Meredith Green is an eighteen year old girl who is, to be honest, pretty lazy. She has no idea which direction her life is going to take, and, quite frankly, doesn't care. She gets the opportunity she needs to turn her life around, however, in the form of a completely unexpected call from a Specialist University, offering her a place among their ranks. With no other options, Meredith is forced to attend, along with her best friend Charlie Samuels, who also received a mysterious phone call. From the moment they enter the huge manor house, Meredith starts developing odd symptoms and strange suspicions about the teachers. Also, the two brothers who own the manor, Jeremiah and Noah, seem to act weird around the pupils in particular. She is determined to find out the truth, despite the mystery illness she seems to be coming down with. However, is the truth safe? Can Meredith handle the shocking facts about everyone around her that she loves and trusts?

10. Dead Gorgeous (contains mild language use)

"Sweet'art, you ain't never seen a party if you ain't bin to a Taylor Jenkins one. She's probs the best party gal at the collage, and dead fit as well!" I made a point of leaning away from the foul-breathed older boy standing in front of me, his bloodshot brown eyes wide with excitement. I could hear the wet slopping of his tongue as he licked his lips, his hands creeping ever-closer to my boobs. I guess it was my own fault, though, in a way - I did look like a prime slut. I was dressed in a tight-fitting croptop and light denim shorts, which I guess could be classed as boxers they were so short. My hair was loose and cascading down my back in a thick, glossy waterfall of blonde-ness, if that even was a word. I had applied mascara, lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, concealer, toner and a whole host of other makeup products. The reason? I guess I just wanted to fit in, to be liked and to be noticed. The boy, who's wild black hair stuck up in random clumps and his clothes crumpled, messy and torn, moved closer, breathing heavily onto my neck and reaching out, grabbing my bare waist with one hand and seizing the moment, aiming for my breasts. Shrieking, I smacked his hand away, wriggling out of his grip and leaning against the lockers which lined one wall, staring at him with a mixture of horror and disgust. By now, a crowd of people had gathered around us, murmuring and whispering among themselves. Charlie, unfortunately, was one of them. Standing with her eyebrows raised, she watched as the boy whined disappointedly, his face almost comical. "C'mon, darlin', you know you wanna get it on! You're dead gorgeous, you are!" he barked brashly, his bold statement followed by a crop of short, loud laughter. I walked closer to him, fluttering my eyelashes and playing it up. He half-grinned, nodding and opening his mouth, presumably to say 'I told you so'. However, he never got the chance. The sound of flesh slapping against flesh reverberated throughout the hallway, a red mark already developing on his victimized cheek.

"Get away from me, you dirty asshole! I would NEVER date you! N-E-V-E-R!" I screamed, really mad for some reason. The guy backed away, his hands raised. He turned to leave, muttering 'bitch' and 'skank' under his breath. I just rolled my eyes, hands on my hips. However, before he exited the corridor altogether, he turned back to me, a smirk on his face.

"Just be considerin' that party I've asked you to. You're a'catchin' Tay's eye, 'n that's good news fer anyone here. If yer wise, you'll be acceptin'." he said, winking and disappearing down a bend. With a lot of whispers and raised eyebrows, the crowd slowly dispersed, leaving Charlie and I relatively alone. She made her way over to me, one eyebrow raised so far I thought it would disappear into her hairline.

"Just because you look beautiful, doesn't mean you should go around getting into fights and getting yourself party invitations. At least bring me along!" she said, smirking cheekily. I shoved her, and she poked me in the ribs, gleaning a shriek and a death-glare from me. We wandered around the huge building like this all morning, trying to find our first class.

** Author's Note **

Sorry this is so late! I sort of lost inspiration for this story, and I have about a million draft chapters I need to desperately work on, so hopefully I'll be getting up more chapters now, and more regularly at that. As for this chapter, I had to completely scrap the draft copy of it and start from scratch. I know it's a bit short, but the story will be getting more interesting soon - promise! Thanks for reading :)
