In The End {One Direction}

Louis was never ok with Niall's relationship with Marcie. He liked her, but there was nothing to do about it. After an almost-death happening with Niall, Louis finds the chance to escape his problems. Is this chance going to break everyone, or will it help him find his way?

29. Happy Ever After

Louis' POV

I could feel a lump in my throat. I'd only been away for a while, but things felt weird. As if the world was unbalanced. Marcie and Niall weren't in the hospital and were in natural daylight. Zayn, Liam and Harry seemed to actually have made it off a plane without Paul instructing them on what to do. I myself, felt off. It was probably just my look though.

"So Auntie J, these are my friends from Back in the UK. Marcie, Niall, Harry, Liam, and Zayn." I gestured to each of them, "I'm in a band with the guys and Marcie is a close friend of ours."

"Well y'all are just a good looking bunch, aren't ya?"

"Thanks." Marcie gave my aunt a shy smile. Her voice was gentle and sweet sounding. A voice you could fall asleep to every night and never get tired of.

"This is the quietest I've heard Marcie in a while." Harry laughed, nudging Liam's elbow.

"Oh shut up won't you? We're here! We're finally all here in the same room. It hasn't been like this in forever. Can't we just enjoy it?" Marcie flung her arms around, making sure to avoid contact with Niall and myself. "Come on. All of you. Group hug."

Niall pushed himself to the middle of the room; we circled around him, giving each other a warm embrace and in this moment, I couldn't get the thought of friendship out of my head. Although I've only been here a day, I could tell that this wasn't home for me. My home is with my friends, my family. The bonds I have with everyone can't be replaced with a new ego and a place to live. It's not how life works. For me at least.

"So Louis? You have a lot of explaining to do, but first, will you please come back home? We're the 2x3 Musketeers but we're only 5 without you and 2+3 Musketeers doesn't sound as fun."

I shrugged at Marcie's question. I would be a cliche and give the last few recent events a happy ending. I don't know if I have a shot with Marcie if I do go back but I still have El back home as well as my friends.

"Let's go. We gotta get this hair dye off if I want to be seen in public again."

"I think your darker hair looks cute," Marcie giggled.

"You're funny. Now let's go!" I raced her into the bathroom while the others watched.

And once again, the thought ran through me. Where would I be without the friends who flew miles to rescue me from a small farm in Tennessee?
