Still the One {Sequel to Summer Love} *Finished*

Harry and Ali's relationship is going strong. Will it last when new obstacles threaten their strong relationship? (Might be a smart idea to read Summer Love to get the feel of what's happening in this story)

23. I'll Always Be Here

Shock was clearly painted on Harry's face. "W-What should we do?" he stuttered. "Well get a test to get a more accurate answer," I told him. As soon as I said that, he jumped off the couch. "Woahh there cowboy. Where do you think you're going?" I asked. "To get a test," he scuffed. "Well I hope you know you're going alone because someone has to watch Darcy." "True," he muttered. He took out his phone, typed something then slid it back in his jean pockets. He sat back down and placed his arm around me. "Who did you send?" I questioned. "Grimmy," he smiled. I rolled my eyes as I went back to the TV. During the climax of the episode, there was a knock on the door. "God damn it Grim!" I muttered as I got up to answer the door. "Special delivery," Nick smiled when I opened the door. He held up a paper bag. "Thanks," I smiled as I grabbed the bag. I heard the boxed move as I took the bag. "God how many did you buy?" I opened the bag to see that there was about five tests. "For accuracy," he smiled as if he read my mind. "Thanks Nick," I smiled before giving him a hug. "Anything to help my best friend's wifey," he grinned. I rolled my eyes at the word wifey coming out of his mouth. "Well I'll let you guys alone," he winked before leaving. "See you Grim. And thanks again," I waved. "Anytime lovely," he waved back. I shut the door when he drove away.

I walked back into the living room and placed the bag on the coffee table then just stood there. "Well?" he asked. I looked into his eyes to see that they were filled with hope and excitement. "Let's do this," I sighed. I grabbed one test out of the bag then walked back to the bathroom. When I had finished taking the test, I placed it on the bathroom sink. I sat on the end of the bathtub to wait. My leg bounced as I waited. I heard Harry's footsteps come towards the door. I could see his bare feet from under the door. "It's almost done," I told him. "Mama!" Darcy cried from upstairs. I sighed as I got up to see what she need. "I got her babe," Harry said. "And since when were you Mama?" I asked as I opened the door. "Touche," he said as he moved out of the way. "Mama!" she cried again. "I'm coming babe," I yelled back, at the end of the stairs. I took two stairs at a time to get to her quicker. "What's wrong angel?" I asked when I got into her room. "I had a bad dream," she pouted. "Shh it's alright babe," I comforted her as I picked her up out of the bed. "Can I watch TV with you in Daddy?" she asked with puppy-dog eyes. "I guess," l sighed. I carried her down the steps. In the living room, Harry sat in the living room on the couch. "Babe?" I asked trying to get his attention. He kept his gaze on what ever was in front of him. "Darcy, why don't you go to the kitchen, I'll get you some juice in a second," I told my daughter as I put her down. She nodded before running off. I walked up behind Harry and gently placed a hand on his shoulder causing him to jump. "What's wrong?" I asked. He turned and looked at me with watery eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but the words stayed in his mouth. I looked in his hand and saw the test. "What does it say?" I asked. "P-Positive," he smiled. Excitement rushed through my body as I gave him a hug. "Mummy! When are you going to get my juice?" Darcy sassily asked. "I'm coming baby," I sighed. "She spends way to much time with Lou," I joked as I walked out of the room.

She was sitting at the kitchen island waiting for me. I honestly didn't feel like pouring her a glass so I grabbed her a juice box. "Here you go," I smiled as I placed the juice box in front of her. "Thank you," she smiled. "You're welcome," I said as I sat next to her. I was about to tell her that she was going to be a big sister when the house phone rang. It was a rare occurrence because everyone mostly called our cell phones. "Hello?" I answered. "Ali! It's Sarah," my brother's sister quickly spoke. "Slow down Sarah! What's wrong?" "It's your grandmother." "What about Nan?" I asked. "She's in the hospital. She had a heart attack and they said she's in pretty bad shape." My jaw dropped. "We're on our way," I said before hanging up. I picked Darcy up without  saying a word. "Harry we have to go," I told him as I walked to the door, slipping on a pair of Toms. "Where?" "H-o-s-p-i-t-a-l," I spelt out, not wanting to scare Darcy. "I'll call Niall," he nodded. "Why am I going to Uncle Niall's?" she asked. "We need to clean the house," I lied. She nodded her head then rested it on my shoulder. "He said it's alright if we dropped her off," Harry said. I honestly looked like crap: my hair was in the world's messiest bun, I was in a pair of Harry's sweatpants and an oversized shirt.

I ran into the hospital to see my whole family sitting in a little group. "Ali," Mum said. "She wants to see you." I nodded as I followed my Mum to her room. "Nana?" I asked after knocking on the door. "Come in," a raspy voice replied. I opened the door and walked in. I expected to see the smile that never left her face still on but it was gone. "How are you feeling?" I asked. "I could be better," she sighed. "So what's new with you?" she asked. "Well I just kinda found out I'm pregnant," I said shyly. She was the first person besides Harry to know. "May I?" she asked. I nodded as I lifted my shirt. She placed a could hand on my stomach causing me to shiver. Normally, her hands were warm and never cold. "Are you excited?" she asked as she moved her hand away. "Of course Nana!" I giggled. "But I'm kinda nervous know," I told her. "Alison," she sighed. "Nothing's going to happen. I promise." She put out her hand and stuck out her pinkie. I smiled as I grabbed it with mine. "Ali, I want you that I love you with all my heart and Darcy is going to be just like you." "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" I asked with a smile. "That's up for interpretation," she laughed. I sat down in the chair beside her bed and talked to her about all the good times we had. I let out yawn so I told her that I would see her tomorrow. "You can sleep here," she suggested. "Alright. Let me go tell your fans that I got the V.I.P. pass," I joked. When I came back Nan had a smile on her face. She motioned for me to come over to her. "I love you Ali Jane," she whispered. "I love you too Nana." I walked over to the couch and laid down.

I was awaken in the middle of the night to a loud beeping sound. "Nurse!" I yelled. "Somebody please!" I cried out as the machine that measured her heart rate kept increasing. My eyes were like faucets. When the doctors came in, everything went into slow motion. I was escorted out to the hallway. I couldn't stop crying. Part of me knew that she might not make it out of this but the other half didn't want to accept that. When the commotion died down, the doctor came out. "Ms. Edwards," the doctor said, calling me a name I haven't been called in a while. "We did everything we could." He didn't even half to finish the sentence before I could figure out what he was going to say which made me cry even harder. Nan was one of my favorite family member. And now, she was gone.

Back at my parent's house, I had cried to sleep in Harry's arms. I had a dream that I was in Nan's house. "Nana?" I yelled. "Upstairs love!" her voice called down. I walked into the room to the room where I had heard her voice call from. She was in the room that she made into a nursery for Darcy when she would spend the night. She turned around with a baby in her arms. "He's a good boy," she smiled at me. I gave her a questioning look. "Do you want to hold him?" she asked. I nodded shyly. "Bradon, let's go to Mama," Nana said in a babying voice. When he was in my arms, I felt a peacefulness fill me. "He's in good arms honey. I promise," she told me before the whole scene started to fade away. "No! Don't go!" I yelled. "I'm not going to be gone forever silly. I'll always be here." She would always tell me that when I would leave her house when I was younger but now, it meant a lot more then it did back then.
