Heart Racing - (Non-Famous One Direction Love Story)

Daisy Brooks has never stayed in one place long. Her father studies world history and writes critically aclaimed books, sending his family packing every year and flying over oceans to their new homes. L.A., Utah, Melbourne, Auckland, Moare, and now? Doncaster. Daisy's father promises this is their last move, and she's looking forward to only being the new girl one more time. Even though she's never been too happy with the friends she made, will it be different this time? And will there be a boy to get her heart racing again?

8. Dance Drama

I spent the weekend on my couch, eating the supply of Ben and Jerry's that Perrie had dropped off, and letting Eleanor shove me into the shower and braid my hair. She wiped off my makeup and took my ice cream away, replacing it with a salad. Then she put makeup on me and changed the channel to Britain's Next Top Model. I sighed and watched all the pretty girls and all of the unfolding drama until the marathon ended. On Sunday Jade came by with a Disney Princess blanket and some Disney movies on VCR, which I watched until I decided to finish up my english project. Niall had texted and said he was reading something else and she could use all of their work for the english project.

Monday morning rolled around and I pulled on jeans and a jumper and my UGGs. I could care less what I looked like today. The makeup Eleanor had put on my yesterday was still presentable, so I just let my hair out of the braid and it fell around my shoulders in loose curls. I drive to school, and spend the day avoiding everyone. I walk into english, as ready as I'll ever be to present my project. Harry and Niall are talking in their desks. Odd. I sit in the back, as far away from them as I can.

"Horan, you're up." The teacher says. Niall gets to his feet and walks to the front of the room. He starts talking about Midsummer Night's Dream. I mostly zone out until Niall starts talking about Hermia.

"Egeus goes to Theseus's palace to tell him that Hermia, who's meant to marry Demetrius, is in love with this guy named Lysander. Now Hermia won't marry Demetrius. Egeus is pissed and wants Theseus to give Hermia the death sentence for her disobedience, which is apparently legal back then." Niall says. "Basically, this guy had fallen head over heels for some girl, with the impression that she loves him back. But really, she's in love with this bloke, Lysander. And all these girls are in love with Demetrius, but he can only see Hermia. But Hermia doesn't want anything to do with him, and instead is in love with Lysander. In the end Demetrius ends up falling for someone else, which is totally unrealistic. Trust me, it takes guys longer than that to get over a girl. A lot longer." Niall says. Then he sighs.

"Anyway, so Hermia ends up with Lysander, who Demetrius probably hates even though he doesn't know why because Lysander rocks and makes Hermia happy. And so he settles for Helena, who is irritating. But he does it because he wants Hermia to be happy. He doesn't mess up and beat up Lysander though. He handles it the mature way." Niall says. A few people laugh, including Harry. I feel the corners of my lips twitch. Niall's trying to say that I'm Hermia, he's Demetrius, and Harry's Lysander. He's trying to apologize through Shakespear. I snort at the idea. I'm still mad at Niall, and I'm definitely not interested in Harry, but it's still sweet.

"Thank you for your input, Mr. Horan. You may return to your seat. That took a little longer than I expected, but we'll resume that tomorrow. Class is dismissed." We get out a few minutes early, and I walk down to Hisory and wait around for the bell to ring. Niall walks down the hall and leans against the wall across from me.

"Nice project." I said. Niall shrugs.

"I could kind of relate to a few of the characters." He said. I decided to mess with him.

"Really? Which one?" I asked. Niall stared at me for a second before he realised I was kidding. I giggled. "When I read that book, I didn't think Lysander and Hermia should end up together. Demetrius was way cuter and sweeter. Yeah, he messed up a little bit, but he's still way better for Hermia than that Lysander guy. Lysander kind of irritated me." I said. Niall smirked a little.

"Yeah, but he wasn't as bad a guy as Demetrius thought. Lysander messed up once, too, but it was an accident. I think Demetrius should have gotten over it sooner." Niall said. I nodded.

"Yeah, it would have avoided a lot of problems." I said. Niall chuckled.

"Do you think Hermia would take Demetrius back if her asked her to the dance?" Niall asked. I frowned a little.

"Maybe if Lysander hadn't asked her first."
