Holding On

Rose, the word ponders around my crammed mind and all it ever picks out is the color red. Red, the color of love, anger, blood. My name is inexplainable. My life, was inexplainable, until I met him.

2. Clumsy

My eyes directly found their way to his pale blue iris's. I gazed into them, amazed that such beauty even existed.

"You have...beautiful eyes." The random compliment flew out of my mouth before I could hold it back.  I mentally cursed myself out, knowing how pathetic I sounded. The man chuckled and raised his hand higher, hinting me that it was there.

"Oh my gosh...I'm so sorry..." I flushed as his large hand cupped mine.

"I-I'm ugh...Rose." I felt the pink in my cheeks grow in brightness.

"Louis." The handsome lad repeated while winking. I weakly smiled and nodded at him, still embarrassed about the previous compliment that dashed out of my nervous lips.

"Are you from around here?" I choked out. Louis showed a toothy grin. His smile was gorgeous. No, he was gorgeous. His brown strands were carefully gelled up into a delicate quiff. A blue and red striped shirt stuck perfectly to his broad frame. His biceps were surprising large and toned, I giggled and looked down at my small feet when the thought of how good he must look shirtless waltzed into view.

"Just moved in down the street." I scanned the area, not knowing where exactly. He chuckled once more.

"Over there, Love." He pointed to a large brick house with a garden in front. I shifted my head to the direction he was pointing in.

"Beautiful house." I smiled admiring its detailed architecture.

Suddenly, Louis' facial expression changed. He was staring at me nervously as the curves of his lips began to form a frown.

"I don't want to seem a bit rude, but why's there a fresh bruise on your cheek?" Instantly his hand skimmed over the swollen area. I squeezed my eyes shut and winced in pain. I heard him gasp as the pain started to reside.

"Oh my gosh...I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." A crystal droplet slipped from my lashes and trickled down the bruise.

"It's okay...I'm used to it..." I mumbled. Louis looked at me puzzled.

"Wh-what?" He asked, worry filling his voice. I bit my trembling bottom lip down.

"I-I have to go." At that moment I jogged as far away as I could. He was calling after me, his loud footsteps on my heels.

"Wait!" He exclaimed behind me. I stopped abruptly, causing him to bump into my back. I screamed as I lunged forward and landed on the cracked sidewalk

"Fuck!" Louis shouted, crouching down beside me.

"Are you alright?" He questioned while helping me get back onto my shaking feet. My phone started vibrating in my pocket, and my eyes widened as I stared at the time.

"I have to go..." I left his unanswered question dwindling in the air as I jogged towards the hell hole.
