17 Year old Ashley hasn't ever had a childhood. She spent most of it taking care of her little sister, Amelia. Before that, her and her sister were abused by her step dad when their mother died. Now that Ashley's in school, she's had a unwanted, sexual abuser. She doesn't know his name, his age, his reasons for hurting her like he has been. All she knows is if she tells anyone, or if she doesn't do exactly what he tells her too. He'd kill her. Her whole life she's only felt harm, hate and beatings from the male species, that is until Niall. No male has ever been so gentle with her. She gets caught up in what she thinks is her trying to protect and take care of her little sister that she forgets to take care of herself. Can Niall help her with all this damage she's been forced to live through? Or will she shut him out like everyone else in her life.

25. Chapter 25

Ashley's POV:

"And your beautiful..." Niall kissed my cheek as I laid in his arms while we sat on the bed together. "And your smart..." He kissed my ear, I couldn't help but giggle at the touch. "And youurrrr..... Cute." He whispered, I giggled again. He laughed. "Niall." I asked, trying to hold back fits of laughter. "Mmm... Yes?" He hummed in my ear. "What would you do if I ran away?" I asked. "I'd follow you." He smiled against my neck. "And what if you can't find me?" I teased him. And within seconds, he was hovering above me, both hands resting on each side of my head as he straddled my waist. "Trust me," He whispered before leaning in and planting his lips softly and passionately against mine. "I will always find you." He whispered.

*Knock Knock!*

I sighed, knowing I had to get up and answer the door. "Wait." He grabbed my wrist. "Stay, five more minutes." He grinned cheekily. I smiled, leaning back in and pressing my lips onto his.

"Ash! Niall!" Amelia's voice cracked. I groaned, climbing out from under Niall's trap and towards the door. "ASHLEY!!" Amelia yelled. "I'm coming Amelia." I tried to stay calm with her. "Yes?" I cracked the door open. "Oh- Uhm- Hi. Sorry I just uhm- Well uh- W-W-What are we doing for dinner?" She asked, cheeks heated and all. Hm, something's a bit off here. -I thought. "Not sure, why?" I said, her eyes lit up, scared on what to say. As I began to observe my little sister even more, I began realizing her shakiness, her stuttering, her flushing and her nervous stare. Something was definitely up. "Amelia?" I said, snapping her out of a daze. She said nothing, instead, continued fiddling with her fingers as her vision stayed along with them. I stepped out of the room and shut the door, knowing it was probably a girl thing and she might've not wanted Niall to know. "What's wrong?" I asked, she blushed again. An evil smile was smeared onto my face as I took notice in the real problem here. Little Amelia here has a crush.

Amelia's POV:

"So..." Ashley started. What was wrong with me? My heart was speeding up, my breathing became irregular and my cheeks felt like they were going to erupt with hot, boiling lava. God, what the hell? "What's his name?" She asked. I stopped breathing all together. Dammit "Um, who?" I tried hiding it. She saw right through me. "The boy you like, silly." She laughed. "His name is- Uhm-" I stopped myself, I don't want it to be weird for her. I mean, Jackson IS technically her brother. Sort of. "It's Jackson." I nearly whispered. Her face expression was unreadable. "Mark and Jeff's son?" She asked as if Jackson was some kind of cereal killer. "Y-Yes..." I bowed my head. "Oh.. That's- Nice..." She wasn't too 'on board' with all of this. "Is it alright if he comes over for dinner tonight?" I asked shakily. She nodded slowly. "Uhm yea, w-we could make that happen... Say- 6:00?" She said.

"Okay then."

*Knock knock* Shit Jackson's here. God I hope this goes well. Ugh. On my way to the door I overheard Niall and Ash talking;

"So what's his name?"

"Jackson. He's my half brother, which I'm not gonna lie, is a little weird. But she likes him so, I'm just gonna be supportive. And so are you."

Ugh, I was right. It was going to be weird. Dammit, I knew this whole thing was a bad idea, I could feel it in my stomach. I reached shakily for the doorknob as I tried to keep myself from throwing up everywhere. "Hi." Jackson's voice spoke softly, I looked  up and lost my breath. He was stunning. His soft, brown hair was wet and damp from his recent shower, I suppose. His outfit was very casual, he was wearing a nice white, patterned T-shirt with a pair of dark blue jeans. His shoes screamed Jackson, a nice pair of Nike's with some colored laces. I smiled at his creativity. "You look-" "Wow you're-" We both interrupted one another, I blushed out of embarrassment. "Uh, you can come in." I squeaked. Damn, why was I so quiet? I just wasn't myself today. "Heh, thanks." He laughed at my blush. As soon as I shut the door the feeling of knowing all four of us were trapped in the house got to my head. I started to feel funny. Jackson began walking toward the living room but once he realized I wasn't following behind him, he immediately turned toward me. "You okay?" -How could he not be nervous? "*Cough* I um, yea, I-I'm fine." I stuttered. The corner of his mouth slowly lifted to a smirk. (Credit to Angleica <3 I love you) "Amelia..." He hovered over me, though we were nearly the same age, his height was still insanely taller than mine. "It's gonna be fine, trust me." He rested his forehead against mine. I watched as he struggled to press his lips onto mine, I knew he knew I was still a bit shaky on that. "Thank you Jackson..." I whispered. "After you." He smiled as we parted and  waited for me to walk in front of him. That's when I remember Niall saying that;

"If a guy ever says 'After you,' it usually means he wants to stare at your ass while you walk by, don't fall for that kind of stuff."

