Half a Story: What Never Was

Bad boy Mark, asks out goody-goody Ellie after months of working up the courage. She says no & he feels stupid. That's only half the story.

Ellie makes the accidental mistake of saying no to Mark & thinks that he hates her. That's only half the story.

The fantasy half of this story, watch as the halves make up a whole story.

4. Truth or Dare

Ellie's POV

In Wood Tech today, I was making a badge, but my eyes kept on glancing at Mark. He & his friends were paying each other £1 to do a dare. At that moment, Mark was dancing on the table, Tom was flirting with some random girl, Jimmy was in stiches & the supply teacher was in the corner crying. To keep my attention away from this, I started to chat to Brittany. We decided to give each other different accents to do, while we chatted. “Ya know, some people are sayin’ ya got yaself a secret valentine.” I laughed at Brit’s unknown accent, but was intrigued by what she’d said & had new thought going through my head. “What do you mean?” I asked, forgetting to do an accent. She looked a bit annoyed at the fact I’d left the contest, but composed herself & said, “Well, I know it’s no secret, but apparently someone has a huge crush on you. I know you know who it is, so you should totally ask them to the dance!” I trembled at the prospect of asking Mark out. I know he’d say yes, but it’s leading up to it, I wouldn’t be able to handle. Besides, how would that look for either of us? Everyone would think I insisted on asking people out, not the other way round & Mark would surely lose a load of street cred. No, I’ll just wait.

Mark's POV

Five pounds in one lesson? That's got to be a record.
