New Life (2)

Harry Styles tries to come to terms with the death of his girlfriend, and flute player in the band, Leah.

5. Moments...

Harry’s Point of View

The music for the song Moments started and Liam started to sing. My throat clogged up. It reminded me of Leah and me. Why did she have to die? I would’ve taken her place any day, but no. I couldn’t. She died.

I looked on at the crowd as I stood near the back, trying to clear my voice. They were waving their glow sticks and iPods, iPhones and anything else that had light. It looked pretty… I couldn’t describe it.

“And the tears stream down myyyy face!” Liam sang, and then turned towards me. Right. It was nearly my turn. I waited for the music, came to the front so people could see me, and tried to clear my voice.

“If we could only have this life…” My voice wobbled as I tried my best to get the words out, but I couldn’t. Tears streamed down my face. I looked up to the crowd of supportive fans and was almost certain I could see Leah. Her dark black hair, and those stunning eyes. Right there in the front row. I took my microphone away from my mouth, and went towards the crowd.

“Harry, what are you doing?” Niall asked me, keeping me from walking off of the stage. The crowd had started singing my part.

“I see her,” I whispered, not taking my eyes off of the girl. “I see Leah…” I took another step closer.

Niall’s Point of View

If Harry took another step, he would fall into the crowd of girls, who were already being nice enough to sing his solo. He couldn’t jump into the crowd now and kiss a look-alike girl. I took his wrist and tried to take him further away as I sung. It was nearly my time to sing. I couldn’t sing and tell Harry at the same time to calm down. Evidently he was in distress.

Thankfully Zayn came up to help as soon as my solo started, and as I sang, we both dragged the distraught Harry backstage. He was yelling at us that he did see Leah, he was one hundred percent sure.

“Sorry, Harry, but you didn’t,” I tried to tell him as I turned off my microphone. “She’s dead.”

Harry’s Point of View

“Sorry, Harry, but you didn’t. She’s dead.”

Forever gone.

No, she couldn’t be. I had just seen her in the crowd. She wasn’t dead.

“Mate, I’m sorry,” Zayn said as he gave me a hug. “But she is. She’s gone.”

Suddenly I realized that they were telling the truth. Leah was forever gone, and I would be forever alone, living with the grief.

I started to shake and cry uncontrollably. Niall and Zayn tried to comfort me, but they couldn’t. The only thing that could possibly heal my hurt was to see Leah.
