My kitty, a massive baby of 8 years now, is gorgeous and this beauty deserves to be shared. This poem, however, was written several years ago and has never seen the light.

1. 3 Years Old

Sleek fur and eyes that glitter,
Ebony and ivory intermingle with fluidity,
Thick hairs never fail to please a stray hand.

Fabled gracefulness passes him by:
When he leaps for his pearly bowl--
His toes are two too many.

Three times nine: Seven-and-twenty, he is
His age still young but his lives
I fear they run short.

Many encounters with danger,
Brave and reckless, forever.
His eyes larger than his head.
