That Brunette And Me

Amelia just moved to Britain from a small town, after having a terrible relationship with a past boyfriend. She meets superstar Liam Payne, but can she get over heartbreak, the wrath of Directioners, and being in fame? Or will she break under the pressure?

46. Quite Beautiful.

"What do you guys want to do? It's only 4 o'clock." Liam asked, readjusting his watch. We were all sat inside, at the table. I frowned, thinking of all the activities to do in Hawaii.

"I think we should stock up on some food. What about a Costco trip?" Elle suggested. I nodded, we did need to have food for the days we were here.

"That sounds good. Now how do we get there?" Harry wondered, tapping his long fingers onto the table.

I whipped out my iPhone, opening an app. "I have a GPS app on this thing, I'm sure it'll tell us."

"Why in the world do you have a GPS app?" Louis laughed, shaking his head. I shrugged my shoulders, not willing to repeat my incredibly embarrassing story.

"Well.. Ami had a little trouble one day, and she couldn't find the local shop. So she downloaded the app. Turns out she was standing right in front of it! Funniest thing ever!" Elle said, to my dismay.

"Elle!" I grumbled, my cheeks hot. They all laughed, and I just stood, boiling in embarrassment.

"Don't worry, we all have our moments." Perrie assured me, smiling. I laughed quietly.

"Not as bad as me. I have those moments all the time." I snorted, lounging lazily in the wooden chair. Liam nodded, his eyes wide. I shoved him jokingly, laughing.

"It's not that bad, is it?" I asked, frowning. Liam started to say something, but Elle immediately cut him off.

"OH MY GOD, you are seriously the clumsiest person I've ever met! You are such a klutz, like falling over things! Remember that one time when that kitten-"

"OH, we don't need to get into that topic, Elle." I shouted, my eyes shooting daggers at Elle. She just smiled evilly.

Harry paused, his green eyes confused. "Don't mind me asking, but what exactly happened with a kitten?"

"Um, nothing..." I lied. I received a look from Liam, who winked subtly. I smiled a little.

Elle's mouth turned up into a grin. "We were at an animal shelter, and there was a little girl who wanted a kitten, so little miss klutz here decided to go get that kitten."

I groaned, standing up and running outside. "No, no, no!" I yelled, shutting the door behind me. I ran and sat on the porch swing, sighing hugely. I heard laughing as Elle told the rest of the story. I had accidentally dropped the kitten, and then I fell, and it landed on my stomach. Then, it pooped. I had been so ashamed of it, nobody really knew that story. And it definitely not the only one of it's kind. I've gotten myself into millions of different situations where I've messed things up. It was the number one reason Jake got... upset with me. I didn't need to be reminded of it by Elle.

I shivered, remembering Jake. Remembering all of the situations he had abused me, kicking, punching, anything to hurt me beyond my belief. I don't know how I even stood it that long.

Liam's voice rang out softly from behind me. I turned, smiling.

"You alright?"

I shrugged, and looked over as he sat beside me. His smile was sympathetic as his arm wrapped around my neck. I leaned onto him, closing my eyes, forcing away every thought of Jake.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked, his voice laced with curiosity.

"Mm, nothing in particular."

"Your nose scrunched." He sang quietly, chuckling. I sighed, opening my eyes.

"Do you want me to be perfectly honest?"

His voice sounded strong, even though it was a whisper. "Yes. I do."

I took a huge breath, preparing myself. "Jake."

"I'm sorry, I'm so, so, sorry!" I cried, looking up at him with tears welling up in my eyes.

"It's fine! I can't imagine the pain you went through with him. That's a hard thing to go through, and then try to forget. Especially if he comes back into your life," He shuddered at the thought. "And I want to help you, Ames. I don't want you to go through it alone."

"Thank you." I managed to say, cuddling up next to him. The huge red sun was beginning to set, causing a trail of sunlight to reflect off of the ocean. It was really a stunning sight, as the palm trees surrounding us rustled quietly in the warm, tropical wind.

"I promised you I'd follow you where ever you went." He reminded me, a smile playing on his lips.

"I remember," I smiled. "How could I forget?"

"OH MY GOD, THE SUN." Louis screeched, racing outside. "IT'S SETTING!"

I laughed at his crazy face expression, wondering why he was so upset. "And?"

"Do you know what this means?" He said, turning to all of the amused faces staring at him. Eleanor was shaking her head subtly, laughing softly.

"It's time for.... SWIMMING!" He roared, grabbing Eleanor by her waist and running to the pool. Eleanor screamed, her smile huge. I laughed as they both crashed into the pool. Elle ran in afterwards, Niall and Harry following. I rushed forwards, smiling, and ran into the pool.

After lying in the pool for a good twenty minutes, the sun was fully down. The sky was dark now, and we were having trouble swimming.

"I think there's lights in this pool! I just ran into a light!" Harry screamed excitedly, jumping up and down in the pool. I grinned and ran out the pool, searching for the light switch. Liam joined me, jogging around the house.

"Where is it?" I mumbled, opening the door and flicking every single switch that was in sight. Liam laughed, flicking one in the kitchen.

"OH MY GOD! It's beautiful!" Niall yelled, along with a chorus of screaming and whoops of congratulations. Liam and I ran together to the pool, marveling at the beautiful light turquoise water, gleaming from the pool lights. They shone from inside the pool, creating an eerie glow.

It really was quite beautiful.
