That Brunette And Me

Amelia just moved to Britain from a small town, after having a terrible relationship with a past boyfriend. She meets superstar Liam Payne, but can she get over heartbreak, the wrath of Directioners, and being in fame? Or will she break under the pressure?

64. Back By Nine.

*Elle's POV*

"How do you think they're doing?" Eleanor asked nervously, picking at her dress. I shrugged, looking to someone else to answer. I just hoped they'd made up. I knew that Amelia took off that ring, and I knew that Liam would be devastated if he saw.

"Let's just hope they don't beat each other up." Niall said, lightening the mood. I smiled at him, knowing he was the only one who could possibly make anybody feel any better. Luckily, we hadn't had any 'come back' or 'I'm going to kill you' texts yet, so it must be going pretty good.

"We're almost back, you guys." I said, turning the wheel. I was now the designated driver, since all of them British people don't have a U.S. citizen license. Probably doesn't matter anyways, but whatever.

It was already 8 pm, and they've been alone for a total of 5 hours. I was hoping that Liam would tell Amelia about what was going on, but I'm pretty sure he's too afraid to actually talk. What a little prissy boy.

We pulled up to the house, our breaths held as we walked in. It was silent, but you could feel the tension in the air. We were all on our tiptoes, trying to see if they were visible. They weren't.

"We're back!" Louis said happily, skipping into the kitchen. No body was in sight. We checked by the pool, in the living room, and finally in their bedroom. There, we found a note.

We've gone out for a bit,

but we'll be back by nine.

Liam and Amelia.

On the bottom, in Amelia's handwriting, was a little note.

I think that it should be Amelia and Liam, not vice versa!

<3 you!

I laughed a little to myself. It was such an Amelia thing to do. It was her way to release any tension anyone had. She was always thinking about others before herself, that little saint.

I casually passed the note on, stepping outside. It was practically halfway to nine, so they'd be back soon. Hopefully they are back to their gross, lovey-dovey selves again. It was weird to see both of them moping around.

We settled into the living room, watching some unknown program. I watched the clock nervously as it ticked past nine.

"They're okay, Ellie." Niall whispered to me, noticing my distress. "If anything happened, Liam would act quickly, no doubt about it."

I smiled gratefully at him, knowing he was right. Liam was the grownup of us all, anyways. He'd know what to do.

Plus, Amelia still had a bit more time, I'm pretty sure.

I still kept an eye on the clock as it passed nine-thirty. Nine-forty-five. Quarter to ten.

Half past ten.

Where the hell were they?
