7. You Are Your Worst Enemy

“Gossip Girl here. Some say that Halloween is the one night a year where you can be anything you want, no matter how slutty, or naughty. But on the Upper East Side, it’s the one night of the year where we let our true selves out, meaning there is bound to be a showdown. Happy Halloween! xoxo gossip girl”

Kat was dressed up as a cat. In tight fitting black pants, a tight black cropped tank, and cat ears, she looked pretty hot. Harry was going to love it. But first she’d have to get by Liam. She threw on a coat to conceal her costume. She was super nervous, because it was her first event that she had organized. Her and Lexi had put a lot of thought into it. This would decide whether she was right for Harry’s world or not. It wounded stupid, but this what Upper East Side girls did. They threw amazing parties. She had to prove to everyone that she wasn’t just some little girl from Brooklyn.

Linn desperately needed a coffee before she went to meet Liam. She had always been kind of un comfortable with halloween, for she felt like she needed to dress up, and show too much skin. However, when she got to her favourite coffee shop near Liam’s loft, the line up was huge. She decided she’s wait anyways. she REALLY needed this coffee.

“Everyone, will pay each of you $100 if you leave,” she heard a voice behind her, “this beautiful lady, dressed up like a vampire needs a coffee.” She blushed and turned around to see Sam Bass. Apparently Sam had seem her on spotted and took this opportunity to get her alone. She thanked him as he walked with her to the front of the line. the place was practically empty. The man at the front counter scowled at him until he slipped him a bill. She didn’t even want to know how much it was. The man was smiling like an imbecile now. She took out her wallet to pay, but the man stopped her, and shook his head. Still smiling. Normally, Linn hated it when people got things because of their money. She had seen her classmates get exceeding marks because their parents had donated to the school. But at this moment, she didn’t really care, because she was the one who was getting what she wanted. She just wished Liam was here to share this moment with her. But for now, she guessed she should thank the guy who got her to this moment. They sat down at a table together.
“Why did you do this for me?” She questioned him. They had been casual friends for a while, but they had never talked when they didn’t really need to. She had seen him giving her the eye, but Sam Bass gave every girl the eye.
“Why are you dating Payne?” He said swiftly. He leaned forward on one elbow and raised an elbow. She noticed how his light blue eyes contrasted his dark brown hair. He was a good looking guy, and he knew it. But for some reason he wanted Linn. She was different from most girls because she didn’t notice how beautiful she was. She looked at him curiously.
“Because he makes me happy.” She said frankly. It was true, when they were friends, she was happy, but now that they are more, she never felt alone. She knew if she didn’t leave now, she knew Sam would get the wrong impression. She got up and thanked him, and walked out the door without even looking back.

Liam sat in the living room listening to Linn talk about how nice of a guy Sam was. He couldn’t take it. He wasn’t even nice, he was just trying to buy her affection. He stood up and tried to walk away, but Linn stopped him.
“Why are you being such a jerk about this?” She said pointedly to Liam.
“Because can’t you see he’s just doing it to steal you from me?” He yelled, “he’s blinding you with his money! I didn’t think you were like that!” He covered his mouth after he said the latter. She stood up, and looked at him.
“I think I’ll be going to the party ALONE!” And then she walked out of the loft.

Lauren and Louis had just gotten back to her loft from the hospital. They were both exhausted. They had been in and out of the hospital for the past couple weeks. Louis was worried about Lauren. On top of this, school, and her fight with Desiree, she was also helping with the Halloween dance. She really only ate whenever Louis made her. She was model thin before, and she just kept getting thinner. It was becoming very noticeable.
She looked at Louis and her heart warmed. She was so glad that she had him, or she probably wouldn’t have been able to get on with life. But there he was, sitting on her bed, looking at her like he would never leave, she lay down beside him and their bodies molded together. She looked up at him as he leaned down towards her. Everytime their lips touched, it was just as exciting as the first time they kissed. She nestled her head on his chest and fell asleep. She slept contently, knowing she was lucky to have him, her friends, and Zayn.

Desiree sat in her room contemplating whether or not she should go to the dance tonight. Lauren still wouldn’t talk to her, and she had only been on the phone with Zayn once. He told he needed time. What she had done was out of control. But she knew that. She had just felt so betrayed. But now she was paying the consequences for her stupid jealousy. She threw on the lady bug costume that Lauren had helped her pick out a month ago. She wondered if Lauren was still going as a butterfly, like they had planned. She was very very nervous, and there were still 2 hours left before the dance.

Lexi put the final touches on. Leopard ears. Kat was being a cat, they would look awesome next to one an other. Their boyfriends were going as lions. She was very excited. Her and Kat had made all the arrangements for the dance, with Lauren over seeing the final decisions. The dance was bound to be awesome. Her and the girls had to be there an hour before it started to make sure everything was in place. She called down to the lobby and told them to get her a car. She was ready.

When Lexi arrived at the venue, Kat was waiting outside for her. Lauren was still not there yet. They were pretty used to her being late, especially these days, because she would sleep whenever she had the chance. They waited outside for 15 min before she arrived.
“Sorry!” She ran up to them, ” sorry, sorry, sorry! I fell asleep, and Louis had to pick up his step sister!” The girls would have looked to say hi to Louis, and his step sister, Hana, but they couldn’t take their eyes off of Lauren. She was wearing a short white dress, wish a gold belt, making it fall over her perfectly. Attached wear angel wings. Her hair still looked slept in, but made it fall beautifully, framing her face. She really did look like an angel. They guessed she ditched the costume she was going to wear with Desiree. Once they were able to take their eyes off of her, they said hi to Louis (dressed as a carrot) and his pretty step sister, Hana (wearing a purple bollywood costume that made her look like an indian princess). The weird thing about Louis and Hana is that they were barely step siblings. Their parents had been married for 12 years, so they acted is if they were blood related.

It was half an hour after the dance started before people started arriving, but finally everyone was there. Lauren looked up and saw Desiree enter, wearing the lady bug costume. She let out a laugh. Pathetic.

“Spotted: L outside the venue building looking absolutely angelic. Glad she’s pulled through these hard times.

LP all alone while Linn entered the event with SB. Already? We didn’t think LP would give up that easily.

D showed up in a lady bug costume, looking sad. As bad as things are, we hope things turn up for her soon.

K and H arguing. Guess things aren’t going so smoothly anymore.

N and J dancing? Wack night.

While the little ones search for candy, we search for blood.
Until next time, xoxo gossip girl”
