That Brunette And Me

Amelia just moved to Britain from a small town, after having a terrible relationship with a past boyfriend. She meets superstar Liam Payne, but can she get over heartbreak, the wrath of Directioners, and being in fame? Or will she break under the pressure?

26. Getting To Know You.

"I have to go home, I bet Elle is writhing on the floor from 'work overload'." I joked as I wheeled my way to the door.

"Let me help you home." Liam said. Me and him were alone now, the others had left a while before. I thanked him, grabbing my purse from the counter.

"Ugh, I just hate this stupid wheelchair." I complained, readjusting so my butt wasn't so uncomfortable.

"Well, babe, it's not exactly made for comfort." Liam chuckled, pulling his sweatshirt back on. The sleeve got caught on the door handle, causing him to lean backward and frown. "Oh, God." All I could do was laugh at his perplexed face as he unhooked himself from the door.

"It's not funny!" He said, pushing me carefully down the stairs as fits of giggles exploded from me.

"Yes it is!" I managed to speak, before falling into another laugh attack.

Liam just rolled his eyes, then joked, "Do you think it would be funny if you just suddenly tipped over?"

I stopped laughing, then stifled back a smile. "You wouldn't."

Liam seemed to contemplate, before shrugging. "Maybe so."

I climbed into the car, before tripping on the seat and slipping down on the floor of the car. Now it was Liam's turn to laugh as I struggled to sit upright.

"Ugh, this stupid leg." I groaned as I managed to pull myself upright.

"Now that's funny."

We talked like that for a while, enjoying ourselves. It was nice.

"Okay, I'm going to ask you five questions, and you have to answer them one-hundred percent accurate. Then, you ask me five questions and I'll answer them honestly. Okay?" Liam asked me.

"Okay, ask away."  I replied, smiling.

"What's your favorite color?" He asked. I contemplated a while, before deciding on three.

"Pink, coral and turquoise."

"Hey, that's three!" he complained. "I couldn't decide!"

"Alright, favorite animal?"

"Hmm, I'm going to have to say a panda bear. They are just too cute!" I said happily. He chuckled at my smiling face.

"You're dimples are too cute." He said touching my cheek. I smiled again, blushing. "You too."

"Okay, back on topic. Favorite dessert?"

I scrunched my nose, deep in thought. "Ugh, that's too hard!"

"Oh, c'mon! You sound like Niall!" He laughed.

"Okay, okay, I choose pumpkin pie." I said, thinking of pie. Ah, pie.

"Alright, next question. How was your first kiss." He asked, then laughing at my grimace.

"Terrible. I was too nervous, and it was just, disgusting." Plus it was Jake, but I didn't say that, remembering Liam's reaction to Jacob last time he was brought up.

"Ah, I understand. That's too bad. How about my kiss?" He asked sweetly. I grabbed his hand and smiled. He gripped it and squeezed it.

"Best I ever had." I said. He leaned forward and I met him in a kiss. It was sweet, and it made me smile again.

"Okay, next question-"

"No! My turn, that was five!" I cut him off.

"Fine, go ahead." He said, pouting. I laughed, and started my questions, asking him the same he asked me.

"Favorite color?" I asked confidently.

"Purple. Easy." He replied.

"Favorite animal?"

"Turtles. I love them." He said, smiling. I nodded, remembering my trip to Hawaii in which I swam with turtles.

"Okay, hmm, now dessert."

"Anything chocolate. Delicious." He grinned.

"Okay, how about this. What is a special skill of yours?" I asked. I was curious, since I didn't have any.

"Well, I can beat box pretty well, if I do say so myself." He said proudly. "Show me then!"

He began to beat box, which amazed me right away.

"Wow. That was sick!" I exclaimed. He laughed.

"You are so American." He said. I shrugged. "I was born there, silly!"

"Okay, last one for the night! Favorite thing to do on a Friday night?"

"Well, I think that just watching a movie, like Toy Story or something and just being warm on the couch with popcorn is fine by me. I'm not much of a partier." He decided.

"Yeah, I agree. I don't like it much either. Elle usually drags me to them." I said.

"Okay, time to go!" He said, opening the door. He rushed over to my side and got the wheelchair, and unfolded it. He then helped me into it. I plopped into it, not very attractive I might say.

We got inside the elevator, and I gripped the sides of the chair, waiting for the ride to end.

"Do you not like elevators?" He asked sympathetically.

"Not at all. Especially this one. I'm always afraid they'll fall down and I'll just... break. I used to have nightmares about it." I confessed, loosening my grip, only a fraction however.

Finally the doors creaked open and I was wheeled off of it. I got my key out and ready, as Liam leaned down and kissed me goodbye.

"See you soon?" I asked, in which he nodded.

"I'll call you tomorrow. See you, Ami."

I slowly wheeled into the apartment, careful to not make much noise in case Elle was asleep. I rolled up to the bed, seeing it empty. Where is she?

I got ready for bed and brushed my teeth slowly. I texted Elle once, no reply.

To: Elle From: Amelia

Where are you?

I got into the bed, slowly but without hurting too bad. I fell asleep, only to be awoken by Elle tiptoeing through the apartment and slipping in beside me.

I'll question her in the morning, I decided. She better have done something good.
