Niall’s P.O.V – Eight Months Later

God, she was beautiful. I toss her small body onto my bed, and she giggles as I toy with the band of her shorts. Her small hands grab my T-shirt and draw me into her gentle lips. When she presses her lips to mine, I moan loving the feeling of her body under mine. My hands dig into her shorts feeling the pleasure melted along her panties. She bucks her hips when my calloused fingers find her sensitive spot.

“Do you have to go?” she whines brushing her lips along my jaw. God, Aubrey knew how to drive me wild. My eyes shift to the honeyed lips I am dying to taste again, and I curse under my breath. Three months. Three months until Thanksgiving, and Aubrey and I will be together again. Unable to speak, I hungrily crash my lips to hers and feel her gentle lips brushing over mine over and over. No more waiting, baby. I slip out of my clothes and turn to her. I peel her shorts away and return my gaze to her legs. I slide my tongue along the path from her thighs to her panties, which I slowly and deliberately peel off with my teeth.

“Are you going to miss me?” I tease rubbing her inner thighs with my fingers. Unable to find the words, she nods her head suppressing a moan. “Yeah, baby?” My fingers brush along her sensitive spot once more, and she loses her shit. She draws my body near to hover hers, and her fingers brush along my toned torso begging me to enter her. I loved when she begged. It drives me insane to know Aubrey needs me because I know damned well I need her, too.

“Niall, I need you,” she whimpers, and I lose my shit, too. I wrap a condom around my length and find the place I need to be. I hold her legs wide open, and slowly enter her allowing her to adjust my size. She closes her eyes as pain and pleasure wash over her. The mere thought of pleasing her turns me on.

“Baby, open your eyes,” I beg pounding harder, “please, I won’t be able to see your eyes for a long time.” She forces her eyes open, and I smile when she submissively obeys. “Good girl,” I whisper as her walls tighten around me. She rolls her hips into me needing to fulfill her urges, and not soon after long, after our names slide off our tongues in a pool of curse words, I collapse on top of her and pant heavily.

“I am going to miss you,” she breathes drawing invisible circles along my toned abdomen. Gloom lingers in the atmosphere as we regain our breathing. My hands tangle in the soft raven hair I fell in love with.

“I am going to miss you, too,” my voice manages, “but we are going to be fine. We always are.” She smiles closing those emerald globes I urged to gaze into forever. Fuck, how am I going to leave for three months when the woman of my dreams is not with me?

“What are you going to miss?”

“I am going to miss your eyes,” she whispers the cushion of her thumb brushing my temple. “I am going to miss your lips.” Her thumb travels to my swollen lips, and I gently laugh in response. “I am going to miss your sexy body,” she teases drawing a line along my torso with her index finger, “but most importantly, I am going to miss you.” Her hand returns to the left side of my torso cupping my heartbeat into her hands. My heart falls into the pit of my gut when I gather how deeply in love with her I am.

“I love you,” I whisper.

She opens her mouth to respond, but suddenly, the door swings open, and I tug a sheet over our naked bodies. Greg steps in, but when he sees us in no clothes, turns around in fear.

“Oh, for the love of God, Niall,” he panics, “I gave you a lock!” Aubrey and I laugh when he struggles to find the knob with his eyes closed. “Would the both of you care to use it?” He finally finds the knob and dismisses himself closing the door behind him. “By the way,” he shouts through the door, “your friends are here to say their farewells. Hurry now, before it gets late!” I turn to Aubrey who frowns when Greg reminds us I have to go. Wordlessly, we slip out of the bed and hop around my room fixing our clothes on. I know she is hurting, but I know we will be fine. Three months, and she will be in my arms once more. She sighs tucking a loose tendril of her hair behind her ear before departing the room. Fuck, how am I going to say bye? I can hardly face her. Before I close the door behind me, my eyes wander the room I grew up in. I see my mother tossing me on the bed and showering me with love. She tucks me in my bed, and my round eyes painted with fear beckon her to leave the door a bit cracked.

“You did wonderful today!” she beams. “May I have your autograph?”

“I love you, Mom,” a ten-year old me giggles as my eyes fall into a deep slumber.

“I love you, too,” she whispers. She raises the sheet to envelope my body in warmth and presses her lips to my forehead. She hops off the bed and strides to the door leaving it a bit cracked open.

“Niall,” Greg wavers interrupting the poignant memory, “your friends have been waiting! Get a move on, would you?” I smile seeing my ten-year old body snugged asleep on my bed. Time to say farewell. I shut the light off and turn to the door. Leaving the door a bit cracked, I head to my car dragging a luggage along with me.

The moment I step out of the house, Zayn pulls me into a hug disheveling my blonde hair between his hands. Perrie smiles before pulling me into a hug of her own. The love from my friends and family lingers in the atmosphere, and though the moment is bitter and sweet, Aubrey manages to smile through the pain. Zayn grabs my luggage and hauls it into the back of my car. Aubrey pouts before wrapping her arms around me. I peg my fingers through the loops of her jeans and draw her lower half closer to me. Her lips turn into a smile before pressing her lips to mine. God, I am going to miss her.

“Keep your hands away from those college girls,” she laughs hiding her urge to weep, “do you hear me?”

“What about you,” I laugh holding her near, “being a photographer, you better steer far from the male models.” She presses her forehead to mine and swallows a lump in her throat.

“Wait,” Zayn says, “Aubrey, you’re not going to college?”

“No,” she smiles, “I figured photography is my passion, and I’m pursuing it. Daddy would have wanted it for me.” Zayn nods his head understandingly, and Perrie smiles as her best friend finds her purpose. Aubrey laughs burying her head where my heart lies and listens to its beat. The memory engraves into my heart. For once in my life, I may not have the money, I may not have grades, but I have the girl, and for me, she is enough.

“Come on, lad,” my father beckons, “we have a long drive to Campbell University!” Aubrey pulls away from me allowing me to give Zayn, Perrie, and Greg one final farewell. After I hug all of them, I stride to the car and offer her a wide smile. She returns the gesture wiping away her tears. I begin to close the door, but suddenly, a small voice wavers behind us.

“Wait,” Lux shouts. She waddles to us with a sheet of paper in her hand. I hop out of the car and lower myself to face her.

“What is it, Lux?” I ask. I grab the sheet of paper from her small hands and see a colorful doodle of Lux, Aubrey, and me at Pizza by Mario. There is a heart wedged between Aubrey and me as Lux bites into a slice of pizza. I manage a smile and pull her into a hug. “Thank you, Lux,” I say, “I am going to miss you. Be a good girl for your mum and dad, do you hear me?” She nods and wraps her small arms around me. Aubrey smiles and grabs her hand.

“Come on now, Lux,” her voice cracks, “Uncle Niall has to go.” My heart drops. I hate seeing Aubrey hurt, but a part of her is…proud, and I love seeing her proud of me. After I close the door behind me, my father pushes his key into the ignition causing the engine to lowly rumble.

“Are you ready, champ?” he asks. I’m not sure if he is referring to the ten-hour car ride or the mental preparation to say farewell to the place I’ve grown to know as home, but whatever he is referring to, I’m ready. I’m ready because I have a father to help me, a best friend to ground me, and a girlfriend to love me. I turn to my father, and he smiles widely. I glimpse into the side mirror and see Aubrey offering me a gentle wave along with the smile I fell in love with.

“Definitely,” I say, “I’m ready.”
