The Trash Bin of Cliches

This is a series of shorts about the life of established author, Willow Parker.

Whilst living in London with her best friend Kennedy, Willow gets writer's block. Something she deals with by getting, what was supposed to be a temp job, at The Agency: a company that is invested in a bunch of media industry fields. While helping out with a photo shoot Willow meets one of the world's most coveted bachelors, Sawyer Huntington, one of the boys from the internationally popular group Once Upon.

Thanks to one of her new model friends, Yvonne, Sawyer gets his hooks into her and she wakes up after a night of partying with someone else's boxers on. After that it's one thing after another, starting again when Once Upon books their new music video shoot with The Agency. When she is mistaken for an extra and Sawyer picks her to play the opposing role in his scene, sparks fly, now all Willow has to do is try not to catch fire.

16. Baby Maisy: N//A

Sawyer was the first one out, unusually fatigued even with the adrenaline rush of performing. This was his first tour since his daughter was born, originally he was excited to get back on the road but as the weeks wore on he had become homesick. The face-times with his wife being the highlights of his day; he tried to put on a happy face for the tour team and his boys; only his boys knew it was a mask though.

“Guess who came to visit?” The baby giggled as Willow held her out to Sawyer. The dull tired look dropped from his face before Will could even blink. A smile lighting up his face brighter than the thousands of lights from the stadium he was just on.

“Whose my Maisy-Waisy?” Sawyer baby-talked to his daughter as he took her from Will. He leaned down to kiss his wife. “How did you do this without my know?”

“Uh, that would be me mate.” Max came up behind him and patted him on the back. “Would love to say it's cause I missed this little doll,” he wiggled the finger Maisy now clutched with one hand, “but really, we couldn't stand your moping anymore.”

Maisy started wriggling then, Sawyer turned her in his arms so she could see Willow. “Ha-ha, I was not moping.” He kissed his daughter's head, and caught Will's sceptical gaze. “I wasn't.”

“Is that a baby!?” Henry hopped in the dressing room after Max, making faces at Maisy. She started to giggle, wiggling as she did so. Sawyer had to hoist her high on his hip. “Hiya Maisy, remember Uncle Henry?” She giggled more and started reaching for him.

“If I didn't know better I'd think she likes you more than me.” Sawyer raised an eyebrow as Maisy took hold of Henry's thumb and started to suck on it.

“Don't worry, your wife does too.” Henry winked at Willow, who shook her head.

“Alright, alright, that is quite enough.” She held back her laugh. “I think she more so likes the sugar-water Henry got doused in when that girl threw the open water bottle onstage.”

“Well, lucky enough, I have another girl waiting for me.” He pecked Maisy and Willow on the cheek before heading to where his phone sat.

“So, do I get you to myself anytime soon?” Will trailed her fingers under Sawyer's shirt and felt the soft bare skin above his waistband.

“Not in front of the children!” He mocked, stepping away and shielding Maisy's eyes. Willow rolled hers, but she was caught in a kiss before she could look back at him. “Tyson will be upset if he finds out Max and Henry got to see her, not to mention Cece's also here.”

Will's eyes widened. “We better stay then.”

“Yeah, especially since their kids are past the cute stage and onto the attitude one.”

“Oy, don't go talking about my son like that.” Tyson gave Will a quick hug before taking Maisy expertly out of Sawyer's arms. “Maisy-Mais, guess who is going to be happy to see you?”

Sawyer put an arm around Will's shoulders and they walked the two steps back to the couch Willow had been sitting on before he came in. He kissed her forehead. “So I'm guessing this isn't going to be good for the sleep schedule we were thinking of getting her into?”

“She's our daughter, was she ever going to have a sleep schedule?” They both laughed at that, watching their friends faun over the baby. “I'd say she's pretty happy where she is though. Got one of the biggest boy-bands in the world at her feet.”
