The Blonde Boy

Niall Horan has just moved to Seattle and is utterly lost in this new world. His mum and dad fight constantly, his sister has an abusive boyfriend, and he can't escape the madness going on in his new home. That is, until he meets Peyton.

Peyton LaCosta has lived in Seattle her whole life. She seems to have everything in life she's ever wanted- amazing friends, loving parents, and not to mention a great home life. Yet even with everything she has, she feels completely lonely. That is, until she meets Niall.

9. Date Night

As I pull away from Peyton's lips, I realize she is my first kiss, and I'm glad about that. Just then an idea pops into my head.

"Come on Peyton, let's go," I say grabbing her arm and pulling her off the bed. A look of confusion crosses her face as I take her hand, leading her out of the guest room.

"Where are we going?" she asks as I walk her to her car.

"We are going on a date, Miss LaCosta." I shut her door, jump over to my side and get in the car. When I start the ignition her CD starts blaring, my ear drums practically bursting as music pumps through the closed doors. I turn the dial down as quickly as possible. She just shrugs her shoulders.

"What can I say, I like my music loud." I laugh and nod dramatically, her point definitely proven true. "So where exactly are you taking me?" she asks, turning the music from silent to slightly loud.

"It's a surprise." I smile simply. To be honest though, I have no idea where I'm going. So I just start driving around the city, trying to think of ideas as I frantically search for somewhere to go. Finally I get an idea. "Ever been to see a live band?" I was hoping her interest in loud music would draw her to my last-minute idea.

"Well, no, but I'm not sure I'd like it." She said, a frown playing on her face.

"Oh trust me, you'll like it." I grin foolishly and pull into the parking lot of a lodge. After opening Peyton's door for her, we walk in side by side. It's packed, and the music has already started playing. Everyone around us is dancing and sweating like crazy, making the room have a funny smell.

"So this is your idea of a date?" she says with a smirk, grabbing my hand and pulling me into the middle of the mob of sweaty bodies.

"If you don't like it we can leave.." I shout over the blasting of pure rock, which made the floor vibrate.

"No, I like it." She smiles and puts her arms on my shoulders. I put mine around her hips. We sway to the music, unlike everyone else in the place who were grinding against each other. That's what I like about her, she was different and didn't care if she stood out. Soon the rock turned to slow music and we fit in with everyone else. It was quiet enough to get a few words in.

"So how long will you be staying at my house?" she asks, pushing her bangs out of her face.

"As long as I can until you kick me out or my mom comes back."

"Well, I wouldn't mind having you stay as long as you want. We still have to tell my mom though.." Hesitation enters her voice.

"Fine by me. Now, where were we?" I wink, taking her hand and twirling her around. As the slow song comes to an end and we dance to a few other songs, her eyes suggest shes getting tired. I didn't even notice we'd been here for hours. It was 7:00 and we hadn't eaten anything all day.

"Let's get out of here, I'm hungry!" I shout over the music. She nodded in agreement and we headed out the door. On our way to Taco Bell as she called it, I turn down the music to a soft murmur. By the time I look over to talk to her she's sound asleep, snoring as her chest bobs slowly up and down.

I decided she was more important than my hunger and drove back to her house. When we pull in the driveway I quietly walk to her side, slipping the door open and pulling her into my arms. She goes unmoving as I lock up the house and put her in bed. She's peaceful in sleep and I decide to grab some shuteye. I crawl into my bed and hear a scream as I slip under the covers.

Its Peyton's mom.
