Nikki is just your average 16 year old. That's what it seems, but if you were to look closer you would see that so many things in her life go wrong. She is actually a very sweet girl, but because of her appearances people assume she is a bad girl. So she has to play that role, but she is tired of it. Tired of being someone she's not. Tired of her father abusing her. Tired of life itself. She faces challenges, like every person. But the question is, will she over come them?

2. Chapter 1

I walk down the hall of my high school, my black knee length boots thumping on the floor. I walk straight to my locker and spin it and pull it open. I throw some books in and retrieve my Math book. I check my reflection in the mirror I hung in my locker, my make-up looks fine. I apply some red lipstick and carefully fix my eye liner. I'm about to close my locker when I feel someone's hand slide around my waist, "Hey babe." I hear a raspy voice say.

I roll my eyes an turn around, putting on a smile. "Hey."I say and lean in to kiss my boyfriend, Keith. I pull back and he smiles, taking my hand and leading me down the hallway.

"Where were you last night? I thought you said you would be at the party."

"Oh, I forgot about it." I say, brushing it off.

"Then what did you do instead?" He asked. I understand that he is my boyfriend, but it really isn't his business.

   "I went to the movies."

"And you didn't ask me to come?"

"It was a chick flick, you would have hated it." I state matter of factly.

"Oh, okay. So you wanna go out for lunch? I found this really cool bar a few days ago when I was out with the boys." What he meant by 'the boys' was the football team. Keith is on the football team, no he's not one of those star quarter backs. I honestly don't know what he does, but he just blends into the background. Which is good for him, it's what he wants.

"Um, yeah sure. But you have to drive, my dad took away my car." I say pulling Keith to a stop and making him face me.

"Ha, you don't even have a drivers license. How do you have a car?"

"My dad's too drunk to realize that." I say with a smirk. Its true, my dad is a major alcoholic. He doesn't care want I do and who with. Which makes being a 'bad girl' so much easier. But I don't want to be a bad girl, sometimes I wish he would actually care about me.

"Ok, see you after 3rd hour." He says, he leans down and kisses my check and jogs off. I smile as he walks away, sometimes he can be a real pain in the butt, but then he can be so sweet and be the perfect boyfriend.

The bell rings and I slowly walk to my class. I push open the door and walk in, "You're late." My teacher tells me.

"Tell me something I don't know." I say in an annoyed tone.

"Okay, you have detention after school." She says with a smirk.

I yawn, "Figures." I walk to my seat and sink down into it, propping my feet on the empty desk next to me. I'm really good at playing my part, I've had tons of practice.

The bell sounds, signalling that 3rd period is over. I walk out of my History class and scurry down to Keith's locker. I see him standing there waiting for me. He smiles when he sees me. "Hey babe." He says and wraps an arm around my waist. I lean my head on his shoulder as we walk to the end of the hallway to the set of doors.

The cool air hits my face as we walk to the parking lot. I look for Keith's black Mazda rx8, we finally find it and climb in. As we pull out of the parking lot Keith places his hand on my thigh, like he always does when I'm in the car with him. I smile to myself and relax. I know when we get to the bar Keith will drink, it's just who he is. But I, on the other hand, don't. Only at parties when he pressures me, and even then I only drink a little and dump out the rest when no one is looking.

We pull up into a parking lot of the bar. I haven't been to this one before. He must be right, it is new. I think I have been to every bar in the county besides the ones in town. We couldn't go there, we might run into adults we know. I climb out of the car and slowly walk towards the entrance. I'm about to walk in when the bouncer stops me, "I need to see your I.D." he says. I groan and pull out my wallet and show him my fake I.D. Keith does the same and the guy waves us inside.

We take a seat at the bar and a perky girl, probably in her 20's comes up to us. "Hey! What would you like to drink?" She asks looking at Keith. He smiles at her, "I'll have a Budlight." The girl starts to walk away when I clear my throat, "Um, yeah. Little girl, I'ma customer too!" I tell her in a snarky voice.

She glares at me, "I'll have a Pepsi." I tell her. She gives a short laugh and walks away. I roll my eyes and turn my attention to Keith. He's smiling at me, "You're enjoying this aren't you?"

He laughs and shakes his head. He circles and arm around my neck and pulls me close to him, he starts kissing up my neck, making his way to my mouth. I wrap my arms around him and pull him closer. We sit there kissing for a while when I hear someone clear their throat. we break apart to see the girl with our drinks.

I smirk at her and take my drink. I take a long sip from it and then place it back down.

By now Keith has had about 4 beers, and he is really tipsy. He gets up to go to the bathroom, so I just sit there. I smile when I feel someones hands on my shoulders. I turn around expecting to find Keith, but instead some stranger. "Hey doll. You here alone?"  The guy asked. He grabbed my arm and pulled me close to him.

"No, I'm not here alone. Buzz off." I say trying to wiggle out of his grasp. He holds on tighter to me.

"That's alright with me. I don't mind a bad girl." He wraps an arm around me and pulls me towards him. I lift up my heel and stomp on his foot.

"Get away from me!" I tell him. I try pushing him away but he won't let go. Then I hear someone from behind me.

"Get your hands off of her, or you'll wish you had." I turn my head to see  Keith.

"Ha, what are you gonna do?" Keith's face turned, I knew this face well. And I knew what would happen next. As Keith raised his fist, I squealed and ducked down. I heard the impact of Keith's fist on the guy's face. Not again....
