Bound To You

Its been almost a year since the twins were born. Lucy and Nina are growing up. When secrets are made, friendships break. Who will leave the picture and who will be bound to stay?

27. Chapter 26

(Lucy's POV)

I paced back and forth in the dressing room, anxiously waiting for Liam. I had to talk to him. I have to call this off, I just can't do it anymore. All the yelling and the fighting... it isn't healthy for any of us. Someone was bound to break eventually. Although I didn't think it would .be me... two weeks before our wedding.

I love Liam, I do, but this is all too much. First, Nina attacks Harry in front of my kids. Now, Dakota is attacking me and Harry looks like shit. There's no way that came from only Nina. Someone else went after him.

I can't take it anymore. It's heart breaking to think that not even an hour ago, my life was planned out. Now, it feels like it's falling apart. And its all because of me. It'll be better for everyone once my kids and I leave.

And this thought kills me.

"Lucy?" Liams voice comes from behind, pulling me out of my nightmare. I turn around and meet his curious gaze. The door behind him is closed tightly, giving us privacy. I can't help but think of the people on the other side... They're happy and living a worry free life.

Arms wrap around me, a familiar scent filling my nose. I don't hug him back or say anything, just wait for him to release me. When he does, he looks worried.

"What's wrong?" he asks, not needing to speak above a whisper due to our close proximity. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, I'd actually enjoy it, but today is different. I take a step away, gaining distance to keep myself from caving into him.

"Liam, we... we can't do this," I say, looking down. He stays quiet, and when I finally look up, I regret it immediately. His eyes are filled with pain, tears gathering in them. "I'm so sorry," I choke out before grabbing my bag, and fleeing the building.
