That Brunette And Me

Amelia just moved to Britain from a small town, after having a terrible relationship with a past boyfriend. She meets superstar Liam Payne, but can she get over heartbreak, the wrath of Directioners, and being in fame? Or will she break under the pressure?

41. The Day Of.

I skipped off to my room, a feeling of joy coursing through my body. I grinned as I grabbed a sundress, the fabric light in my hands. I placed it neatly into my suitcase, before grabbing a notebook. I needed to write down what I was bringing, so I wouldn't forget a thing. I wasn't entirely sure how long this trip was going to be, so I guessed to my best ability. I also guessed that the place we were staying would have a washer and dryer.

I bit my lip and scrunched my eyebrows, trying to think of anything I missed. When I couldn't think of anything, I ransacked my drawers and wardrobe for all of my essentials. I folded them neatly and placed them in the bright blue and brown dotted suitcase. I smiled as I zipped my luggage shut, the happiness I had felt earlier magnifying. I looked to the clock, and my heart beat fast. It was already 3:45. I grabbed my crossover bag and placed a few things in it, including some trail mix, my phone, my iPod, and my notebook. I had to bring it everywhere I went, in case I wanted, or needed, to remember something. Like a really good memory.

It was a small notebook, easily able to fit in ones back pocket. It was a bright purple, and the front read; JOURNAL. And nothing more. The pages were written on with a pencil, and if I read through the pages, I can remember sitting there, the pencil scratching along the lines. A good memory was poured into the book through the pencil, and most of them were not with Jake. I had recently written some, including ones with Liam. I was sure to have a wonderful time in Hawaii.

As I took my bags, my purse and my carryon, I thought about Elle. I would call everyday to make sure she was okay. And I bet Niall would be pleased, no, ecstatic, to help. I smiled, and placed the bags next to the door.

"Elle?" I called, walking into the room where she sat. She looked up, and waved faintly.

"Hey. You leaving?"

I smiled sadly, my arm wrapping over her shoulder. She felt so small. "Elle, what's wrong?"

She looked at me, her blue eyes swimming with tears.  "Nothing."

I rolled my eyes, my voice sounding more angry than I meant. "Sure doesn't look like nothing, Elizabeth-Anne."

"Don't you dare use my real name." She spat, her face twisting in anger.

"Elle." I replied, standing. "I didn't mean to sound angry like that."

"Whatever Amelia. That was low. Real low."

"I'm leaving now Elle." I said, my eyes filling with tears. She shrugged, and a single tear slid down my cheek. I turned away, my wedges clicking across the floor, echoing through the apartment. I opened the door, my luggage in hand, and closed it. I closed it as quietly as possible, my hand lingering on the doorknob. I stared at the wooden door, more tears falling. I slowly climbed down the stairs, the luggage bumping behind me.

I opened the final door to Liam, who was grinning. His smile faltered when he saw me. "What's wrong, Ames?"

I hastily wiped away my tears. "Nothing."

"I can tell when you're lying, Amelia." Liam replied, his hand now reaching up and stroking my cheek. It was warm, and my throat clenched.

"How?" I asked, curious.

"You scrunch your nose when you lie." He said, his hand still on my face.

"So what is it?" He asked, his voice soft.

"Just a little thing with Elle. It'll be fine though, don't worry!" I said, putting on a brave little smile. He seemed partly satisfied, and grabbed my bag.

"Now we go back to the airport." Liam said happily as I sat in the passenger seat. I laughed, and so did he. His eyes flickered from the road to me, and he smiled a bit. Then he laughed quietly, looking back to the road.

"What?" I asked, smiling as well.

"I'm just imagining these next few days. We don't have anything planned out, and that would usually worry me. But being with you, I don't feel worried at all."

"I'd usually feel that way too. I'm a very bad worrywart, but with you, I feel better. You make me feel... safe."

His hand left the wheel, reaching for mine. I grabbed it, squeezing it gently.

We made it to the airport, and made it through the security scotch-free. Now it was time for the very, very, long flight.

"17 hours! Are you joking?" I exclaimed, and I was answered my a smile and a nod.

"It's a bit farther than America, Ames! Let alone Wisconsin."

I smiled. "I didn't fly from Wisconsin. I actually took a plane to Seattle, to visit relatives there. I have two cousins who live in a small town nearby. Their names are Christine and Joy. They live in some town on the Olympic Peninsula, I believe. I think it's in Twilight. Port Angeles, I think?"

"Never heard of it. Although I know some people who live in that place. What state is that? Because Emblem 3 lived in Sequim, I think."

"It's Washington. It's really beautiful there, nothing like they describe in the Twilight saga. It is super green, and there are lots of forests. There's lakes in the upper part, and I guess it's super hot in Eastern Washington."

"Yeah, that's what the guys from Emblem 3 told me."

"Maybe someday we can visit Washington." I joked, my eyes searching his face. He didn't seem bored with my relating of my relatives, which surprised me immensely. Jake would never care if I told him something like that.

"Maybe we could."

I smiled. I still could not believe I was going to Hawaii, with the one I seriously loved.
