6. Chapter 5

Caroline POV • I walked to history alone. I'm not exactly in the mood to talk to anyone. Why did Eleanor leave right after I did? I thought she wanted me gone and after I leave...she leaves? What's the point of that? I could of stayed and spent more time with Harry. He was really nice. Sweet. I think we might be pretty good friends. As for Louis- I don't know what to say. He claims he doesn't want to see me at all, but why did he look upset when I left? "Caroline!" I heard a deep voice call after me and I stopped walking, then turned to face him. Harry. He ran up to me with a grin on his face and smiled. "Hey" I looked up at him then turned around to start walking again. He walked by my side as we approached the building. History with Harry every morning? That's a win. "What did Louis need last night that you caused you to cut our walk short?" I said frowning as we walked into the building. "Oh uh... I don't know if I should tell you this--- can you keep a secret?" he said biting his lip. "Pinkie promise" I said holding up my pinkie with a smirk on my face. "He broke up with Eleanor because--" Harry stopped mid sentence. "Because...?" I said annoyed, wanting to know why. "That I'm sure he would kill me if I told you" he said with a devilish grin. "Mhmm...." I smirked as we walked up the stairs. "Where is he anyway? Doesn't he have history with us?" "He's not feeling well today" Harry said upset and we walked to the classroom in silence. "Good morning" Mr. Hennings greeted us as we walked in. I gave him a week smile then went straight to the seat I was in yesterday. Harry followed and sat next to me. *End of class* "And don't forget about the quiz tomorrow!" Mr. Hennings called out as everyone rushed out of class. Too long of a class... Three hours with an old, ugly, annoying, loud teacher. At least I only have him for half of the year. Schedules change after two semesters and then we get a new set of classes.
Louis POV • I wasn't sick. I just don't want to go to class with El there. She's so pissed. I didn't mean to break her heart. I like her but--- Caroline has always been the girl I've loved. Maybe she's changed though. Maybe I'll get to know the new her and I'll get back with Eleanor. I walked down the sidewalks, hands in my pockets, looking around. All of a sudden people started rushing out of buildings. Class is over. I made my way over to a bench and sat down looking at the people who passed. Suddenly Harry and Caroline caught my eye. They were walking, talking, laughing. They were having a good time. She had the biggest and brightest smile on her face and he kept grinning at her. Caroline looked up at him and smiled. He chuckled and looked down. Caroline's eyes followed Harry's as they looked that their hands. Suddenly Harry reached over and took hers. She smiled and they started swinging their arms childishly. As they walked past me I looked away so they wouldn't notice me. When I looked up Harry was gone and Caroline was walking alone. "You can't hide from me boobear" I heard Harry from behind me and I jumped up in shock. He sat down beside me and looked down. "Why did you lie to me? You said you weren't feeling well" Harry sounded upset.
"Sorry Haz... I didn't want to see El in class" I mumbled. "You could of just told me" he said and rested his head on my shoulder. "What's up with you and Caroline?" I asked not even wanting to know the answer. "What do you mean?" he asked lifting his head up and looking at me. "You guys were holding hands...." I mumbled. "Yeah... Why? Do you not want us to?" he asked upset. He should know not to! I told him I still like her! He knows that she's the reason I ended it with El! "No... It's ok Haz..." I said and got up. "Where you going?" he asked getting up and walking by my side. "Class..." I said and headed over to the building I have Calculus in. ••••• Caroline POV • "So I'll see you at 7:00?" Harry asked as he let go of my hand and we stopped walking. "It's a date--- STUDY date" I corrected myself embarrassed. "It can be whatever you want it to be" Harry said before running back to one of the benches we just passed. *Calculus* I walked into class and saw everyone standing in the corner cowering in fear. Looking over at the teacher, I saw a small, round, devilish-looking lady standing there. "Get in the corner, I'm assigning seats" she snapped at me and I immediately ran over. A couple other people walked into class---including Louis. Wasn't he sick. He stopped as soon as he saw me and just stated for awhile. "Corner! Now!" the lady screeched and he quickly walked over to the rest of the crowd. The tables sat two each. As soon as the lady started telling us our seats she said my name and pointed towards the back corner table. "And next to Caroline--- Lewis" she said. "It's Louis" I said and she looked at me annoyed. "Thanks" Louis mumbled as he walked back and sat down next to me. Great... Awkward calculus seats... Great.... I'm not even good at this stupid subject. Louis and I sat as far away from each other as we could at our table and didn't even glance at each other. "Ok I'm Miss Bonnie and I will be your calculus teacher these two semesters. Your seats are permanent so don't ask for me to change them. Let's begin" Miss Bonnie said as she started writing complicated formulas on the board.
