Who is falling for who? will things turn south with some misunderstanding? Trust me, read, its better than the blurb ;)

2. Thrown Off to School

"Lo.... Looo...Loollaa... honey... Lola time to wake up! C'mon Lola time to wake up we are here! Look out the window!" My mother says. My eyes flutter open and I look out the window. There are several runways below us and we are in London. I see the British flag flying in the air and we get closer to the ground. I wake myself up and fasten my seat belt as we descend. Once we land we get off the plane and I take my time following my parents. I stretch trying to shake my sleepiness.

"Lola come on. We need our suitcases and our ride is waiting out front for us." My dad says. I pick up the pace and we retrieve our suitcases from the baggage claim. Then a thought occurred to me.

"Where are we staying? Like where are we going to live?" I ask.

"Well we are getting you to your school tomorrow. You have on campus housing so you wont necessarily be living with us that long." My mother says.

"Wait. Tomorrow? Already? So you are just throwing me off to school?" I say.

"Well.. yes. The new semester begins next week and we thought it would be a good idea to get you settled right away. Liverpool is a quality university and we want you to get to know the campus well. Our new house though is about half an hour away. you will see it of course, but for only tonight." Mother says.

"So when will we go shopping for dorm things?" I ask.

"Well it is 6 at night. There should be like a Target or Wal-Mart open. Once we get to the house and get our things settled, you and I will go out. I'll do some research." she says smiling at me like this is a breeze. This is honestly going to be the hardest thing. My parents probably just wanted to get rid of me, thats why coming over here so I can begin college early. Just one more year... less than a year until my 18th birthday so then I can return home to the states. Back to my old life. We reach the outside and find a cab waiting for us. Dad gives the driver the address of the house and an hour later we arrive at a modern looking Victorian style house. It looks cozy and welcoming from the outside with a big yard with a big Oak tree out front. And why cant I stay here? Why must I go to school? We get our bags out, pay the cab driver and Dad opens the door with new keys I havent seen before. He opens the door and I am breathless. There is a shiny foyer that is warm and welcoming, with a staircase leading upstairs.

"Where's my room?" I ask immediately.

"I knew you'd ask that. Your room for when you come back for break is the first room on the left. We had a professional interior designer furnish and design it to your liking. Hope you like it, but you will still be going to school tomorrow." Mom says. I roll my eyes and bolt up the stairs with my stuff. I open the first door on the left and I see sea blue green walls (my favorite colors) and all matching furniture items. Im in heaven. Damn this getting used to school crap. I want to live here. I can make the half hour commute right?

"Mom! Im not leaving!?" I declare after relaxing for an hour in my room (Big screen tv, the whole enchilada.)

"Funny honey. There is a Target like store a few blocks away. Lets get going to get your stuff." Mom yells up the stairs. I sigh and heave myself up and meet her downstairs. We reach the store and we shop for an hour and a half. I get school supplies, storage organizers, clothes, food and laundry and bathroom necessities.

"Now we need to get you a bigger backpack so you can fit your laptop too." Mom says. So I pick out a new blue backpack that has a laptop storage space in it. Once we finish up there, I am feeling drowsy and fall asleep once I get home and get in my pajamas.

"Lola honey! need to wake up and eat. Your father has a business meeting around 1 so we need to get you to Liverpool." Mom says turning on my light, blinding me.

"Ahh. Mom cant we do this tomorrow?" I ask.

"We gave you our answer. Get dressed and all of your stuff together so we can leave." she says walking out of my room. I sigh and heave myself out of my bed. I brush my teeth and hair and change clothes and get all of my things downstairs.

"Ah finally. We got the car today so Ill put your stuff in while you eat breakfast." Dad says. I nod and grab a bowl and some cereal and a glass of milk. I eat and once Im done mom is pushing me out the door to get in the car. gee.. love you too mom and dad. We drive for half an hour and soon we come up on the university. I recognized it form their website as I researched them last night. We park and are get my stuff and as we enter the dorms, we are greeted.

"Hello. My name is Jacqueline. I am this dorm, Windsor, staff supervisor. How may I help you?" she asks with a thick British accent.

"Ah yes, this is our daughter, Lola Taylor, she is going to be moving in today." My dad says.

"Taylor... Taylor... Ah yes. Lola. Cute name and accent by the way. You are on the top floor in the biggest dorm, instead of one other room mate you will have two. Chloe Andrews and Madison Staples are your roommates. They havent arrived yet, but Chloe's Parents called to let us know that they will be coming today. Just to let you know, this is a co-ed dorm with co-ed floors. But since you are on the top floor, there is one other group of 3 girls also. The top has the big dorms for late en-rollers. But there shouldnt be many disturbances. Here is your room key, try not to lose it. If you have any questions, here is my contact information, with my cell phone so feel free to give me a call if there are questions."

"Ok thank you very much!" Mom exclaims.  Jacqueline nods and smiles as another family comes in with a tall handsome boy who gives me a wink. Well that's a benefit of being on my own... we take the elevator up and find my room 1003. I open the door that reveals a large room with 3 beds. A bunk-bed and a lone bed. The room is very spacious than the ones shown online. I see dad check his watch.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"Ah, 12:20. I have no idea how to get to the meeting. Honey we should probably leave." He says. Mom gives me an apologetic look.

"Its fine. Ill be good. gives me some alone time." I say.

"We love you sweetie. Dont be afraid to call. We love you. Dont hate us for leaving." Mom says.

"Its fine. Go so dad doesnt pee his pants in anticipation." I say. They smile and give me one last hug before leaving. Once they leave, I choose the lone bed and begin to put my stuff in my closet space, in my own mini fridge and desk. I get my sheets and blankets on the bed and in less than 2 hours, I am mostly unpacked. I lay down on my bed and turn on the TV and watch the news. (Boring but Im too lazy to flip the channel.) The news reporter is reporting about One Direction, the biggest boy band or something like that. I roll my eyes as the reporter explains about a contest that they are doing. I turn off the TV and get my laptop hooked up to the internet. all of a sudden I hear a key go into the doorknob. Someone must be here. A girl with the same color brown maybe a little darker hair with fair skin walks in. She has no one with her, just handfulls of stuff.

"Here let me help you." I say standing up.

"Thanks. My parents left right away. Bet they couldnt stand to see their little girl go." she says. I cant tell if she looks like a Chloe or Madison.

"Yeah same with mine, but I think they just want me gone." I say.

"Well, you look about the same age as me, one year left till legalization right." She says. I nod.

"Same. Well... Im Chloe, from Holmes Chappel. And taking by your accent, youre not from here." She says.

"Correct. Im Lola. Lola Taylor. From Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the States." I say.

"Cute name to match the cute accent. Lovely. Plus you didnt look like a madison." She says.

"I was thinking the same for you." I say. We share a laugh.

"So looks like you already claimed your bed, I call the top bunk." She says throwing her pillow up. I help her with some of her stuff and time flies.

"Thanks for helping me Lo. You dont mind if I call you that?" She says.

"No I dont mind." I say going back to my bed. Chloe takes the TV remote and turns on the TV. The reporter lady is still talking about One Direction.

"They are mighty fine if you know what I am talking about," she says winking at me. I nod, even though I dont know much about them. She flips off the TV and we sit and listen to some music for the rest of the night and begin to get to know each other. I have a feeling that we will become very close. She offers to take me out for dinner and it turns out we have the same taste in food. Italian. We agree and go off. I feel excited as this new adventure starts.
