Forever Apart

Addison never wanted to fall in love... Even the term sounds scary, 'falling' in love was not on her list of priorities. She was perfectly fine with being alone... 9. Chapter 8

"Hey." Chase smirked as I opened the door a little breathless.

"Hi." I smiled.

"Ready to go?" He asked, motioning to the picnic basket in his hand.

"Of course." I said, taking his other hand and entwining his fingers with mine.

We walked to the nearest Underground station, smiling and laughing. As we boarded the train, I sighed. He looked at me, his perfect green eyes filled with concern.

"What's wrong?" He asked. I smiled at his caring and concerned expression.

"Nothing, I just hate the Tube." I murmured, laughing. He echoed my laughter with a grin.

"The Tube is the only way to get around London." He stated.

"Unfortunately." I muttered, a smirk on my lips. We continued our journey to Hyde park, watching the other passnegers as the came and went. When we finally stepped off the train, I breathed a sigh of relief.

"I don't just think you don't like the Tube, I think you're scared." He observed, smiling.

"I'm not scared." I told him, but my eyes gave me away. He laughed and glanced down the floor.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." He whispered into my ear, his breath on my skin. I blushed a deep pink and shoved him playfully.

As we walked along the road, taking in all there was to see, I smiled and took a deep breath.

"This is one of the reasons I moved to England," I confessed, closing my eyes and breathing in the cold atmosphere, " There's nothing quite like the chill of London air."

He nodded and put his arm around my waist, making me blush an even deeper beetroot colour. He must of noticed because he laughed and looked at me.

"Relax Addison... I can hear your heartbeat moving a mile a minute," He said, grinning, " Do I really make you that nervous?"

"Maybe." I admitted, a small smile playing on my lips. He obviously wasn't prepared for my answer because he started blushing and looking away from me.

"Seems like I make you nervous too." I joked.

"Yes." He stated, all humor draining from his voice.

I smiled and looked for a get-out as this conversation was quickly getting heated. I finally spotted Hyde park and pointed, running across the busy road.

Big. Mistake.

The last thing I heard was a car horn and Chase yelling... but it was too late.
