Picnic

Emma and Zayn have been together for 3 years. It's valentines day so he decides to take her to a romantic picknick on the beach. But Emma notices that something i wrong with him, he doesn't seem to be himself. He seems more nervous than ever. What she doesn't know is that after this day her life will never be the same.

This is my entry for the Valentines Day with 1D / 1SHOT41D competition.
It's a big dream to meet the boys, and I hope this will help my dream come true :)

1. Valentines day

"Emma are you done soon?" Zayn called from downstairs. "I'll be down any minute!" I called back. I put on my other earring and looked into the mirror. The white dress was fitting me nicely. The little make up I had on looked good. I had curled my hair and it fell to my chest with a nice colour match to the dress. I almost looked... beautiful. I couldn't help but to smile at my reflection. I felt good with my self, finally. I headed to the stairs and saw Zayn with his hands in his pockets, looking kind of nervous. He looked up at me and smiled widely. I walked down the stairs and up to him. "You look stunning." He said as we both smiled. "Speak for youself handsome." I said back. He kissed me passionetly. The feeling of buttflies in my stomach was still there, 3 years after we got together, how could I be so lucky? "Now come on." He grabbed my hand and led me outside to his car. Through the whole 30 minute ride Zayn held my hand in a firm grip. He stroked the back of my palm with his thumb gently. And I wasn't bored, the radio was on, really good songs played that night. I sung along quietly and glanced at Zayn's perfect profile at least twise a minute. Sometimes he caught me staring at him, and just smiled. But somewhere underneath the surface something was bothering him. I wanted to know what, why he was acting so strangely. We finally arrived at a beautiful beach, the sun would break with the water in a while and the sunset would begin. The pink/yellow gloom that filled the surroundings was pleasant, beautiful. Zayn grabbed my hand and led me to a blanket that was layed up on the lighbrown sand. On the red and white blanket stood a big braided basket. You could open it from both sides. I sat down beside Zayn, on the other side of the basket. He opened one of the lids and pulled out several things, a bottle of champagne, a plate of chicken, a strawberry cake, bread, butter, cheese and so on, a normal picnic I guess. He poured the bubbling champagne into two glasses and handed me one. "To us." He smirked and hit my glass with his. I took a sip, delicious. The bufé on the blanket looked just as good. "When did you have time to do all of this?" I glanced at all the goodies infront of me. "Well, I figured it was valentines day and our annerversiary was coming up, I wanted it to be special, plus Harry helped me." He smiled obliquely as I laughed. "Well, I think it's perfect." I smiled and grabbed a red, delicious looking strawberry of the white icing on the otherwise brown cake. It tasted just as good as it looked, like summer and just... goodness.

20 minutes later the blanket was just about empty, we had eaten it all. Thank god Niall wasn't there though, I wouldn't get a single bite. I licked my lips, taking the last of the dinner in my mouth. The sweet taste of strawberries filled my mouth and it felt fresh. I looked down at the horison. The big sun was just about to hit the surface of the deep blue ocean. The sky was oddly pink, if you've ever seen a sunset, you'd know what I'm talking about. Zayn crept up behind me and put his muscular arms around my waist. I willingly leaned into his warm embrace. He kissed my scalp gently. We watched the sun go further and futher down, in just a pair of short minutes the sun hit the surface. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before. The sun was yellow, no, almost orange. It filled our surroundings with a oreange/yellow/pink light. I never wanted it to end. "Beautiful, isn't it?" I whispered. "Mhm." He mumbled against my head. Suddently he lifted me out of his arms, into a bridalstyle embrace instead, and put me down on the warm sand beside the blanket. He put his forehead against mine and I stared into his wonderful brown eyes. "But not as beautiful as you." He said quietly and kissed my lips. I put my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me as he placed his hands on my waist, I never wanted to leave this moment, it was so perfect. The sunset, the taste of strawberries that filled my mouth, Zayn. One of his hand dropped from my waist and he seemed to reach down his pocket for something. He pulled away, slowly and gently, then got down on one knee. The surprise that filled my body was overwhelming, was he going to propose to me? No, he couldn't. "Emma." He started. "From the first day I bumped into you that day at the beach, I fell for your beautiful eyes. They were like nothing I'd ever seen before. I got to know you, only to fall for you even more. Then, the tour happened, we were away from eachother for so long that I didn't know if I could bare. Every night after the skypecall we made I cried myself to sleep because of the longing I had to see you again. But I made it, I got home, and you were still there. You never left me. Not one day goes by without me thinking of you. I wish that someday we will have children, and we can grow old together. But there's one thing I would like to do first, Emma." He took a deep breath and pulled out a red velvet box out of his pocket. He opened it and showed me the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. By now the tears were streaming down my cheeks, my right hand covered my mouth. "Will you marry me?" I honestly thaught I was going to faint. I just cried and smiled like an idiot. "Of course Zayn." He smiled widely and a tear escaped his eye aswell, hitting the sand gently. He took the ring and slid it onto my shaking finger. He slowly stood up and smiled even wider. Then he lifted me up from the ground and spun me around in the air. I giggled and tried to take every detail of that moment in. He put me down and kissed me with a passion like never before. "I love you, so much." I said with a broken voice. "I love you too." He pressed his lips against mine once again. I really was the happiest girl alive.
