43. Scared

“I'm not leaving.”

Her mouth spat out an answer before her brain could process the decision thoroughly, and after she said it, she stood up and ran out of the room after Harry, her entire body shivering with the thought that he'd be upset with her choice.

His long torso wasn't hard to spot, and he was slowly walking down the deserted hallway with his hands pressed to his face in distress. Lux's feet sped up, her legs practically floating her body to him without any effort. She reached out and grabbed his bicep, feeling his tense muscles under her fingertips. He tensed up even more as his body swung around to face her, but when he saw it was Lux and not a producer, his body relaxed slightly.

She didn't say a word, instead pushing his torso against the wall with her hands, passionately kissing his lips as she did so. He reacted as she knew he would, looping his arms around her waist and yanking her in closer, deepening the kiss and the passion. Harry pulled back for a moment to sigh softly, pressing his forehead to hers, flattening his hands on her shoulder blades gently.

“Baby...” Lux whispered, “I won't leave you. They'll have to drag me out kicking and screaming to make me leave you. As long as I have a choice in this matter, I choose you.”

He shut his eyes, his face so close to hers that his eyelashes tickled against her eyebrows. Another sigh escaped his lips, and she watched him lick them slowly before pressing them firmly to hers.

“Career wise, I think you're making the wrong decision. As your mentor, I strongly advise you to reconsider.” He said quietly, and she opened her mouth to protest, but he pressed his fingers to her lips and stopped her. “Shh, shh. Personally, I love you. As your boyfriend, I want to get down on the ground and bow to you for not leaving me. I want to praise you at an alter, because I don't know what I'm going to do without you here and I don't want to think about it yet. Telling you to reconsider your decision is the hardest thing I think I've ever had to do, but I want you to think about this one more time. Are you completely sure you want to do this?”

Lux lowered her eyelashes for a second, looking down at his red bow-shaped lips, which were shiny from her kisses. Her brain raced for less than a minute and landed on the only thing she's ever been sure of – Harry. At this moment in time, there is nothing she wouldn't sacrifice to be with him.

She rose up onto the tips of her toes and touched his lips with hers softly, wrapping her arms around his shoulders slowly as the kiss deepened. She nodded as she kissed him, pulling him in closer until their entire bodies were pressed together like they were magnets. Lux felt him smile against her mouth as his arms wrapped around her equally as tight, his tongue sliding between her lips and massaging against hers. Harry groaned lightly, turning her around so she was pressed to the wall instead of him, and she could feel that he was hard already. Her kissing deepened. She pushed her body to his as much as she could, trying to feel every inch of him against her skin.

They pulled away quickly, Lux's fingers covering her mouth immediately as they both turned bright red at the sight of Dr. Garcia standing there watching them. He looked utterly amused.

“That's not going to make your voice any better, young lady. Here's your prescription. I want you to take this 3 times a day with food, okay? And you're officially on a silent diet. No speaking, at all, period. And I mean it. Not a word!” He said sternly, raising his eyebrows as he handed her a slip of paper with her prescription written on it.

Lux nodded immediately, smiling lightly as she imitated locking her lips and throwing away the key. Dr. Garcia smiled at her before beginning to walk away, but he stopped after a few steps.

“I hate to do this...but my daughter will kill me if I don't get your autograph for her. Would that be okay?” He asked Lux, who's eyebrows raised. She smiled brighter and nodded eagerly, happy that someone even wanted her autograph in the first place!

“What's her name?” Harry asked him, watching Lux take the pen and pad of paper out of his hand.

“Catherine. She's only 13, but she loves the show and she's a big fan. She, uh, she says all the time how she thinks you two should date, that you would be good together. I guess I'd have to agree with her now.” He chuckled, watching them exchange a look of slight shock.

“Do you watch the show?” Harry asked, knowing that's exactly what Lux wanted him to ask.

“Yeah, sometimes with my kid.” Dr. Garcia shrugged, taking the autograph from Lux with a smile.

“Do you think it's obvious that we're together? Because it's kind of supposed to be a secret.”

He laughed when he heard that, shaking his head. “Oh yeah. It's obvious. You two have a lot of chemistry, its hard to ignore. Have a good day, guys. No speaking, Lux.”

“See ya, man.” Harry said, watching him walk away before turning back to his girl.

“I guess we should tone it down a notch.” He whispered, but Lux's lips were already finding his the second the words left his mouth. He kissed her back with a laugh, tugging her up against the wall again so he could get his body in closer to hers.

Her lips parted when she pulled back, and Harry raised his eyebrows in a stern matter.

“No, Lux. You heard the doctor, no speaking. You can write down what you need to say or.. act it out.” He laughed, watching her shoot him a look before sighing softly and pointing at her eyeball.

“Eye...” Harry smiled, “Oh, I...”

She pressed her hand against the left side of his chest, feeling his heart pounding steady against it. She grabbed his hand as well, pressing it to her own heart so he could feel her heartbeat in unison.

Boob.” He stated, “I boob.. that doesn't make any...” Lux reached out and smacked him before he could finish his sentence, and he laughed at the look on her face.

“Okay, okay. I love..”

Lux pointed at Harry.

I love you.” He whispered, speaking for her and also replying to her at the same time.

Her smile grew, a bright and beautiful smile that reminded him of the one on her face when he first fell in love with her. It was a glorious thing to look at, but it also made him ache inside. Looking at Lux right now was like looking at the sun. It's beautiful and warm and bright, but if you look too long... it hurts. It hurt him to look at her for a long time, to look deep into those eyes of hers and see the doubts she had. It was all written in her eyes, and if he looked at them long enough he could read them all.

So he tried not to look too long, because he didn't want to accept the truth. Lux was scared to death of damaging her voice, almost as much as Harry was scared to lose her.
