keith. I should be back by 7:30.

                            <3 Nikki

I entered the Chinese take-out place and grabbed a menu. I knew my dad liked the sweet&sour chicken and Keith would want  the General's Sow chicken. So I ordered that with two sides of rice and some Chop Sui.

I waited about 15 minutes for the food and then quickly got back in the car and made my way to Keith's house. Not even bothering to knock, I walk in his house to see him exactly where I left him earlier. Laying on the couch. He must have gotten up and moved around because the t.v. was on and it looked like he put fresh bandages on his hand.

"Hey babe. I got your food." I tell him, handing it over to him. He smiles at me and greatly excepts it.

"Could you get me a fork and something to drink place?" He asks me.

"Sure!" I walk in the kitchen and pour him a cup of sweet tea, his favorite, and grab a fork and a few napkins.

"Thanks." He says as I hand them to him.

"Didn't you get yourself something?" He asks worried.

"Yeah, but I'm going to eat when I get home."

"Oh, okay. You can take the money from my wallet, it's in my room somewhere."

"Keith, I'm not going to take your money."

"Yes you are, I would have gone out and gotten it myself if I could drive."

"Too bad, I got paid last week, and got a small bonus, so eat your food and don't complain."

He laughs, "Fine, you are a stubborn girl, you know that?"

"Yeah, I have been told a few times." I smile at him.

"That's one thing I like about you. One question, I thought you're dad took your car away, how did you go get the food?"

"I took his, he was sleeping. Beside he won't mind since I got him some food as well."

I curl up next to Keith and lean my head on his shoulder.

"He smiles down at me, "Wanna bite?"

"No, I'm good." I wrap my arms around him and watch the t.v. I felt comfortable, this is as close as I could get to someone. As close as I could get to love, Keith knew that. We both enjoyed these moments, just silence. Holding each other in our arms.

"Daddy!" I'm home!" I call as I walk into my house.

"Good! I'm starving!" He says as he walks out of his room.

I hand over his food, which is still warm. He smiles at me and sits on the couch and eats it. MY relationship with my dad is, rocky, I guess you could call it that. When he was sober we were best friends, but when he's drunk, I see the side of him I don't want to see. The side know person wants to see from their dad. He yells at me for every move I make, a accuses me for everything that has gone wrong in his life.

He has only has hit me a few times, all of which Keith has no knowledge of. He if he did, he would probably kill my dad!

We silently eat our Chinese food while we watch a re-run of Modern Family.
