4. The Truth

After an hour of TV, Joe got up. He said that he was going to bed and walked upstairs. “What the heck is going on? You stared at him during dinner. What don’t you trust him?” Alex yelled trying to keep the girls from hearing her. Alec quietly said, “What was the first thing he said when you opened the door. Sweetie please be honest.” “I don’t know, um, hi?” Alex replied. Alec said, “Ha ha. I mean did he say anything about time traveling.” Alex quietly said, “How did you know? Did Alexis tell you? I outta ground her.”

“No. I know he’s from the future and I know why. Did he tell you why?” Alec asked his wife. Alex responded, “Yes, he told me why. I can’t let you rob the bank. Please think about your daughter. How long have you been planning this?”

“Ever since Amanda died! I got so mad I thought about doing something to be thrown in jail. I don’t know why. I think so I can run away from this town,” Alec told his wife. “Sweetie if you wanted to move why didn’t you just tell me,” Alex responded.

Alec started to cry. “I didn’t tell you because,” Alec started, “because I feel if I am to blame for Amanda’s death. If I wouldn’t of answered that call I wouldn’t of crashed, and if I wouldn’t have crashed Amanda wouldn’t have died.” “Now I see why you picked this particular day. The 15th of April is Amanda’s birth day.” Alex looked down as she finished, “What I don’t understand is that why you would wait this long. It’s been over 3 years since she died.” “Well,” Alec said, “I was waiting for the right moment.” After the conversation Alec and Alex went upstairs, and they went to sleep.
