Still the One {Sequel to Summer Love} *Finished*

Harry and Ali's relationship is going strong. Will it last when new obstacles threaten their strong relationship? (Might be a smart idea to read Summer Love to get the feel of what's happening in this story)

16. Was I Good Enough

"I'm sorry Ali, you didn't make the team," Coach Lyons told me a few days later. "But don't give up." "I won't sir," I said as cheerfully as possible. The news stabbed me in the heart. "I hope to see you at try outs next year," he said before hanging up. Harry was in the studio and Darcy was with Anne so I was all by myself. I decided to stop by the studio to tell Harry face to face. In the car, I tapped my fingers to the beat of the song playing on the radio. "Can I help you?" the man asked behind the desk. "Can you tell me where One Direction is?" I asked. "Sorry ma'am. I can't do that," he replied, going back to reading the sports section of the paper. "Why?" I asked. "No fans allowed," he said, face hidden by the paper. "Sir, I'm not a fan," I told him. "I'm Harry Styles' wife." "That's what they all say," he sighed, flipping the page. I rolled my eyes and texted Harry to meet me in the lobby. I sat in a chair and waited for Harry to come out. "Ali!" he yelled when he saw me. "Hey babe," I smiled. "What are you doing here?" he asked as we walked back to the recording room. "Ehh. I got bored," I shrugged. "You didn't make it did you?" he asked. "Nope," I said. "Well they don't know what they are missing," he smiled before kissing my check. I sat next to the producer guy while the guy recorded a new song. It was a nice, romantic song. Harry would look me straight in the eye when he would sing, causing me to act like a schoolgirl whose crush just talked to her.

After the studio, we went to flat. Anne brought Darcy home around 5. "Was she good?" I asked Anne as she handed me Darc. "Of course! She's always a good girl with Grammy," she smiled. "Thanks Anne," I laughed. "Say bye Darcy." "Bye-bye," Darcy waved. I closed the door when Anne got to the elevator. Harry was making soup with grilled cheese for supper. Darcy sat on her play mat and played with her blocks. I couldn't believe how fast she was growing up. "Supper's done," Harry yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts. Darcy stood up and walked to the kitchen. Harry was lifting her in her high chair when I got there. Smokey was sitting by the stove, waiting to scraps. "Get away dumb cat," I muttered. I gave Darc her bowl that was sitting on the side to let it cool. Once I had my meal, I sat next to Darcy with Harry across from me. "How is it shorty?" Harry asked his daughter. She gave him a big smile. "You're not lying are you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She shook her head no. "Good," Hazz smiled before dipping his grilled cheese in his tomato soup.

After supper, we watched Enchanted. Darc seemed to enjoy it. "So what are we doing for Christmas this year?" Harry randomly asked. "Babe! That's like six months from now!" "So, I might need to make reservations," he shrugged. "Well Darc seemed to enjoy being in the snow," I thought out loud. Hearing the word snow, Darcy turned around to look at me with a smile. "Snow!" she cheered. "No baby. It's summer time, there's no snow," I giggled causing Darcy to start crying. "You see what you did Ali!" Harry jokingly yelled, running over to Darcy who was sitting on a little chair that Mum got her. "Shh. I know that mummy can be a meany," Harry whispered. I shook my head and laughed. "You're making me look like the bad parent," I smiled. "Oh what's that supposed to imply?" he asked. "Nothin'," I smiled. "Come on Darc you need a bath." Harry handed me Darcy then I carried her up to the master bathroom. I put her in a mini "Hipsta Please" shirt and a pair of sweatpants. "Mama! Minnie!" she cried. She had to have her Minnie doll that Harry and I got her on the honeymoon. I looked around her bed for the prized doll. "Here it is," I smiled. Darcy tightly hugged it like it had been missing for years. "Night babe," I said after I kissed her forehead. "Night," she said, lying in bed. I turned on her Tinkerbell nightlight before turning off the light and shutting the door. I got ready for bed, wearing my cat P.J.'s from Topshop that Eleanor got me. I sat in bed and read a book that Mum had suggested me to read with the TV on as background noise. Harry came to bed around nine. Harry stood in the doorway of the bathroom brushing his teeth. "How are you feeling about the football thing?" he asked. "Ehh. There's always next year," I shrugged. "That's the spirit babe!" he cheered, going back into the bathroom. All I could think about was if I could get in next year. I stayed awake until midnight thinking about it until my thoughts tired themselves out.