His words burned my brain. Jackson would never do that, he's nice, he's not- and I'm not- so he won't- and I wouldn't. Ugh. "There she is." Niall's quiet, soft Irish accent somehow made everything more calm. "Amelia I need your help in the kitchen." He soothingly called me. "You're cooking?" I asked, laughing at the thought of Niall trying to make a simple meal. "Yea! What's so funny about it?" He joked with me. I finally cooled down for a second there. Once me and Niall were farther away from the other two, he pulled me aside and began to whisper. "So that's Jackson?" He asked like a childish, middle school girl as he glanced over at Jackson and Ash. "Yes...." I calmly replied. "Hm..." He cocked his head to the side. "What? Is he bad? Do you not like him? Should I tell him to leave? Man, I knew this was a bad idea." I rambled on. "No, no, no, Amelia it's fine, I'll help you with this. If anything gets awkward or something, I'll spark up a game about American football. Apparently guys over here really enjoy that kind of stuff." I laughed at Niall once again. "You'll keep Ashley sane?" I asked, he chuckled. "I'll try my best." He said, kissing my head as we both headed toward the table. "What did you make Niall?" Ashley asked him as we all took our seats around the table. "I made a phone call.... To Pizza Hut... Which is what we're getting..." Ashley laughed. "It'll have to do." She said.

Dinner was now over. So far so good.

"That was really good, Ashley. Thank you." Jackson's manners stuck out like a sore thumb, you could see them from a million miles away.

"No problem, Jackson. So, where do you goto school?"

"Ridge Road Middle"

"Hmm? I heard that that was a bad school...." Ashley scowled him.

"Ashley..." I whispered toward her.

"What?" She snapped.

"Niall." I wined, desperately staring at Niall and mentally pleading him for help.

"Sorry...." He said in defeat.

"Its alright Amelia, uhm... It's not one of the BEST schools but- I know my wrong's from my right's."

His answer was so slick, so interesting. Damn he knew his way around a situation. Unlike me of course.

"Hm... Okay then, and have you ever had a girlfriend before?"

"Ashley that's personal..." I was beginning to get angry.

"Heh um, no, I've um- I've never had a girlfriend before..."

His voice cracked. What? Never? Jackson's never had a girlfriend? He's so smooth though, so easy to talk too, that's surprising...

"Hm... And have you ever kissed a girl before?" -Okay that's it.

"Ashley!" I snapped at her.

"What?! I'm just asking him some questions-"

"Personal questions Ash!! None of that is ANY of your business!" I said, she rolled her eyes.

"You know what this is over, I knew this was a bad idea. C'mon Jackson, I'll walk you out." I said.

"No, Jackson is fine. Right, Jackson? Stay." She demanded while Jackson sat there oh-so confused.

"No. He's leaving."

"No! He's staying!"

"Ashley! Why does it matter! You obviously ruined the evening for everyone anyways!"

"I'm just looking out for you, Amelia! You should be grateful!"

"Grateful?! I'm everything BUT that!"

"Oh so you just don't want me to care anymore?! Fine, Amelia. I'll stop caring, there, you got want you wanted. Happy now?" She stormed off. Why was she being so weird? Something was wrong. I'm not sure what but something was off with her. An awkward silence slowly filled the air as I sat there completely embarrassed. My cheeks started to heat. "So... How about that American football huh?" Niall peeped. I glared at him, letting him know that now wasn't the time. "Should I go?" Jackson nearly whispered. "I'll walk you out." Niall said, knowing I was too embarrassed and too humiliated to even look at Jackson. "I'll see you around, Amelia..." Jackson politely smiled. I lightly smiled back. "Yea, um, you too." I stuttered.  Shit, I'm an idiot.

Niall's POV:

"Heh, they can be a handful..." I said, trying to make the best out of an awkward situation while I walked Jackson out. "Yea... Guess so," He casually smiled. Jackson was nice, he was a good kid. I just think that it's hard for Ashley to take all of that in, ya know, the boyfriend, the growing up. All of that. Amelia was just a little girl a couple days ago, now she's all grown up in the blink of an eye. Something about Jackson caught my eye though; Just the way he would gaze at Amelia, and how every time she needed something, he was right there for her. It made me realize how we're not so different after all. "You really like her, don't you?" I rested my back on the wall. "Guy to guy?.... I really do..." He smiled at his feet. I smirked. "Jackson." I got his attention. "Guy to guy?" I asked. "Don't. Fuck with her." I said, making myself perfectly clear. "I would never." He said. Dammit. He wasn't scared at all... Guess I just can't be scary then, ah well. I chuckled. "Well you have a good one, I'll have Amelia call you tomorrow." I said. "Really?" His eyes lit up with excitement. "Yea, now get out of here before I change my mind." He smiled, walking away as he hopped into his dad's car.
