4. Running Again

I was still walking and listening to my music, I'm surprised my battery has lasted so long. I was terrified alone in the dark in a random place, sounds pretty safe. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a shadow form in the streetlights it was moving quite fast behind me. I decided to walk a bit faster and so did the shadow, I gradually got faster and ended up at a running pace. I turned and soon regretted the idea because, he was directly behind me, I turned back and in my way was a street sign, i ran straight into it winding myself. The guy chasing me had something in his pocket, I froze scared of what it was and what he planned to do.

"GIVE ME YOUR BAG" he yelled but only loud enough for me to hear,

"Look I do- " "SHUT UP AND GIVE ME YOUR BAG" I gave him the bag without hesitating. I was still on the floor too scared to move, he started kicking me I was wiggling in pain trying to escape his foot then he bent down over me and grabbed my top ripping it off of me, I screamed but there was no-one around to hear me. I closed my eyes tight as I saw a hand reach down to me, it was then that I felt the pain it was like someone had shot me but nobody had, there was no gunshot. I opened my eyes just a little to see him standing over me laughing, that's when I saw the knife and quickly shut my eyes again hoping that this was all just a nightmare and the pain and menacing look on his face would just go away.

Then all of a sudden the weight from him was gone I didn't dare open my eyes in case he was still there. I could hear arguing and then the sound of fists meeting flesh, I opened one eye to see two men fighting I chose this chance to hide I ran to the nearest bush holding my shoulder and hid being sure I hadn't been seen, I was in so much pain. After what seemed like forever I heard a voice,

"Hello, Look if you are still here you are safe now that bloke is long gone darling" It was the voice of a man he spoke so gently and had an accent but I couldn't figure out where he was from, he had a different voice to the other guy, but I wasn't taking any chances.

"I promise I won't hurt you, you need help, please let me help you" I recognised the accent to be Irish.

I stood up still with tears streaming down my face, my vision was blurry so I couldn't tell what he looked like I removed my hand from my shoulder revealing the wound with blood pouring down my arm.

"OH GOD listen I don't live too far from here I'm going to take you back to my house and call an ambulance okay love?" his voice sounded so soothing it was then that I realized I didn't have a top on. I tried to cover myself and winced at the pain, I had nothing to cover myself with. The man noticed this and lent me his jacket. I muttered thanks and then replayed what had just happened in my head over and over each time making me cry harder. The man quickly rang an ambulance so that he knew what to do and told them where he lived then he picked me up and carried me to his house, being as careful as possible. He tried to keep me awake by talking to me and each time there was something in his voice that I recognized. I kept quiet the whole journey keeping my eyes closed, making the odd sound each time the man asked if I was still awake. When we reached the man's house the ambulance wasn't there so he took me inside and sat me down on the sofa, he ran into the kitchen in search of a first aid kit, every now and then he would yell "Don't fall asleep okay" I just kept my eyes shut I wanted this all to be over. I heard him come back in the room,

"Look you need to take the jacket off but here is a top you can wear,it won't hurt okay?" he sounded so lovely I could feel myself slowly drifting out of consciousness, just as there was a knock at the door.