An out through class and I have no idea what we are doing. I can't get these numbers and symbols through my head. I glanced over at Louis and he looked like he was having the same problem. He had his face on his palms and there was hardly anything on this scratch paper. "I feel like giving up... This stuff is way too hard..." I mumbled and he looked up at me. "I know how you feel" he said trying to smile but only managed a little bit. "So...Why weren't you in History?" I asked quietly so Miss Bonnie wouldn't hear. "Uh...There's people I don't need to see there..." he said and looked down. "Me?" I asked upset. "No... Eleanor" he said and rubbed his eyes. "Oh... I heard you ended it with her....why?" I asked, almost begging for the answer. He looked at me and shook his head. "What?" I laughed and he smiled a bit. "Nothing..." he mumbled and the smile faded. We didn't talk the rest of class. I tried my hardest to understand but nothing. These problems have too many letters to be considered math. Louis was now working hard and seemed to understand it all. How does he do this? I know he's always been good at math but--- I really don't know. This is hard.
*7:00* I walked up to Harry's flat with my bag and knocked on the door lightly. It opened almost right away and Harry was standing there. "Hey" he said and let me in. We walked over to their living room and sat down on the couch. As I got my textbook and notes out I looked over at Harry. He smiled at me and leaned back placing his textbook on his lap. I pulled my legs up and sat on my feet then put my textbook on my lap as well. We quizzed each other for about an hour and it was now 8:00. "Are you hungry at all?" he asked looking up from the flash cards. I shook my head no. "I think we should take a break at least" he chuckled and threw all the notecards up in the air. They scattered around the room and I looked at Harry. "Your kidding me right?" my jaw dropped and I tried to hold back my laughs. Harry couldn't though, he fell back and laughed so hard I thought he could die. Laugher eventually escaped my mouth and I found myself leaning on Harry like I was yesterday. "It wasn't even that funny" I mumbled and giggled again. "Sure..." Harry chuckled and put his arm around me. I rested my head on his shoulder and shut my eyes. "It feels like we've know each other for so long..." I mumbled and smiled to myself. "I hope that's a good thing" he whispered into my ear sending chills throughout my whole body.
Harry and I talked for a little bit and got to know each other better. He really is a sweet guy. Nice, funny, cute, charming. As I picked my phone up and checked the time, it read 10:00. "I think I should go now..." I said standing up and grabbing my bag. "Woah Woah Woah..." Harry said standing up as looking around. "What?" I questioned him. "You can't go until you help me clean up this mess" he said smirking. "You did this!" I gasped and smiled at him putting my bag back down. I started picking up some of the flash cards and putting them in a pile. When we were finished I picked up my bag once again. "This is bye for real this time. See you tomorrow?" I asked walking up close to him. His face towered a couple inches over mine as our bodies were almost leaning up against each other. "See you tomorrow" he whispered slowly. I smiled at him but didn't move. I didn't want I move. I was so close to Harry! I could practically feel the heat coming off of his body. I started to step away but he grabbed my hand stopping me. "Caroline..." he started and I stood there looking at our hands. He held on to my wrist like if he let go he'd loose me forever. I looked back up at him and he was staring at me, his mouth open like he wanted to say something but couldn't. My eyes traced down towards his lips and I syed. He knew what I wanted.
