You Saved Me

I was with my friend, I was celebrating my relationship status. I had finally got away from him. From the person who made me feel bad about myself. From the person who made me feel weak and worthless. Little did I know that he wasn't going to let me get away . . . Oh no.

1. Party that ended badly

"I'm so glad you got away from him." Kaitlin yelled. We were sitting on the sofas in a bar. Having a party for two.

My name is Sophie. I am eighteen. I have muddy brown hair and dark brown eyes. Today I am celebrating my changed relationship status. I got away from Mark. He would beat me a lot. He made me feel weak and worthless. So I left. I packed my bags and left while he had passed out on the sofa. I had a flat, I used to live there. Mark forced me to move in with him a month ago. I never sold it. I would occasionally pop in on the way home for work. Work was the only time I was allowed out.

I left him a note. Telling him our relationship was over and I wasn't his anymore.

I picked up my glass of wine and sipped it. I drank too much and it burned my throat.

"Hey?" Kaitlin muttered. I looked at her. "What a jerk for what he did to you. You zone out into your own little world."

"I'm glad I left." I murmured. I drank more wine, not caring that it burnt my throat. The pain felt good. Then everything went quiet and I heard yelling. The voice was familiar.

"Have you seen a girl called Sophie? She's not tall. She has muddy brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone seen her?" Mark slurred. He saw me and grinned evily. I started to shiver even though it was warm in the bar. I looked at Kaitlin and she looked at me.

"Your name is Katy. You saw her walk out back. He's pissed, you might be alright." Kaitlin mouthed and winked. I winked back.

"Sophie." Mark slurred. Yanking me up out of my seat. He picked up my wine glass and smashed it against a wall.

"Let go!" I hissed. "I told you, I have had enough." my voice didn't sound as strong as I had planned. I swallowed. He let go of me and laughed. I ran away and tripped, I scrambled up quickly and turned to face Mark. He was holding a knife and I know what he is going to do with it.

He charged at me and just in time a boy with curly hair jumped in front of me, the blade of the knife sliding into his flesh. Mark turned and left as police turned up. Someone had called them when he started to attack me.

Then everything went black.

I opened my eyes and bright lights flooded in. I blinked a few times as my eyes adjusted to the light. I heard a beeping sound and turned my head to see I was in a hospital. I must have fainted. My wrist was wrapped up in plaster. I cringed at the pain in my lower back. I must have fell hard.

"Hello, love." A young women greeted.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You fainted in a bar and fell on broken glass, luckily there wasn't too much damage. Your wrist is also fractured." She informed me.

"What about the guy who jumped in front of me?" I asked, wondering if he was dead or not.

"Oh he's fine, at the moment. No severe damages. But he saved your life." She told me. I felt happy that I could tell him thanks.

"Is he awake?" I asked, too impatient and worried he could slip from the world.

"No, hun. Sorry. He might be awake later on." She told me and walked out of the room.
