2. After That...Nothings Left

Chapter One

"Sorry for your lose,"

"Everything is gonna be okay."

"I'm here if you need me"

God I wanted to scream! I wish they'd all just shut the fuck up. I don't want to talk to anyone I don't want to see anyone. Just fucking leave me alone.

Then I heard that mother fucking door bell ring. God damnit. Why can't this stop. If fucking everyone and their mother going to come by?! Shit.

Sighing and cussing under my breath I got up and walked across the room to open the front door. I braced myself for another round of crying people trying to comfort me, wanting to share memories, and a lot of fucking hugs. I grabbed the handle. And peered through the peep hole. It was Kelcey... Allissa's best friend.

I opened the door and looked through the screen door at her.

She had been crying. Although she tried to hide it with a weak smile and coverup. She was wearing shorts and one of Allissas cheerleading t-shirts that the two if them at taken a sharpie to. I remember when they used to sit in my bedroom floor writing all over their cheer shirts and mine and Austin's baseball shirts. I winced. Memories like that still hurt.

I opened the screen door and stepped out.

I cleared my throat, "Hey, Kels.." I said shoving my hands in my pockets.

She looked up at me, God she looked so...broken.

I pulled my hands out of my pockets and pulled her in for a hug, wraping my arm around her shoulders, gripping tight. She wrapped her small arms around my waist and hugged me back.

We stayed that way for what felt like hours. Then I felt her body start shaking. She was crying. I felt the sides of my eyes prick and start burning a little.

I pulled away and looked at her

"Let's go inside Kels," I said, opening the screen door again, holding it open for her.

She took a step in and looked back waiting for me, her eyes were red and puffy, and her eye makeup was smudged.

I stepped in the door and closed it before turning back to look at Kelsey.

She had her long ginger red hair tied up in a loose messy bun on the top of her head. Normally it would hang loose, water falling down her back and shoulders. It came just below her breasts. About the same length as Allissa's had been.. I winced again at the thought of her.

Kelsey sat down in the chair next to the front window and pulled her skinny pale legs up to her chest. I could see tears welling up in her dark blue eyes again. I walked over to the couch and sat down. Not knowing exactly what I should do.

I let my head fall into my hands. Then I heard Kelcey stand up. I looked up to see her standing infront of me. She reached her hands out toward me, and I grabbed it. She pulled me up and looked up at me.

"I didn't come her to sit in your living room and cry, Justin. I can do that at my house." She said wiping her eyes. "I came to ask you if you would come with me to Allissa's house... I want to keep a few things... You know for memories.." She said looking down.

I stared at her for a few moments, thinking about it. She was Allissas best friend. It's the least I could do to help her through this.

"Okay." I finally said.

She jumped a little, my voice startling her. She looked up at me teary eyed again.

"Thank you," she whispered, "will you drive?" She shoved her hand in her pocket and pulled out her keys. You could defiantly tell they belonged to a teenage cheerleader. Her house key was a light bejeweled pink and she had a ton of the teams key chains. And a little blue Pom Pom hooked on it. They looked similar to mine. Which Allissa had takin the liberty to decorate for me. I winced again.

"Sure." I bobbed my head taking the keys from her.

We walked out side and I was immediately blinded. I put my hand up to shield my eyes.

"Hold on Kels," I said squinting, "let me go get my sun glasses" with that I dissapeared back into the house. I half jogged down the hall and to my room. I grabbed my sun glasses. Then rushed outside, slipping them on.

Kelcey was already sitting I the passenger side of the car. I jogged around to the drivers side and hopped in. Shutting the door, I put the key in the ignition and started the car. I knew exactly where to go. I could get to Allissa's house with my eyes closed.

Arriving at Allissa's house I pulled in the driveway, turned off the car, and braced myself.

I haven't been here since she left for Florida..

I took a deep breath and looked over a Kelsey who was sitting perfectly still. Her eyes wide.

I touched her hand.

"Are you okay, Kels?" I asked my eye brows knitting together.

"Yeah," she whispered. She cleared her throat,"lets go in."

I nodded unbuckling my safety belt, and opening the car door. I pulled the key out of the ignition and got out shutting the door and waiting for Kelcey to come around the side.

Together we grabbed hands, and walked up to the door step.

We paused at the door. Kelcey squeezed my hand, and I squeezed back.

I shoved my hand in my pocked and pulled out the spare key. Unlocked the door, and stepped in.

It still smelled just like it always did.. Caramel and peppermint. I sighed.

"Common," Kelcey said, pulling me up the stairs to Allissas room. She opened the door and we stepped in.

I gasped as I took it all in..

Her walls were a pale cream color. I remembered helping her paint it.

I chuckled to myself. She was always so.... Bubbly.

I winced.

I let go of Kelcey's hand, walking over to Allissa's dresser. It was covered in make up, random accessories, random movie stubs and various other things. Connected to the back of it was a mirror, taped to it were pictures of us, laughing, kissing, just being... In love..

I ran my hand over a few of the photos. Remembering the exact moment each one was takin.

I untapped them and laid them in a pile on her bed. Making a metal note to take them before we left.

I moved on to her bookshelf. Full of her favorite souvenirs, pictures, books, and photo albums. I brushed my fingers along every object.

When I turned around to find Kelsey, she was on her knees on the floor, with one of Allissa's shirts held againced her face. Tears were pouring from her eyes. I glided over to her. Kneeling down, I placed a Hand on her back, rubbing it lightly.

She looked up at me, teary eyed.

"I just miss her so much, Justin... I just..." Her voice broke.

I broke.

"I... I know Kels..." I whispered.

I dropped down to my butt and pulled my legs up resting my elbows on my knees, and let my head fall.

"I know.." I began to quiver.

I knew what was comming this wasn't the first time my composer had broken. So, I just rode through it.

The first sob is always the hardest. You feel like you can't breath. Like everything you've ever had has just been sucked out of you. After that first sob, you just know, it's not gonna stop anytime soon. So you just give up and let it shake you. You let it rip through your body, and take every single shred of happiness you have. Because, after that. Nothing's left.

So I sobbed. I let it take me. Then I felt it coming.. The anger. It always came with the sobs. I felt it building. Boiling my blood. Blurring my vision. I had to leave. I had to get out of Allissa's house. I knew what this anger came with.

Cussing, punching walls, throwing anything I could pick up.

I could not let that happen here..

I got up, and stormed through the door and down the stairs. I powered through the living room and out the front door. I ran to Kelsey's car and slammed my palms on the hood. Leaning on it.

"WHY. HER." I growled through my teeth. I slammed my fist down on the hood of the car again.

"What the hell are you doing, Justin?!" I heard Kelsey yell from the porch.

She ran over to me and put her hands on my shoulder pushing me away from her car.

"That's my car!" She screamed in my face.

"Get. Out. Of. My. Face. " I growled at her.

She looked at me dumbfounded.

I shoved my hand in my pocket, pulled out her keys and tossed them at her.

"Go home Kels.. I'm sorry.. I need some time." I mumbled.

Her face softened, "But.. What about yo-" I cut her off

"I'll walk home. It's not far. Go."

She nodded and got in her car and drove off.

I backed up to the garage door and slid down it. Letting my head fall.

I sat there like that for a good 30 minutes. Until I got a text from Brittani.

Brit- can u come home please?

I texted a quick response.

Me- be there in 5. U ok?

I got up and started toward my house. When Brittani texted back my heart sank.

Brittani- no. I miss my family.

Me- I know. Me too.
