1. Game On

Zayn's POV

We sat in our usual spot in the cafeteria. The center table. No one would dare sit with us. Even on the first day of school, not even a freshman tried to talk to us. We were on top, and unstoppable. Friends since 2 years old, meaning we were a tight knit group. The fact that we could all sing in perfect harmony probably helped, too. Lately things have been a bit different, though. Maybe a bit more competitive. We were running out of new girls to make fall for us and things were getting boring. We needed a challenge. And that's when she walked in. She was perfect.

Emma's POV

I stepped into the cafeteria, a little bit confused. Things here were so different than London. I didn't need to wear a uniform, and classes were a little bit easier. But people were a lot less friendly. Whatever, I had one year left of high school, and then I could go back to London, and live my own life. I had brought my own lunch, school food is always the worst. I was standing near the door, looking for a table to sit at, when someone tapped on my shoulder. He had curly hair and a sly grin. Cute dimples though.

"Hi, I'm Harry." He had a raspy voice, it was kind of sexy, "are you new here? I know everyone." I could feel the whispers around us as he shook my hand. He took my hand and pressed his lips against it. I shivered. This guy was being way too forward. It was obvious that he was used to getting what he wanted. Maybe that's how things worked in this small town, but in London, guys had to work for it if they wanted to be with me.

Harry's POV

Her long brown hair fell to her waist, but it was anything but messy. It fell in all the right ways. She had a small smile on her little pink lips, and her eyes were wide, she looked curious. But I could tell that she was going to be a hard one to crack. The white dress she was wearing showed off her naturally tanned skin tone, and hugged her in all the right places. Her tan boots and leather jackets showed she had an edgy side. Definitely a city girl. Hot. I lead her over to out table.

"You can sit with us, if you want." I watched as the guys fanned their eyes over her, obviously impressed with what they saw. She hesitated, and once again showed how hard it would be to make her fall for me, but she knew that we were the only offer she was going to get, so she sighed and sat at our table. She was next to Zayn, with me sitting on the other side.

Niall's POV

I walked her to her next class, because I was in it too. She was smart, I could already tell. She explained that all of her courses in her old school were extremely advanced, so this year at our school would probably be like a review for her, even our advanced courses. I was impressed. Beauty and brains. It was something hard to come by. She sat next to me, and I could tell she was uncomfortable from the jealous stares that everyone was sending her. You see, my friends and I, you could call us popular, you could call us players, or whatever else you wanted, but we were just bored. We couldn't help it if girls liked us, now could we? I sat next to her for the rest of the class, our legs slightly touching. When our chemistry teacher would ask a question and the rest of the class refused to answer, Emma was always the one to speak up. And she was never wrong. She was so interesting. Unlike all the other girls at this school, she had layers. The bell rang.

"Uhm, can you tell me where the show choir room is?" My ears perked up. She was going to be in the glee  class? I nodded.

"All of us boys are in it. I can take you!" As we walked side by side, I asked her questions about her life. She was from London, which made sense. She looked like a city girl. She loved music and football (soccer). Her mom had died a couple years ago and her dad had recently remarried, which is why she had moved here, to Wolverhampton. She seemed fragile, yet so strong at the same time. We arrived at class, and everyone turned to check out the new girl. Everyone in this class had been in it since we all started high school, so having a new girl in it was weird. You had to audition to get into it, so we were all curious as to how good she really was.

Liam's POV

We watched as Niall entered the classroom with Emma by his side. God she was beautiful. We all knew that it would be a fight for her. We were all interested. It was fair game. I felt a pang in my heart as she decided to sit beside Niall. He had her all of last class, not fair. She looked at him, laughing at something he said. I had only said two words to her, and already Niall was her best friend? Mr Howes came to the front of the room and everyone quieted down. We took our singing seriously.

"Alright everyone. We have a new student joining us today. Her name is Emma. I, personally, was blown away by her audition piece, and I'd like you to all experience the same magic that I did. Emma, would you mind?" Emily just nodded and made her way up to the front of the room, picking up the acoustic guitar. She sat down, resting it on her knee. She started playing the beginning chords, and then took a deep breath.

Louis' POV

"But in another life, I would make you stay

So I don't have to say you were the one that got away

The one that got away" Emma finished up her acoustic version of The One That Got Away by Katy Perry In the slow way that she had played it, it was was heartbreaking and beautiful. She was beautiful. I knew the boys and I were going to have something to talk about tonight.

*hours later*

We sat around Harry's kitchen, arguing.

"Yeah, well I saw her first." Harry raised his voice above everyone elses.

"I know the most about her!" Niall stood up, facing Harry. This was a mess.

"Boys, boys, boys, calm down!" Liam, the leader of the pack. He had a way of getting us to listen, "Look this isn't going to solve anything. We need to let her choose. We don't even know if Emma's interested in any of us. I say we give it 5 weeks. We each get one week with her. At the end, we make her choose. We'll go by birth date. Eldest first, youngest last. Meaning, Louis, you get her the first week." I smirked. This was going to be the best week of her life.
