1. Writing Challenge 1: Tyson

He turned out the light and went into Jem’s room, he would be there all night, and he would be there when Jem waked up in the morning. A few hours before… Average, that’s all she thought of herself as wandered the empty streets of south Yorkshire as it haled around her. Her exposed skin prickled with Goosebumps shuddered as the icy droplets hit her skin but she didn’t feel it, she felt nothing but numbness. Jem played back her day in her mind, how everything that seemed perfect had just crumbled before her like sand seeping through her fingers. She closed her eyes, breathing in and out slow and soft as she carried on walking down the street. His face appeared against her eyelids, eyes as blue as the ocean, hair as milky and brown as chocolate, the loose straight strands blowing from under his black beanie. A tiny cheeky smile made itself noticed on her lips, she could feel it. A smile only his presents brought out. “Tyson…” she whispered into the air, her breath clouding in front of her. He didn’t answer in reality, but in her dark and twisted mind he did. He answered in the only way she knew… lips locked in an unbreakable bond. Her hands found their way to the nap of his neck, twisting themselves in his hair. The cool air whistling around them, the rest of the world moving while they stood locked together, only movement coming from their mouths moving in sync with one another’s. Tyson’s hands travelled down from her shoulders to her hands, locking his fingers with hers. She felt his smile playing against her lips before the strong pulling of someone from outside of her little paradise of perfect. The grip on her wrist became tighter and she fort to keep Tyson in her view, to keep his mouth tied to hers but this person, one she cursed at through the embrace, kept pulling never giving up, not even a little. “Breath.” She heard a smooth voice flowing into her ear, speaking the same word. Jem cast open her eyes taking in a huge breath, one she needed for a while. As her vision started to clear she noticed the colour of the eyes that peered into hers…blue as the ocean…she whispered. His hair hung against his cheeks, almost touching hers. She stared up at him in awe, smiling at his closeness and hoping it wasn’t just another vision of what was. He touched her cheek giving her the reassurance that what she was seeing, feeling and experiencing was real. She took in his beauty again, admiring every little detail. “You almost died!” he spat, ruining her perfect moment and reminding her why she left in the first place. “I looked for you Jem! LOOKED! Because you had to wander off on one of your fucking day dreams. You worried me Jem, do you understand that?” he carried on shouting, just shouting and screaming at her about all the things she had done wrong in that moment. “Tyson.” She breathed, feeling faint. “WHAT?” he screamed turning around to face her. It took him a short second but as he looked at her he saw all the things wrong with her, all her flaws and all her insecurities. They played out above her head and he could see it, almost like he was in her mind, like she wanted him to be. His eyes were wide as he looked and as he listened. But after everything, I love you… He saw the words and realized her immense beauty for the first time and realized how cruel and selfish he has been to her. She was special, and no matter how much Tyson hated her, he craved her as much as she craved him. Tyson smiled and pulled Jem tightly into his chest, “I Love you too.” He whispered into her hair. He lifted her froze body into his arms, wrapping her in his warmth before wandering back up the street she had strolled down just a few hours ago. The walk was long, up hill and tiring but as he looked down at her, eyes beaming up into his with that same cheeky half smile playing against her lips he knew every moment was worthwhile. She was worthwhile. Tyson slowly walked up the stairs leading to Jem’s house, he opened the door wandering past her parents who were sitting glaring at him from the living room. He nodded politely then stalked the stairs up to a room he knew well. As the door opened a light scent entered his nostrils, her perfume he had brought her for a birthday. She never seesed to surprise him and as he looked around her room, taking it in for the first time, he noticed she had filled it with him because he was what she loved and he was what kept her living. Tyson rested her on the bed, undressing her before tucking her into her bed. He scooted down the stairs quickly, greeting her parents who loathed him. He turned out the light and went into Jem’s room, he would be there all night, and he would be there when Jem waked up in the morning.
