7. They See Me Rollin'

"Are we there yetttt?" I whined, pouting and pressing my back into Niall's shoulder. He paused from his conversation with Liam and Louis long enough to laugh at me.

"Finally!" Perrie squealed from the front seat, where she was sitting next to Eleanor in the passenger seat and Zayn was driving. There was far too many people in Perrie's Range Rover, but enough of us were skinny enough that we could double buckle and (hopefully) not get arrested.

"Yesssssss." I slapped Niall's arm over and over. Tight spaces were not my forte. We finally pulled through the ticket booth, buying twelve tickets from the confused booth attendant. Harry's friend Ed had tagged along so that we could pair up, plus Harry had told us he was jonesing for Jesy.

I squealed as soon as we all piled out of the car, excitedly grabbing a laughing Niall's arm. He chuckled and shook his head, but wrapped an arm around my shoulders and squeezed my side anyway. After Perrie delivered our tickets to us, we all grabbed a buddy and skipped into the park, breaking off into our own conversations.

"Where to first?" Niall looked down at me, and I became hyper-aware of his arm around my shoulders.

"Hmmm, the carousel?" Niall nodded and I decided not to be such a lump, wrapping my arm around his waist instead of letting it just hand there at my side. We bumped hips and laughed all the way over, and I felt this new almost lightness in my heart. This was how I wanted things to always be.

After two go rounds on the carousel, Niall dragged me off to a food stand and downed two hot dogs like his life depended on it. It was hard trying to remember why I had been mad at him just a month ago. Actually, I just couldn't remember at all. It was so stupid, and had totally destroyed my chances with Niall. Ever.

"Ooohhhh the Tunnel of Lurveeee." Liam teased, dragging Jade with him as he passed Niall and I. We both laughed and then glanced at each other at the same time. I felt my face get hot and I looked away quickly. But before I could say something about how we should go on the ferris wheel to ease the tension, Niall's hand was in mine and his light Irish accent was saying,

"Why not?"

"This is so cheesey." I giggled, my shoulder pressed into Niall's as we slowly moved through the dimly illuminated Tunnel of Love.

"I like cheese." Niall looked around at the fake candles flickering everywhere.

"You like everything." I replied, poking him in the side. Niall laughed and blushed when he saw the cart about ten metres in front of us, where Liam and Jade were definitely not keeping their hands to themselves.

"This is slightly less exciting than I expected." Niall dead-panned finally. I laughed, trying not to read too much into what he meant. But I'm a girl, how can I not? I sighed inwardly and tried to relax my shoulders.

"Oucchhhh." I pressed my hand to my eye, which stung when I blinked. It felt like death. It hurt. A lot.

"What's up?" Niall turned to look at me, squinting slightly in the lighting.

"There's something in my eye! Like an eyelash, or a twig, or a branch or something. Maybe the whole forest, you know." I knew I was being dramatic, but it hurt so badly. I rubbed my eye over and over again. Niall took my wrists and pulled my hands back, holding them away from my face as he leaned closer and closer.

"It's an eyelash in your eye." Niall breathed, pulling his head down lower to my eye level. I felt my heart going out of control, and I knew he would feel my pulse in my wrists. "Don't move."

I sucked in a breath and Niall let go of my right wrist and reached his hand up to my eye. Gently, his finger swept across my lashline and I blinked, the pain gone. I let out my breath and crumpled over a little, my heart slowing only enough to calm down.

"Thanks, a tonne." I let out finally, pressing my face into Niall's shoulder. He chuckled and wrapped one arm around my shoulders. I tried not to tense up again, but I knew it was no good. How did Niall still not know I liked him? It was painfully obvious.

"Daisy?" Niall's voice rang out quietly. I pulled my head out of the folds of his soft shirt and looked up at his pale blue eyes, his freckles and light skin. His lips. Which were very close. "Do you mind if I just..." He trailed off, and then glanced at my eyes and then my lips, and then... he was leaning in. And I... wasn't pulling back. Because I really wanted this to finally happen. After all the times he had teased me, made me think he was going to actually kiss me, and then pulling away at the last second.

"Please make yourselves appropriate, the ride is coming to an end." The loud speaker blared as light leaked in from the end of the tunnel. Niall and I lept apart, and I smacked my head against the side of the car.

Every time.

Every fucking time.
