2. She's afraid.

-Jo’s POV

This so called, ‘Harry’ guy slowly stands up with a smirk plastered on his face. There’s something about the way he looks at you that makes you wonder what he’s thinking. That makes you want to know everything about him.

Swiftly and smoothly, he takes my hand and plants a light kiss on it. Is it cliché to say that my hand started burning? No, I couldn’t possibly have any feelings towards this stranger.

“Until we meet again.”

For the rest of the night I watch as underage kids make fools of themselves. Dancing on tables, taking shots as fast as they can. The things I used to do.

“Jo, darling, we must be getting home. The clock is about to strike twelve!” Tori squeals, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the exit. She’s watched Cinderella way too many times. It’s obvious that she’s drunk by the way she trips over her own feet every three steps.

It’s absolutely hilarious to see her making a fool of herself. “Oh no! Where’s my carriage?!” She starts to panic when we get outside. She starts going off about how she lost her shoe as I pull her towards the subway.

The subway might scare me during the day, but it’s even worse at night. Why do I have to be a responsible adult and not drive when I’m intoxicated?

There are tall men standing around, waiting for the next train. Even though I’ve lived in New York almost all of my life, I’ll never get used to being around boys. I’ve been hurt too many times to feel comfortable.

Luckily, the next train arrives a few minutes later and we get home before anything bad can happen.

I wake up to the sun shining through my windows. If I had to guess, it’s probably past noon. Tori and I didn’t get home until at least four in the morning. She’s not gonna be feeling so hot today.

Stretching out my arms and legs, I sit up in my large bed. The sight before my eyes makes me burst out laughing.

Tori is laying on my floor, covered up by my white, fluffy rug.

This girl..

She starts groaning and wiggling, and her eyes soon pop open. They immediately close from the blinding light that streams light into her eyes. “Jesus fucking Christ. Close the damn curtains!” She demands, rolling onto her stomach. I chuckle at her and do as I’m told.

Before closing the curtain, I notice a black Range Rover outside the house. Probably just one of the neighbors.

*Ding Dong*

The doorbell rings through my quiet loft. After closing the curtains, I make my way to the door and look through the peephole. A big head of curls in facing the ground, and his hands are shoved in his front pockets.

That hair… I’ve seen it before.

That’s when I start to remember last night..

The look he gave me. The feelings he made me have. The touches that made me uneasy. The alcohol gave me courage. Gave me strength. Any other time I would’ve ran for my life.

“I know you’re in there…” His deep, raspy voice says from the other side.

My body instantly freezes and my breath hitches. Before I know it, I’m undoing the chain lock and opening the door slowly.

His eyes are like darts, shooting through my head. I become curious as to how he found out where I live. Did he follow me home? No, I would’ve noticed him in the subway. But how..

“Surprised to see me, Love?” He chuckles, raising an eyebrow at me.

There’s no doubt that he’s the most beautiful human being I’ve ever laid eyes on. But as always, there’s something that’s stopping me from wanting to be anywhere close to him.

“H- how did you find me?” I stutter, still shocked to see him here. The way he made me feel so… so antsy. It was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Last night threw me for a loop. Heck! I barely talked to him for five minutes!

“Your friend, I believe her name was Tori, gave me your address. She said that you’d like to go out with me tonight.” He smiles, showing a dimple on each side of his mouth.

That little…

I can’t help but notice his eyes wandering down my body. When I look down, I see why. The only things I’m wearing are lace underwear and a baggy t shirt, which hides the underwear. My hair is in a messy bun on top of my head, so I probably look like a mess.

“I’ll be back at nine. Wear something sexy.” He turns around, biting his bottom lip.

I'm not sure whether to feel scared, so anxious.

I’m leaning more towards scared.
