"Once upon a time, there was a Queen named L. L was beautiful, and her ladies in waiting, D, Linn, K, A, and Hana were the most fortunate in all the land. The Queen and her ladies all had gorgeous Princes who would slay any dragon for them. But what happens when the foreign, and equally beautiful Princess B arrives on the Upper East Side? War. Xoxo Gossip Girl"

24 hours earlier.

Lauren sat in front of the mirror. She felt weird going to a charity ball with out Elton. She used to always take him as her date, and they would sit in the back, drinking champagne and make fun of the rest of the party guests. She felt sad. But there was no way she could show anyone that. She had to remain strong so that Elton would too. She truly believed he would get better. She had to, or he wouldn't. She stood up and examined herself in the mirror. She was wearing a champagne colored dress that fell to the floor, it accentuated her height, and hugged her in all the right places. Around her neck was the locket that Elton had given her when they were just kids. Inside was a picture of them with their parents. When they were still a family. She held the locket in between her thumb and her index finger. Louis admired her from the doorway. He couldn't even think when he was with Lauren, she just took his breath away. He had admired her from a far for so long, and now she was all his. He couldn't believe it.

Liam was still lying in Linn's bed on his back, wrapped in her sheets. He lifted his head and looked at her. He smiled, because she looked beautiful. She was wearing a red halter evening gown, that exposed her back. On her wrist was the leather braid that he had made for her years ago at summer camp. He was surprised that she still had it. He got out of the bed in nothing but his boxers, and hugged her from behind. He took her hand in his, rubbing the inside of her wrist with his thumb. She smiled, turned around, and kissed him slowly on the cheek. He thought she was about to kiss him on the lips when she handed him his dress pants and shirt.

"Put these on!" She told him seriously, "or we're going to be late!" He sighed and reluctantly let go of her waist. Once he was fully dressed in his tux, Linn took him in. He looked absolutely handsome. She don't know why she didn't notice it until a couple of months ago. She was also very surprised that he had chosen her, of all the girls out there. She would never let him go.

"I love you," she said looking up at him. He smiled at her. He couldn't believe that this was happening. He had loved her for a long time, but he knew that her feelings were only recent. But she said it. And he was speechless.

"Oh, I mean.." She was so embarrassed. Why had she said it. She put her face in her hands.

"No, no!" He wrapped her in his arms, "I love you too, baby, I just was taken so off guard, I never thought you could feel this much for me. I never thought I could feel this much for anyone! You make me a better man, Linn, and I love that about you." He pulled her in for a long kiss. "But right now, we have to go!" He pulled her out to the door, "I want to show my beautiful girlfriend off!" She grabbed her coat, and let him drag her out the door.

Desiree had been hanging out with Sam very frequently. When he finally kissed her, she had butterflies. She couldn't contain her excitement. She went straight to Lauren's after, and told her all about it, loving how Lauren was equally excited for her. She really liked doing things with Sam. He made it seem like she was the only one in the world. He always paid, and showered her with gifts. It was a fairytale romance. Everything a relationship was supposed to be. But why didn't it feel right? Whenever she put her head down at night, images of Zayn would float through her head. She heard a knock at her door. Her maid came to tell her that "Mister Bass" was there for her. She was wearing a sliver cocktail dress. She knew she looked good, but the look on Sam's face when he saw her made her feel perfect. This would work out.

Kat and Harry were in her kitchen just finishing up the dishes. He had come over and made her dinner before the event. He set up candles, and a living room picnic. He was never really a romantic guy, but with Kat he couldn't help himself. He just wanted to see her smile. But she smiled whenever she saw him, she couldn't help herself. Whenever she caught a glimpse of his floppy curls, his piercing eyes, his giant smile, or heard his infectious laugh, she felt all light headed. She had never felt this way about anyone before. Neither had he, it just felt like it was in the stars. She threw on her purple, strapless, floor length dress. She put her hair in a nice updo, and put on hour favourite jeweled, gold, headband. He already had his slim, black tux, with a simple bow tie. He looked adorable, she just wanted to run her hands through his perfectly messy hair. And she could if she wanted to. They were home alone, as their parents were out to dinner. And Liam was at Linn's, again. Even so, Liam was being really good about things lately. He seemed to have accepted that Harry was going out with his little sister, although he still kept a watchful eye. She stepped over to Harry, and pulled her fingers through his soft hair. He gave a low laugh, and kissed her on the forehead. And she giggled as he kissed her nose. Then they were entranced in a deep kiss.

"We have to go," she said breathlessly, "we can't be late!" He groaned, as she pulled him out the door.

Lexi sat in her room. She really didn't want to go tonight. Things with Niall had not improved. He barely even noticed that he was spending less and less time with her, and more time with Jemma. She was happy that they were reconnecting and everything, but it seemed to be putting their relationship on hold. He hadn't even asked her to go to the charity ball with him tonight, she had to bring it up, and ask him! She put on her white ball gown, and headed for the door.

Zayn waited for Hana in the lobby of her apartment building. He was a bit nervous. As of late, he's been nervous a lot. It used to be so easy with Hana, but ever since that night when she fell asleep in his arms, something was different. He woke up to the smell of her on his clothes, and in his hair. He really quite enjoyed it. Hana had always been just a friend to him. He had always noticed her beautiful eyes, and the graceful way that she moved from years of dance training, but it had never been more because he had been so distracted with Lauren and Desiree. Now that they were doing there own thing, was Hana really the one all along? As he asked himself questions about "the one" his mind flashed with memories of Des. Or maybe not. But when he saw Hana, he forgot all about Des. She was wearing a creme dress, that showed her gorgeous back, and her naturally tanned skin. Breathlessly, he held out his arm for her to take, and they made their way to his family's town car. The event was beautiful. Desiree's mom, Blair had organized it, so naturally it was going to be perfect. Perfection ran in the family. Des was pretty happy to arrive on the arm of Sam Bass, as his father, Chuck had given the largest donation, and it took place in his hotel, The Empire. His mom and Desiree's mom stayed at opposite ends of the room, for they still were not talking after their huge break up back in the day. But she was perfectly content being there with Sam. She met up with the rest of the gang (giving an awkward hug to both Zayn and Hana) and they chatted about the upcoming arrival of the exchange students. All heads turned as they heard the clicking of Prada heels. A tall, dark haired beauty had arrived, she had a very classy European way to her. She was wearing a sparkley black dress, that fell just above her knees. Perched on her head was a red baret. She stopped in front of Desiree.

"Bonjour," she said in a perfect French accent, her lips curling in a completely sexual way over the word, "You are Desiree, non? I will be ehmm visiting at your maison, oui?" It was Brigitte, Desiree's assigned exchange student. She nodded her head, as she caught Sam looking the new girl up and down.
