Running for Love

Being the daughter of Simon Cowell has its perks and all but I don't know how much more I can take of the constant moving around and never having alone time.

Kalie Cowell wishes for a normal life. Aside from training for the 2012 London Olympics her life is in control of Simon Cowell. How will her life change when One Direction becomes apart of it? I'm not going to tell you now, so read to find out:)

5. The Games

Weeks had passed since the night I tore Liam's heart out. We haven't talked much, Niall and I have gotten pretty close though. He gives me advice and comforts me when I start feeling guilty at random times.

We were in the car on the way to the hotel that all of the olympians stay at. The boys were staying there also because they were preforming in the opening ceremony, which was tomorrow night.

Nerves finally started to kick in as I walked onto the field with my teammates. It was surreal to see everyone there to watch you do something that you love. I got to meet Ryan Lochte, he was nice, if you know what I mean;). The ceremony ended and One Direction's performance was awesome. I was forced to go to bed early because my event was tomorrow. I run a total of three races, one tomorrow where the top 10 move on, second the day after that where the top 6 move on, and finally the third and finale determining who wins bronze silver or gold is the day after the second race.

Day 1 of the Race (top 10 move on)

Adrenaline pumped through my veins as me and 20 other runners were getting set at the start line. I looked into the crowd and spotted my dad with the boys minus Liam. I frowned but quickly shook it off to get started.

The gun boomed signaling the start of the race and I was off. There were some really fast girls. Come on Kalie just get in front of ten other people. I rounded the last curve and sprinted as fast as I could to the finish line. I did ok, not my best time, but I got 7th which means I made it to the second round!

Day 2 of the Race (top 5 move on)

I was jogging to the start when some blonde girl from Australia ran up next to me.

Girl- Aren't you Simon Cowells daughter?

Kalie- Ya.

Girl- And aren't the boys staying at your house.

Kalie- uh huh.

Girl- No wonder why you're so slow. They probably distract you from training.

Kalie- Excuse me?

Girl- Break a leg, literally.

What a bitch. I looked up at the scoreboard. That Australian had won the last race. Kalie don't think about her she's trying to get into your head. I looked up to the same spot where my dad was seated yesterday. He was there along with everyone, but no Liam again.

Alright Kalie you need to beat at least 5 people. I was in third when I came to the last strait. Lets go Kalie catch that dumb Auzzy. I sprinted pass a girl from Kenya and caught up with her. She was shocked to see me at first but then smirked at me extending her foot backwards making me stumble. I was 1.04 seconds behind her. That bitch cheated and made me get second. I'll show her tomorrow. I glared at her as I walked over to my trainer. It turns out I'm the only british runner left in my event, 2 Australians, 1 kenyan, and 1 American. Tomorrow is going to be the biggest day of my life.

Day 3 of the Race  (gold, silver, or bronze)(whoever wins gets gold)

The stadium seemed different today, a good different. It's probably me excited to get this over with. I was about to look for my dad when Emily, I figured out the Australians name walked up to me.

Emily- Stay out of my way and you won't get hurt.

Kalie- What, is someone scared that the slow pokes gonna beat them?

Emily- bshh no. Just stay out of my way.

This is your last race Kalie, go for the gold.

I started at a faster pace then I usually do, stupid me. Emily was still in front of me as we finished the third lap and I was getting tired. One lap left lets go. I looked up and my eyes instantly connected with Liams. He smiled and mouthed one word 'gold'. I don't know what happened, my legs started sprinting at a speed i've never gone before. I passed Emily who tried to keep up with me but couldn't. I was on the last strait and the closest person was a good third seconds behind. The crowd went wild as I got closer to the finish line. I looked at my dad who was standing up and cheering, thats something you don't see everyday. I looked at all of the boys who gave me a thumbs up and lastly Liam who was smiling and nodding his head at me. I finished and ended up beating the world record, holy shit.

Emily- This is not fair.

Kalie- Why? Because you didn't win?

Emily- I should've won and not you!

Kalie- Well I've heard that the better person always wins.

I walked away wrapping the UK flag around my body. My trainer ran up to me and gave me a huge hug congratulating me. I don't think this would have happened if Liam wasn't here. I owe that boy a lot.
