“How come you've been in your room for the past week?” Harry asked in the car on the ride back to the house. Lux glanced up at him, shaking her head.

“Josh left.” She murmured, “I was upset.”

He squinted at her, his eyes running over her face a few times as she stared out the window.

“Did you fancy him a lot then?” He looked away from her when she glanced over at him.

“Yeah, up until you came around..” She whispered, watching him, waiting for him to look back at her. He did, so she continued, “He told me he didn't like the way we looked at each other, so he didn't want me to talk to you unless it was concerning the competition, and I just.. couldn't. I knew there wasn't any possible way I could stay that far from you. Plus I don't like being told what to do, so I told him to fuck off. He was the first person that talked to me in this competition, so we were pretty close for the short amount of time we were both here. I miss him.”

“What a little prick! He told you to stay away from me?” Harry's fists were balled, his eyes narrowed in angry little slits and his jaw was clenched.

“I'm sure thats not the first time a guy has wanted you to stay away from the girl he likes.” Lux chuckled lightly, shaking her head and picking at a scab on her leg.

“Well, no but-”

“Then stop getting angry.” Her voice was stern, and he bit back his response, clenching his jaw again.

“Fine.” He mumbled, slowly releasing his fists.

Lux's eyebrows shot up as she looked over at him, “Wow. You didn't argue with me..”

“I'm trying to... be better..” He said slowly, looking as if it pained him to say the words.

“Why now?” She asked, shaking her head slowly.

“Because you deserve better!” He snapped, “Now stop asking me questions before I change my mind.”

She swallowed harshly, looking straight ahead as they pulled up to the house. “I didn't ask you to change for me. I never asked you to do anything for me.”

“I know that.” He whispered, “But I want to change because of you.”

Her eyes shot up to him, welling up with tears that she wouldn't let fall, and his eyes met hers reluctantly, softening when he saw how shiny and big hers were. He looked away, feeling almost terrified of the emotions going through him when he looked at her.

Harry didn't know the exact moment he decided he needed to change for her, he only knew that he felt it coursing through his entire body and soul, this feeling of needing to be better to her. He kept trying to push it back, bite it down, bury it deep within himself but it fought back and it was winning.

The car stopped, but Lux was still staring at him and not making a move to get out of the car. He looked down at his hand, slowly moving it over until his pinkie touched hers, wrapping around it slowly. He felt an immediate jolt go through his body when her pinkie was locked with his, and it scared him so much that he released her pinkie, moving to climb out of the car first.

He walked around to her side of the car and opened the door for her, watching her smile a fake smile at the cameras as she climbed out and went into the house in front of him.

“Harry, what happened with you and Caroline Flack?” He heard someone shout, and he tripped over his own feet. He stumbled, knocking into Lux's back and grabbing her waist to steady himself. She reached back and grabbed his hands, quickly pulling him inside as the photographers began to close in around them.

Harry slammed the door shut behind them, leaning against it and staring straight ahead with a blank look on his face. Lux's eyebrows pulled together as she moved to him, grabbing his shoulder softly and shaking him.

“Are you okay?” She asked, tilting her head. He wasn't responsive at all, not even a blink.

“How can I move on if she's still haunting me?” He barely whispered, his eyes wide and unblinking still. His body slid down the door until he was a small crumpled ball on the floor, his face whiter than she's ever seen it. Lux was beginning to get scared for him, wondering if she should yell out for help.

But who should she yell for?

“LOUIS!!” She screamed, getting on her knees in front of Harry carefully. “LOUIS!!!”

She heard someone running down the hallway upstairs and looked back just in time to see Louis pulling a shirt over his head while he practically jumped down the entire staircase. He slid on the floor in his socks, crashing into Lux's body as he fell to his knees behind her, crawling the rest of the way to his best friend.

“What happened? Hazza? Harry, what's happened?” He said quickly, his hands reaching out to grab onto Harry's shoulders tightly.

“Someone outside asked about some girl.. Caroline something? And then he did this! I don't know what's going on but he wasn't responding to me so I thought maybe he would for you.” Lux rambled, her voice squeaking with fear and worry.

“Ah, bloody fuckin' hell. Can't they just leave him alone?” Louis whispered more to himself than anyone, reaching out to smack Harry's cheeks lightly. “Hazza, snap out of it or I'm gonna go get Zayn to come kiss Lux in front of ya.”

Lux's mouth dropped, her eyes widening as she smacked Louis on the shoulder. “Stop that!”

He chuckled, shaking Harry by the shoulders, “I'm gonna kiss Lux, Harry. With my lips and maybe even my tongue if she gets frisky.” He turned and wiggled his eyebrows at her.

Lux tried to hold it back but couldn't and started giggling, slapping her hand to her mouth to stop it.

“He doesn't care if you kiss me. Do you, Harry?” Lux said, looking to Harry with a smile on her face. He blinked, seeming to be staring straight through her, his mouth set in a hard line.

“Well, then. On with it.” Louis said, releasing Harry's shoulders, moving to face Lux.

Harry's hands snapped out, grabbing onto Louis' arm before he could move another inch.

“Don't touch her.” He said softly, his voice monotone and weak.

“Ah! It speaks! It moves!” Louis said, putting on a fake Australian accent, imitating the crocodile hunter. “Harry Styles is an endangered species that only comes out at night to stalk its prey – the ladies. He lures them in with his smooth charm and deep dimples, and then BAM! Kills them with his kiss! He is the last known of his kind and is a very, very jealous predator. If someone else is stalking his prey, he grabs their arm and says 'Don't touch her' in a very menacing, scary voice that makes his opponent back away immediately! What ever will he do next!?”

Lux was on the floor, giggling so hard that she held her stomach and tried to hide the tears falling down her red cheeks. She hasn't laughed this hard in a long time, forgetting how good it felt to laugh until her stomach aches. She wiped her cheeks, trying to stifle her laughter as she sat up, looking over at Harry and Louis who were both laughing, Harry's cheeks red as well.

He smacked Louis, pulling him into a quick hug before punching his arm again.

“No, but really... don't touch her.” Harry said, raising his eyebrows and staring at Louis, who rolled his eyes.

“Oi, not everybody wants the same girl as you, mate. Want some tea?” Louis stood up, holding a hand out to Harry to help him up as well. They both turned to Lux at the same time, each holding out a hand and then looking at one another. Louis rolled his eyes again, dropping his hand and his offer to help her up, leaving her to grab onto Harry's hand.

“Are you okay?” She whispered when he pulled her up, watching him bite his lip.

“Ya.” He mumbled, shrugging, turning to Louis. “Did I hear something about tea, boo bear?”

“Right you are, sweet cheeks. Let's go, then.” Louis wrapped his arm tight around Harry's shoulders, leading him into the kitchen, forgetting all about Lux.

She shrugged and followed behind them, finally understanding what “Larry Stylinson” is.

“You two would make a cute couple.” Lux stated with a smile.

They both turned and grinned at her in unison, “So we've heard.”
