Life Of a Direction-ette

Try being that girl that everyone is used to not being popular. That girl that doesn't win anything. Try. Try this: Try being that girl that ends up being famous. That girl that everyone wants to be like, but secretly hates. Also, try being all those girls and not knowing what to do about it.

Charlie didn't ask for fame. And yet, it consumed her.

Charlie was used to being an outsider. Y'know. That one girl that everyone knew but never talked to. She didn't even think that she would win the direction-ette contest. And she sure as hell didn't think she would fall for someone in one direction. When things get tough, she wants nothing more than to go home with her mom. Some things aren't so easy.

19. Chapter 19 - a thank-you-for-the-thousand-views chapter 1/4

"Charlie, you have to get up!" Jessica yelled at my sleeping body. I had passed out in an armchair and had no want of getting up and time soon.

I had a Cody Simpson throw blanket around me and some green fuzzy slippers on my feet.

"I want to sleep! Leave me alone!" I told her. Jess sighed with obvious irritation. I felt a tug and then another before the blanket was ripped out of my grasp.

"Stop it!" I pleaded but Jess had no remorse.

"Nope. You cannot miss your flight!" Jess told me, I groaned in response once I felt Allison pull me off the chair. Her hands were cold to the touch and her finger tips were smooth against my much tanner skin as she pulled me.

"Lets get you packed - and groomed." She told me once she saw the monstrosity that was my hair. Jess and Ally both gave me a face before they pulled me up stairs.

I had two fully packed suitcases that came with and a carry on bag. The plan ride consisted of Zayn asking me, "Are you gonna speak to me?". I only  answered by promptly giving him the finger. He'd always laughed it off but he knew I wanted him to shut the fuck up.

He did shut up eventually. I giggled when he did. He had a noticeable  pout when he stopped and it only made me laugh harder. He rolled his eyes as if I was trying to be funny when he actually was the funny one.

Once we landed, we lugged our suitcases off the conveyor belt at LAX. When we were kind of surprised by fans.  Not a lot because there were only about five.

"C-can we have a picture?" A redhead asked us. My mouth was moving but no words were coming out.

"Sure. I'd love that." I spat out finally. I looked like a gaping walrus.  Zayn wrapped an arm around my shoulders as the five crowded around us for a picture. I think  was the only smiling so hard. It was really unnecessary for me to smile so hard but I was really surprised that anyone wanted to take a picture with me. I looked a mess with a messy bun (Ally cannot do hair that well) and I was wearing green sweat pants.

We, Zayn and i, were late getting back to the boys. I was partially the blame for it because - I know it's a dumb reason to be late- I had a hankering for some ice cream. Not just any ice cream! Some Haagen Dazs ice cream - three scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate and assorted sprinkles, gummy bears, hot fudge, caramel and whip cream in chocolate sprinkle covered waffle bowl- is the best ice cream in the universe. I made Zayn try it since he didn't believe me. It was funny since he got a lot on his face from trying to pry it out of my hands. Thank god that I was able to keep a lot of it in the bowl. We shared it since we were in a big hurry. Zayn had to be there for sound check and I had to be there... to just be there. I'm not sure what  was there for. I guess I was just supposed to be there.

"So what's the scoop, so far?" Jess asked me. I was siting on the counter in the hotel bathroom. I think the room number was 318 and I had no business being in the hotel room while the boys were performing.

"Nothing much, just dealing with the boys and worrying about my mom. Is she doing any good?" I questioned her. I went to place a piece of hair behind my right hair as I let out a breath. I had on some shorts and Liam's batman tee. I really liked it, because it fitted well on me.

"Is she?! She's doing great. Like really good." She spoke. I only nodded, being happy to hear that.

"Back to the boys! Why were you and Zayn kissing on your bed? Don't give me that crappy answer you think I always fall for." She demanded.  I let out a huff before I said,  "It kinda happened. Nothing major."

"Nothing major? You were red to your temples but that was nothing major?" She asked me.

"Yep." I said simply. I didn't really know what to say to that. I wasn't gonna be like, "Oh! It was the best kiss of my entire life!!!!" It was just a peck. I wasn't going to over analyze it.

"Well, what's up with Liam? Any action there?" She pressed. She was always one to pester me about boys even though I was very set being all about KC. Its was always KC this, KC that, never just ME.

"Nope. He's back with Danielle. I didn't really think things were gonna work out that well for us anyway. He's like a big brother to me, you know?" I told her. Liam's the sweetest guy ever but he's like my big brother.

"Well what about Harry? Heard he's been quite the kisser."

"Yep. But i'm not sure. I'm not looking for anyone until my gets out of the hospital. She's been there for a while, don't you think? I just want to focus on my mom." I explained. I didn't think she understood me when I talked about my mom like I was just talking noise.

"Opps! Gotta go! Call you later!" She yelled through the phone for no good reason.
