Still The One

He was the one who bullied me,the one who teased me,the one who laughed at me,the one who I fell in love with.

6. Simple Days

I was walking down the cold street, on the way back from a friends party. My friend, Lexi, was supposed to drive me home, but dumped me for some guy that I have never seen before. I did drink a little, I wasn’t drunk though. I pursed my lips as I walked down the empty suburban street. I wished Zayn was here, he would have never dumped me for some girl, but he was gone. He went to his uncle’s for the week. I sighed and just kept walking. It was merely midnight. I walked a little ways down the road, when suddenly, a black mini van, it might have been blue, I couldn’t tell, pulled up to the curve beside me. In the car was a man, not much older than me, with curly, brown hair, and green eyes.

“You need a ride? You seem kinda lost… and drunk.” He asked in a husky voice.

“First of all, what are you doing out at midnight asking girls if they need a ride? And secondly, I am NOT drunk.” I said in a snotty voice.

“It’s the prime time. And, really? You sure look like it.” I rolled my eyes and started walking. Jerk.

“Ok, wait. I am sorry. That got out of hand. I’m Harry.” He said holding out his hand.

“Nina.” I said and glared at him. I turned around and started walking. I didn’t like this ‘Harry’ guy.

“Ah, playing hard-to-get. Typical. Please, just let me drive you home. It’s the least I can do after being such a jerk.” He pleaded. He jumped out of the car and followed me.

“Creep.” I muttered under my breath. He grabbed on my shoulder and I turned around.

“I know, I made a horrible first impression. I’m sorry. Can we start over?” he asked with puppy dog eyes. “Hi, I’m Harry.”

“And I don’t care.” I said and started walking. “By the way, I’m Nina.” I said with a flirty wink. A huge smile spread across his face.

“Do you like, want to go to the park or something? Get to know each other?” He asked.

“That would be lovely.” I replied. He opened the passenger door.

“After you.” Harry said with a smile. I hopped in and buckled my seatbelt. On the way to the park we chatted about life, our interests, stuff like that. Once we arrived at the park, I got out of the car and stepped into the cool, spring air. I took a deep breath. Harry came around with a picnic basket.

“Umm, how did you know that you were going to have a picnic tonight?” I asked mysteriously. He shrugged.

“I didn’t. I just packed up stuff just in case I got hungry.” He answered cooly. I nodded my head and we sat down under a willow tree. We sat and ate, and talked for hours. I laughed at his stupid jokes and he laughed at mine.

“So, shouldn’t you get home? I mean, aren’t your parents worried about you?” Harry asked softly.

“My parents are out of town for the next few days, and my brothers don’t give a crap about me. Why? Do you want me to go home?” I asked.

“No, no, no, its just I don’t want you to get into trouble.” He replied truthfully. “I am having a great time.”

“I am getting pretty tired,”

“Do you want me to drive you home?” He asked quickly. I smiled.

“I would love that.” On the drive home, we kept talking. When we pulled in to my drive way I yawned.

“Hey, do you want to come inside?” I asked.

“Sure, if its OK with your brothers.”

“They don’t care.” We came inside my large house and went into my bedroom. My bedroom was quite large, with dark purple walls, magazines were everywhere, and my laptop was on top of my zebra print comforter on my queen sized bed. My clothes were neatly folded and stacked in piles on my floor, waiting to be taken care of, and my makeup was neatly organized on my vanity. Over all, my room was pretty clean. We sat on my bed and talked till 2 am. He kissed me, and then I remember is falling asleep.

I woke up and a note was on my side table. It said:

I had so much fun with you last night. I am sorry that I didn’t stay, I didn’t want your brothers come into your room and see a strange guy in there. Thank you so much for the amazing night.

Then it had his phone number at the bottom. I smiled and put his phone number in my phone. I sighed and flopped down on my bed and thought about last night. The picnic, everything, it was perfect. When we kissed, sparks flew. I smiled and got up and went down stairs. My idiot brothers were playing football inside the house. They were both 20, the should know not to play football in the house. My brothers, Braden and Brandon, were identical twins. They were both tall, with light green eyes, and Braden had some freckles on his nose. I rolled my eyes and started making breakfast. Those days were the simple days, everything was calm and easy. Little did I know back then, that my life was about to change, forever.
