3. Little Girl Found

Louis's POV

These two weeks would be peaceful. The boys and I decided to take a vacation, but tell no one about it. We decided to come to Houston, we're it would probably be most unexpected. Eleanor joined me, as for Perrie was on tour with Little Mix and Danielle was on the X Factor UK tour. We're staying in a small hotel, nothing big. Yesterday, we decided to take a small trip to Galveston. It was really nice. We got to walk on the beach and do other things without anyone noticing us.   We came back a few hours ago all of us really tired, but I couldn't fall asleep. I just laid in my bed for hours, staring at the ceiling. I quietly got up and grabbed a hoodie and shoes

I turn around to see Eleanor following me.

"Hey babe." I held out my hand as she walked up to me and grabbed it.

"What are you doing here this late?"

I shrugged. "I couldn't sleep so I thought I could take a walk."

"Is everything okay?"

I nodded and smiled. "Yeah."

We walked mostly in silent. The hotel was next to a neighborhood. A big one actually. We could barely see where  were going because the streetlights we're fading away. They need to change the batteries.  We walked to the small playground in the corner of the neighborhood and sat on the swings.

"It's nice you know, to be free for a while." I said as I pushed El on the swings.

"Yeah. I'm surprised no one noticed us at the beach. Well, people do have school and work. It is Friday." she shrugged. I pushed her for another few minutes.

"Hey, you know what's a great idea?" she turned to look at me.

I shook my head. "No, what?"

"We'll have a competition. A competition to see who can jump the highest and farthest off the swings."
I smirked. "You think you're gonna win?"

She nodded. "Duhh, isn't it obvious?"

I laughed and got on the swing next to her. "Ready?"

She nodded and we both started swinging.

"Don't hurt yourself though!"

She laughed. "Don't worry Lou, I did this all the time when I was younger. And I won most the time."

We competed for a few times, but she won most of the times. I actually beat her, but only once.

"HAHA! I win!"

She glared at me.

"Shut up Lou."

I smiled. "Nanana booboo."

She just glared at me. I patted the spot next to me and she moved next to me. I leaned against the pole and put my arm around her and kissed her forehead. She took my hand in hers and we sat there in silence for a while.

We both turned to see at the other side of the neighborhood, fires taking over the houses.

"What's going on?" Eleanor panicked.

I hugged her.
"I don't know. Come on, let's go to the hotel." I took her hand started to walk towards the hotel. She slowly started walking and held on to me tight.

I rubbed her back. "It's going to be alright El."

We kept walking for another ten minutes where we saw a white van zoom past us.

"Strange." I said and we kept on walking to the hotel.

We were getting closer when we saw a girl, around 5 feet 3 inches tall, laying on the ground. Eleanor ran up to her, and I followed her.

"She's asleep." Eleanor whispered. I knelt by the girls sleeping body.

"She's been crying Louis. Something happened to her. Do you think she lives in one of the houses?"

"I don't know. Maybe we should we take her to the hotel?"

Eleanor shrugged. "I guess so. She can stay with us overnight and I guess tomorrow morning we can talk to her and figure things out.

I picked the girl up in my arms. I could see minor scratches on her arm.

"Hey El, look at her shirt." She was wearing a pair of One Direction pajamas. Eleanor slightly laughed. "Very funny Louis, come on."

We finally got to the hotel and went in the elevator to the third floor. We walked to our room quietly, making sure not to wake anyone up,  and Eleanor opened the door slowly. We opened the door to see the boys and Paul sitting on the couch.

"Where were you two?" Liam jumps up and asked us worriedly.

"We were just taking a walk in the neighborhood nearby." Eleanor answered him.

"Did anything happen to you? We were worried sick!" Niall asked.

Eleanor shook her head. "No, we're fine."

I walked past the living room and laid the girl on the bed. I turned to see Paul behind me.
"Who's she?"

"I don't know. We found her sleeping on the sidewalk. She looked like she was crying or something. Eleanor and I will talk to her tomorrow." I shrugged.

He took in the information and then gave a small chuckle. "I like her PJ's."

I laughed. "Yeah, she's going to be surprised tomorrow."

"Did you find her next to the fire and bombing?"

I shook my head. "No. She was a few blocks away."

Eleanor and the boys walk in the room.

"What happened out there?" Niall asked me.

I shook my head and shrugged. "I don't know. It's like one minute everything is quiet and the next it's war."

"Who's she?" Harry asks staring at the girl.

Eleanor shakes her head and wipes the dirt away from the girl's face. "We don't know. We just found her sleeping on the streets."

"Maybe she was running away from the fire." Liam says.

"I like her PJ's too." Harry smirked and we all laughed. We stayed in the room for a few more minutes, and then the boys and Paul went back to sleep.

"Come on Louis, you need rest."

"Yeah, I'm coming. Just hold on a minute." I sat in the chair next to the bed for about on hour. I just stared into space, thinking of what happened just a few hundred feet away from us, and all those families affected. Probably this girl lost her family. What would happen to her now?
