36. Move

-ALEXANDRIA’S POV-

I ran through the door of the apartment, and went straight to Zayn’s room. Tears streamed down my face as I curled up under the blankets, and with each breath, they got shorter.

“Love, are you okay?” I could feel Zayn’s hand stroking my hair.

“P-please guys j-just leave me alone,” I sobbed.

“But Alex-“ I interrupted Liam.

“Please.” I looked up and saw Louis, and begged with my eyes. “Just for a l-little bit. I’ll be f-fine.” Louis looked up at the guys and nodded. I could hear their footsteps as they walked away. Not long after, my sobbing led me to sleep.

-LOUIS’ POV-

“We can’t keep letting her get hurt,” I said. We all walked over and sat down on the chairs, and leaned in.

“She’s already been hurt too much…” Liam muttered.

“Not just by her father though.” Niall looked up at me, anger showing through his eyes. Scoffing, I leaned back and looked up at him.

“And I wonder who planned for that to happen,” I said.

“Are you accusing me of trying to hurt Alex?” Niall stood up and walked over.

“Trying? You’ve already done it.” I stood up and looked him in the eye.

“Says the guy who cheated on Chloe.” I looked at him as he said those words, and raised me hand to-

“STOP!” Harry stood between us, his tall figure blocking us.

“Harry’s right lads. This isn’t about us, it’s about finding a way to stop Alex from getting hurt.” Zayn looked up, tears in his eyes. I walked over and sat down on my chair, not looking at Niall.

“And suggestions?” I said.

“Well… we could go to the police?” Liam suggested.

“Or…” Harry mumbled.

“Or?” I asked.

“We could move.”

“I’ve already thought of that.” I sighed. “But we can’t for so many reasons.”

“And they are?” Niall asked.

“Well first, she’s 17- not 18. Technically, she has to stay with her father- unless he signs the papers.”

“Bloody hell, it’s not like he’s doing that,” Zayn muttered.

“And whens her birthday?” Liam asked.

“September 18th…” Niall muttered.

“Blo- and you propose that we stay here till she’s 18? Guys… it’s January,” Harry said.

“Nine days till my birthdayyyy!” Zayn sang. We all laughed, we needed that. The room felt so tense. Liam jumped up, and startled us all.

“GUYS!”

“Shhh… Alex is asleep, remember?” Harry looked around the room, and made sure Alex was still asleep.

“Oh, sorry,” Liam whispered. “But I have a brilliant plan!”

“Well? What is it?” I was getting impatient.

“Her mum! We could ask her mum to sign the papers!” Liam’s face was glowing.

“B-“

“Zayn, sorry. Lads, I know her mums in the hospital, but it’s the only way. We need to talk to her.”

“Liam’s right guys… she’s our only hope,” I said. Niall shook his head and sighed.

“But guys, she knows nothing about what he’s doing, we can’t just tell her,” Niall said.

“We have to take that chance.” I looked up. “We could take Alex for a visit, and while someone… lets say JUDITH-“

“Why Judith?” Zayn asked.

“Didn’t you guys know…?” Niall asked

“Know what?” Harry said.

“Judith is Alexandria’s friend from kindergarten… they’re like long lost friends.” I said.

“Oh I see,” Liam said.

“Anyways, while Judith takes Alex out for coffee, we could tell her.” I looked up. “We have to.” I took my iPhone out of my pocket, “I’ll call Judith. You guys, go get Alex ready to leave. It’s 3, and hospital visiting hours end at 6.” I dialed a number, and heard a few beeps.

“Hello?”

“Judith? It’s Louis…”
