The Blonde Boy

Niall Horan has just moved to Seattle and is utterly lost in this new world. His mum and dad fight constantly, his sister has an abusive boyfriend, and he can't escape the madness going on in his new home. That is, until he meets Peyton.

Peyton LaCosta has lived in Seattle her whole life. She seems to have everything in life she's ever wanted- amazing friends, loving parents, and not to mention a great home life. Yet even with everything she has, she feels completely lonely. That is, until she meets Niall.

A/N: Sorry I haven't been updating! All this week was exams and I wasn't really allowed on any electronics  until now, so hope my writing hasn't gotten any worse now that my brain is fried from hard tests. Enjoy!

I wake to the stir of movement, not opening my eyes. Niall's warm skin detaches itself from mine as he slowly moves towards the edge of the bed. An annoying ringtone goes off, and assuming it's his I ignore it and keep my eyes shut. Before he picks it up I feel breathing on my forehead, and then the warmth of his lips replace the cool air. I'm about to smile, but then I realize he'd know I was awake-and that would be embarrassing. He removes his kiss from my forehead and footsteps go to the other side of the bed, picking up the still ringing phone.

"Hello?" He slightly whispers, trying not to wake me (not that I wasn't already awake).

The soft murmur of someone on the other line was heard as he pads his feet across the floor, pacing back and forth.

"No, I'm not alone." Then he walks towards the door and opens it quietly, swinging it shut on his way out. I flutter my eyes open and jump out of bed slightly. I walk to the door and press my ear up against it, hearing Niall's voice right across from me.

"I'm staying with Peyton." More mumbling.

"Peyton LaCosta. She's a friend from school." He continues

"Yeah, I like her. A lot." This time he whispers into the phone, like he was trying to hide it. I blush at the fact that he was talking about me and then feel him lean against the door. I jump away, falling back into bed silently pretending to be asleep. He snaps the phone shut and the door opens.

"Peyton, Peyton wake up." He says gently nudging me. I open my eyelids slowly and stretch, adding in a yawn to make the effect of sleepiness more apparent.

"Oh, hi." My morning voice is unleashed and I laugh, clearing my throat. "Sorry about that.." Niall chuckles and grabs my hand to pull me out of bed. I decide to stop pretending I didn't hear him on the phone.

"So..who was that on the phone?" I ask. His face goes red and he swallows, making his adam's apple bulge for a moment.

"My sister." His Irish accent is raspy as he gulps again. I had to admit- it was pretty hot. His neck muscles flex, making veins pop out on both sides.

"Oh." I shrug my shoulders and comb my fingers through my hair, trying to hide my disappointment as he doesn't elaborate. He sits down next to me on the soft sheets and puts his hand down next to my leg.

"She wanted to know where I was. I told her I was here, and she seemed a little worried considering all I left her was a note on her bedroom door and had only met you yesterday." He explained to me his sister's part of the conversation as I listened patiently for him to finish.

"Anything else?" I say, urging for him to say something about him 'liking me a lot'. He looks at the ground and shakes his head no. Now I had to mention it.

"I heard the conversation Niall," I say cautiously. He removes his staring gaze from the floor to my face. Our eyes blaze into each other's as I wait for his reaction.

"Oh, you heard that, huh?" He blushes and hangs his head low with bad posture. I reach up and hold his shoulder, leaning my head on it. I contemplate my reply and speak.

"Yeah," I manage to get out, heavily breathing.

"And I was just thinking that I, um, agree." I finish my sentence with breaths so quick they were almost gasps. My heart was beating hard against my chest, pounding into my ribs and making my body shake with goosebumps.

"I don't want to rush it. I just met you yesterday, but I already feel really connected to you. I l-like y-you a-a lot." The last part took me a while to get out, my voice stuttering between words. I practically jump as my chin is brought up by Niall's finger to his face.

"I'm so glad you feel that way." He simply states before hardly pressing a kiss to my soft lips. His embrace seems to warm my whole body as our mouths move in sync. As he pulls away I realize that he was my first kiss, and I was glad.
