Forever Apart

Addison never wanted to fall in love... Even the term sounds scary, 'falling' in love was not on her list of priorities. She was perfectly fine with being alone... Until she stumbled into a smart, strong-willed boy, Chase, who was out for her heart. Rules are broken and promises are made, but will they end up forever apart?

7. Chapter 6

We started making our way to my flat, hand in hand, talking and laughing about anything and everything. I told him about my interview and he shared embarrassing childhood stories of his life in brighton. He told me about his love of music and how he learnt the guitar. I told him about my interest in art and sociology, and my thoughts on global warming. I had never felt more alive and comfortable. He truly made my heart race.

As we neared my street, I pointed to the park across the road, telling him the story about how when I first moved here, a squirrel had come over from that park and lived at my house for a full week. He found the part where the squirrel attacked me whilst showering particularly amusing.

The little girl from yesterday was with her mother again outside their house. She smiled and waved hello. I waved back, grinning. He looked at me, his eyes shining as I greeted her and her mother. As we walked past, she whispered to him. I couldn't hear what she said but he replied.

"I know." He whispered, grinning at me. As we walked on, I was curious to find out what she had said.

"What did she say to you?" I asked, smirking.

"Oh, nothing." He laughed, clearly amused with his inside joke.

"Tell me." I whined, nudging his elbow.

"She said 'Your girlfriend is pretty'." He said, his face suddenly serious but happy.

"Oh." I blushed.

We arrived just in time at my flat. I turned to face him, his nose mere millimetres away from mine.

"Can I see you again?" He breathed.

"Of course." I whispered, gesturing for his phone. He gave it to me and I put in my contact details.

"There." I said, so quiet no one but him would've been able to hear. Our lips were almost touching now, my breathing stopped.

He lightly gave me a soft kiss before stepping back, trying to read my expression. I stood there, motionless, unable to register what was going on. I suddenly smiled and closed the distance between us again, grabbing him by the collar and pressing my lips to his. It felt like an electric shock, the energy in that moment. I stumbled back, feeling my lips.

"Woah." He gasped, smiling.

"I'll talk to you soon, Chase." I said before running inside.

"Talk to you soon Addison." He shouted, before leaving. He walked away grinning as I watched him from the window.

I sat down on the couch motionless for a moment before I gushed and giggled, doing a little happy dance. Today was the best day of my life.
