3. Telling Tally's Parents

Zayn's POV-

After we made and ate dinner, we decided we needed to tell everyone our news. "Who should we tell first?" I ask Tally.

"Probably our parents," she says.

"Okay, do you want to quickly stop over their houses?" I ask her.

"Don't you think it's rude to barge in?" she asks.

"I'll call them both. I think with this news they won't mind," I say laughing.

"Okay," she says and agrees as she walks upstairs to get dressed. First I call Tally's parents. I think they should know first because they're Tally's parents and she is the one pregnant.

"Mrs. Porter, Zayn here!" I say trying to sound happy and nice.

"Zayn! How are you?" she asks.

"I'm good, but I have a question. Can we stop over for a couple of minutes?" I ask nervously.

"Of course, you both are always welcome! When should we be expecting you two?" she asks, excited to see us.

"In about 20 minutes. Is that alright?" I ask one more time.

"Perfect! See you then Zayn," she says and hangs up.

Next I call my mom.

"Hey mom. It's Zayn," I say.

"Hey honey, how are you?" she asks.

"I'm good, but I have a question. Can Tally and I stop over for a couple of minutes in about an hour?" I ask.

"Of course. See you soon," she says and hangs up. My mom doesn't like to talk on the phone.

"Okay! We're going to your parents first!" I yell to Tally. She comes down dressed in a flowy shirt. She's probably self conscious. "If you're wearing that because you think you're big, you're not," I say.

"I am fat," she bluntly says.

"You're not fat, you're pregnant. There's a huge difference," I say pulling her towards me so we can kiss. She puts her legs around me and I pick her up and then, put her down. "Don't want to hurt the baby!" I say smiling at her. We get in the car and drive to her parent's house first.

Tally's POV-

We pull up to my parent's house, but I stay in the car. "What's wrong?" Zayn asks.

"I'm scared," I say.

"I know they are going to be the happiest people in the world, knowing they are going to be future grandparents," he says holding my hand. That makes me smile.

"Come on, we'll do this together," he says and kisses my cheek. I look him in the eyes and nod my head. We get out of the car and he takes my hand. I knock on the door and my mom answers.

"Tally! Zayn! We haven't seen you guys in a while!" my mom says hugging us both.

"Hey kids! How's engagement?" my dad asks hugging us.

"It's good! How are you guys?" Zayn asks.

"We're good! Come in and sit!" my mom says. We all sit down in their living room.

"So what brought you both here?" my dad asks.

"We have some news," Zayn says looking at me. I know he can sense my nervousness.

"Oh, what is it?" my mom asks.

"Umm..." I say and I can't bring myself to say it.

"Tally, you can do it. I know you can. I'll love you forever no matter what happens," Zayn whispers in my ear, so my parents can't hear. I nod my head.

"Well, I'm pregnant," I say my eyes never leaving the floor.

"Really? Tally!" my mom says getting up to hug me. I feel my face turn pale and tears brim my eyes.

"Tally what's wrong?" my mom asks.

"I'm sorry mom. I really am mom." I say getting up and leaving the room. I really feel bad.

Zayn's POV-

"Excuse me," I say.

"Wait Zayn, let her know that we are really are happy for you both," Mrs. Porter says and hugs me. Mr. Porter also shakes my hand.

"Thank you," I say leaving to go find her. I eventually find the room she's in. "Tally, will you please let me in?" I ask. I see the door open and I see my angel crying. I walk in and close the door. "Tally, they're happy for you. Why are you upset?" I ask.

"I feel ashamed. I feel like we did something wrong. I know we're 26 and we're old enough and I know we are getting married. I know that's the next chapter in our life. It just feels wrong," she says.

"I agree, I do. I just think that it's happening and we need to accept it and prepare for it. I really do know how you feel. Don't you agree that we need to accept and prepare?" I ask.

"Yes, I agree," she says and kisses me. We go out and her parents congratulate us. We say goodbye and head to my parent's house.
