(This movella is set as if One Direction isn't famous.)
Ashalee York was always one to try and hide away, she only showed who she really was to her one friend Jay. Ashalee is shy, and a good girl (who sometimes likes to bend the rules) and she is insecure about herself. Ashalee is your average girl in every way on the outside. But on the inside she deals with the constant struggle, the rage on inside of her mind, she's bipolar. It may be fate, chance, destiny, or whatever you call it but she finds herself mixed up with Harry Styles who wants to show her that she doesn't have to close people out. But he doesn't know about the mental war the wages deep within her mind and maybe if he did know he would leave her and label her as a freak like the rest of society.

42. Hi

Ash's POV

Brent and I met up with Jay at lunch with Harry coming a bit late. Brent had taken Harry's usual spot next to me and didn't seem to notice Harry's lingering presence trying to convince him to move so he sat across from me. Brent, Jay, and I conversed us knowing each other from the past. Harry looking a bit lonely,

"So..." I began.

Curls looked upward towards me.

"I was thinking we could hang out this weekend. Movies, park, maybe volunteer at an animal shelter?"

"Volunteer?" Harry raised an eye brow.

"Yeah, I have to work on my volunteer hours for graduation next year."

Harry gave me this look.

"But I've already finished mine." He whined.

I kicked him under the table, "Don't be selfish Curly." He bowed his head letting out a long trail of breath. Jay and Brent laughed.

"Why can't Jay come with you?"

I rolled my eyes and drew a breath to explain, "Well, Jay already finished hers being the over achiever she is and it would give us time for it to be just us."

Harry laughed a bit,

"And me!"

Brent cut in. I turned towards Brent. "I need some more volunteer hours too to graduate."

"Cool." I replied.

"Yeah, cool." Harry said so obviously meaning that it wasn't cool at all.

The rest of lunch was awkward, Brent stealing Harry's thunder with every joke my Curly told, with every look the two exchanged the tension that wasn't there before began to grow. Me and Jay coughed every now and again when Brent and Harry began to scowl at each other for too long.

When school was over I could sense somebody following me. Ally. As I stumbled to my locker and began to enter in the combination a wave of blonde strands came into my side view.

"Hi," she said.

She examined me, the way I took my books from my locker to the way I draped some hair over one of my shoulders. Her breath smelled like sweet bubble gum and she was wearing too much perfume which stung my nose. She smelled like a giant citrus orange.

"I don't know what he sees in you sometimes. You aren't woman enough for him."

"And a skank like you is?"

She didn't bite back, she was really starting to get under my skin, I mean more than she had already.

She watched as I walked away. I've heard of girls becoming clingy, too attached to someone but this was just insane, and I thought I was crazy.

Her eyes burned into me, sizing me up, I could feel it with every step I took. Even when I was situated in Harry's car and he planted a kiss onto my cheek I could still feel her gaze lingering on my back.
